This great, small sized popper uses NO OILS, in fact you cannot add any to this machine without damaging it. But that's ok, just add anything AFTER the popping is done. This is my first HOT AIR popper and I love it. You will have to really try hard to mess this popcorn making process up. It pops a maximum of 1/4 cup kernels which is about one and one half the size of a normal bag of microwave pop corn but so much better tasting. I like to SPRAY olive oil lightly over mine and then salt.
There is one caution note I want to pass. This thing blows hot air (duh) and get pretty hot ALL OVER IT, so just be careful. If you pop into a stainless steel bowl like I did, that bowl will also be very hot. I suggest a pot holder glove(s) to turn the thing upside down, when finished, to get all the popped corn out of it as soon as you stop it. It takes about 2 minutes to complete popping and does NOT have a timer. Time stopping is determined by 2 or less pops / second. I would recommend this popper for two person servings or make multiple batches.

Nostalgia Hot Air Popcorn Popper, 4 qt.

I might need to get out more, but this was so much fun, I made a second batch to have for a snack at work! You measure the amount of corn using the top piece (that doubles as a butter-melter) and add it to the popping machine. Place the cup back on top and turn on the machine. It whirred for a good minute and then I heard the popping. It took about 30 more seconds before the popcorn began pushing up and out. It cleanly popped right onto the bowl. I needed a bigger one than I originally used, so there was some fallout before I could get the bigger bowl in place. This was actually a good thing because I thought this was such a small machine, it would only produce a small amount. So, to make it clear, I had a big bowl of popcorn when it was done!

It was strange to eat popcorn that did not have chemicals and fake butter on it, so it was dry and plain to me. But that is what natural food tastes like, right?! I used the melted butter and added salt and it was delicious! I really love this thing.

Works great took it out of box got some popcorn followed the instructions and in minutes we had great popcorn and almost 100% of the kernels popped better percentage than any other popcorn popper I have used plus pops a lot more of the kernels in the microwave bags and no chance of burning the popcorn you can also add butter flavor if that is your style of popcorn I would recommend to anyone who likes fresh popcorn in minutes with minimum amount of clean up

Nostalgia hot air popcorn popper 4qt

Sure, there's always microwave popcorn, but when you want to get away from all the oil and all the bags, there's the Nostalgia Hot Air Popcorn Popper. We got this hot air popper because we were ready to cut calories a bit while still enjoying popcorn, especially while virtually trapped inside without regular gym visits during the corona shutdowns. This popper sure helps.

It's so very easy to use. Pour the popcorn kernels into the included measuring cup (which, by the way, doubles as a butter melting dish if you want) and then into the popper. Turn the popper on. That's pretty much all there is to it. We've had hot air poppers before but it's been a while. The biggest thing I remembered about earlier poppers was the number of unpopped kernels coming out of it (or staying in, unpopped) so I had some reservations about the Nostalgia popper. This time I tried preheating the popper. 

The Nostalgia popper warmed up fast. Really fast. So, I lifted off the plastic chute from the base and poured the warm popcorn kernels into the base. In less than a minute the first kernels popped. They didn't pop out of the chute as I expected, but stayed inside the base. However, as more and more kernels popped, they began lifting up out of the base, through the chute and into the waiting bowl. In under three minutes all but about a half dozen kernels were popped. Actually better than microwave popcorn, with more popcorn in a single use than is in the microwave bags. Because of that, everyone can have some and all eat at the same time with all the different seasonings available.

If you're looking for a way to cut back on some calories while still enjoying a great looking, stylish machine that makes fantastic tasting popcorn, look no further. I can recommend this Nostalgia Hot Air Popcorn Popper without reservations.

Gives microwave popcorn a run for its money.

I have an old one of my grandmothers but when this arrived was so happy. Very good quality!!! So easy to use, plug it in and push the switch on or off. I knew this was coming spo was prepared, lol. Bought the popcorn kernals, a jug of popcorn butter flavored oil and a topping to sprinkle on (my husband and son like lots of butter flavor). Measure how much according to directions on popcorn ( if you use too much it will lift the top off of the popper). Lift the lid and pour it inreplace lid and turn on. Kids will love watching it pop, just dont forget to put a big bowl underneath. You can also put butter in the lid top and it will melt while corn is popping then just pour it on. I highly recommend this product!

This Nostalgia popper is really easy to use. Small in size but works great. If you love eating popcorn, I recommend this popper. It pops a good amount of popcorn with each go.

I received this product to review is a Walmart spark reviewer. Everything came packaged very nicely and separately. The unit was very easy to put together. It also has a manual and there are some really nice popcorn recipes in it that I will have to try. I clean the unit out as instructed with a damp cloth and dried with paper towel just remove any dust if there was any on it. Second thing I did was plugging it in and let it warm up for 3 minutes. It does make a noise but not a disturbing or loud noise it's just normal however, the top part of the unit did get very hot to the touch so I would advise not to let kids use it because of that top falls off and then go to pick it up their hands are going to get burned. After warming up for 3 minutes I measured out 1/4 cup of kernels I used yellow kernel corn. I added those kernels to the measuring cup that was included with the unit. It didn't feel it all the way to the top but that was good because the instructions said not to fill the included cup up to the top because it could jam up the unit or burn the popcorn. Are then put a great big bowl under the unit and turned on the air popper. I added a half a stick of butter up into the measuring cup so it would melt and I can pour it over my popcorn. All the popcorn popped quickly and there were no kernels left at the bottom of the unit it gave a nice size helping, which you can see in the video. Turn the unit off and then I poured the melted butter and added some garlic parmesan cheese seasoning into the popcorn shook it up a little bit and sat down and enjoyed it while I watched a movie. This is a very nice unit I would highly recommend it but again keep an eye on kids if they're using it because it did get very hot at the top. I was unable to upload my video unfortunately it was good but it was too big so I just took a couple photos

This hot air popper heats up fast and ready to use in less than 3 minutes. Instructions say it is ready in 2 minutes, but I found it does not leave any uncooked kernels if you let it get a little hotter. It is very easy to use by simply plugging in and pressing the on/off button, which is a great feature! It sits nicely on a countertop at 9” in height and 6” in width. My unit is a fire engine red! It comes with a handy cup to measure the proper amount of uncooked kernels and this cup also sits in The top of popper and is designed to melt butter; however, my butter was never melted enough by the time the popper finished popper. I think it would work better if your butter was sitting in room temperature longer than we left ours. Once your unit is hot enough, you pour your pre measured kernels into machine, and then stand back and watch! I used Yellow popping kernels and they worked nicely. I had about 10 kernels that were not completely popped. You need to place a bowl to catch the popcorn and I recommend a tall larger than needed bowl so the rim of the bowl will catch the flying popcorn as it comes out of the shoot. This air popper is easy to get clean and store as the court wraps around inside the base of the unit. The cord is 30” in length! I found the machine had an unusual “burn” smell the first 3 times we used?, but was fine on our 4th go round! My 12 year old grandson loved helping and was able to work the machine by himself. The machine comes with a user manual with great recipes! Air popcorn is so much healthier than popping in oil and much tastier. All in all, this is a nice air popper and I recommend. Easy to use

I recently received the Nostalgia Air-Popcorn Maker from Walmart for review as part of their Sparkreviewer program.  The product arrived in good condition without damage.  My initial impression, other than the fact that it was cute looking, was that it was smaller than I expected.  I owned an air popcorn maker many years ago but have gone back to using the stovetop method of making popcorn over the years.  I thought it would be interesting to try an air popper again.  Included in the box is an instruction manual and the popper, which consists of the main unit you plug in or base, a clear plastic popping chamber that sits on top of the base and a smaller clear plastic measure cup that sits on top of the popping chamber.  Apparently, you can use this cup as a measure for the popcorn or to melt butter in.  The instruction manual states that the popper makes up to 16 cups of popcorn and to use no more than 1/4 cup of popcorn.  Apparently, there is supposed to be a measuring line on the cup that was included but I could not find a measure line nor could several members of my family I asked to check just to make sure I wasn't missing it.  I wound up just using a 1/4 measuring cup. Let me say that I really tried give this product a fair review.   The first time I tried it I let it run for 3 full minutes as instructed before adding the popcorn and almost 10 minutes later I had about 3 cups of popcorn and a handful of uncooked kernels.  I then tried it 3 additional times on separate days using 2 different types of popcorn in order to see if I could get it to work better. Unfortunately, I never got more than 4 cups of popped popcorn and the quickest time it took was 8.07 minutes.  Add in the 3 minutes for the unit to warm up and you're at just over 11 minutes to pop 4 cups of popcorn.  It also runs very loudly.  Needless to say, I am very disappointed with this product would not recommend it to others at this time.  

Very Disappointing

My grandmother had this type of popper when it was considered cutting edge in the late 1970's so I was excited to get a chance to try a more modern version.

The old adage that everything gets better with age is not the case here.

Poured in the appropriate amount of corn from the handy measuring cup/butter melter. Fired it up and wham popcorn kernels everywhere! Counter-top, bowl, floor, walls, you get the picture. The design flaw in this product is the small size. The original version was tall enough that the un-popped corn found its way back to the popping chamber while only the popped kernels escaped via air flow.

This version only popped about 2/3 of the corn and the rest went literally everywhere!

While the popping time was very fast the lack of efficiency Is a dealbreaker for me.
