OK so now for the bed. The handbrake is awful. The emergency parking brake is fine. But for a stroller this expensive the handbrake is just horribly designed. It takes a lot of force because the short plastic, non-ergonomic lever pulls a brake cable that routes to a box which then pulls TWO cables going to each wheel’s drum brake. That’s a lot to ask of a few fingers.
It’s a bad design. So I set out to fix it. First I ripped the existing hand brake lever and cables out. Then added two bike brake levers and all new housing and cables that go to each wheel’s drum brake. This way pulling both levers at the same time doubles the amount of brake force from stock. The bike brake levers are also longer that you get better leverage and smoothness. BOB really should have just used a quality bike brake lever instead of the “toy” quality brake they decided to go with.
If you want to do this mod, you’d probably be able to have a bike mechanic do it.

We needed a stroller for my daily walks, for our trips and cobble stones. We have Cybex Priam that I love dearly but it's definitely not a stroller I would take on a a hiking trip.
This BOB Alterrain Pro is absolutely amazing.
Originally, I wanted a Thule or City Jogger. Thule is a nice stroller, lighter but the seat is shallow and the kids tend to outgrow it faster. My brother got the Tule for his kid and I have to say, the push is not as smooth as with the BOB.
I didn't get to try the City Jogger but I didn't like the fact, you couldn't positiong the handle bar.
Yes, this BOB is on the heavier side but it's totally worth it. It folds easily and and stands on its own.
It is for my 1yo daughter but my 4yo son who is 44" tall fits in just fine as well. When he gets tired, he sits in the foot rest and I can push both kids at the same time :)
We are super happy we picked this Alterrain Pro over Thule
