Victron sets the standard for quality and performance in the solar and marine automation market. Good integration with other victron products using an additional cable (would be nice to use native Bluetooth though…not possible I don’t think). For a clean installation, consider crimping ferrules over your wires — the terminals are close together.

I didn’t like I needed to purchase a Bluetooth dongle, but once I did, I could go without it. The metrics are held in this device and Bluetooth for communication only. I saw historical charges as soon as hooked up the MPPT, but did the Bluetooth 5 days later. No data loss.

This is my first Victron charge controller after several Renology controllers. In comparison, the renology units give you the same features for half the cost, so I'm rolling the dice that this unit will provide twice or more of the quality over the Renology offerings. Renology charge controllers seem to be hit-and-miss in their lifespan.

Out of the box this unit works fine. The MPPT does work and provided a 15-20% increase in output over the PWM controller in use previously. Note that in a 12V system, it doesn't wake up until PV input reaches 17V, which may be important to you.

There is very little configuration you can do with this unit out of the box. If you want to adjust set points you've got to buy a control module, either an interface to phone/PC or the little LCD panel, and you've got to give up three-four cups of starbucks for the interface cable, which does not come with the controller (or the LCD controls I ordered separately). So the cost adds up.

The MPPT doesn't seem as "fast" as the renology units, but again, the real world gains as a MPPT are there.

There are some intelligent features unique to Victron, such as reducing automated load times if needed to aid a battery in returning to full capacity. The charge profile is also good to my eye, with multi-stage charging and available (if you buy the external interface) equalization strategy.

Given that the quality seems superior to most of the other offerings in this category, I've gone with this unit and will likely do so again should another need for a static install that "just needs to work." Otoh, if I end up with the shed in the back yard with a small panel to keep the riding mower battery topped up over during the winter, i'd likely go with one of the many cheaper pwm units.

This is my first foray into the MPPT solar world, and it was a great start without compromising quality, or having enourmous expense up front.
I've had this controller for about a year now, and I'm quite happy with it's performance. It has certainly made a large difference in the amount of energy I'm able to harvest from my tiny 30W panel, especially at lower charge voltages. The unit is built reasonably solidly, can't say I have any real complaints about it.

Over Labor Day this year we spent 7 full days in the hills of Northern Idaho.....without the generator running even once! The two panels I have add up to 120w nominal output. That's not much, but it is what I have. With the BlueSolar 75/10 controller, the batteries would be at float stage after 2 or 3 hours of full sunlight. Admittedly, we are extremely frugal with our usage, however I was very pleased with the BlueSolar's performance on cloudy days....and that is when it is really important to squeeze everything you can out of your panels.....

So maybe I didn't read the description or manual closely enough, but I didn't realize you need a Bluetooth dongle to address the unit and do any configuration. That's another $50. I was willing to pay a premium for MPPT over PWM, but an additional $50 crossed my limit. I returned it.

Visually, the unit appears to be well constructed. Based on other reviews I have no doubt it would have worked well. They have other units with built in Bluetooth. That makes a lot more sense.

Solid device, keep in mind "bluesolar" doesnt have bluetooth, if you're looking to monitor the device without extra cables and devices you'll buy "smartsolar" wish I was smart because now Im blue (or actually not) my only complaint about these units is the terminals, wires tend to easily pull out if not secured otherwise, also they use flat head screws, which are annoying. Would have preferred a terminal bolt or other attachment means that could accommodate a small lug or spade connection

Le top du top ! Rien à voir avec la pléthore de chinoiserie, certe il coûte un peu plus cher, mais la qualité à un prix ! J'adore les led qui indiquent le statut de recharge (et indirectement le pourcentage de la batterie, qui évite aussi de dépenser une dizaine d'euros en plus pour l'option bluetooth si vous en avez pas l'absolue nécessité) l'option batterylife est très ingénieuse et sauvegarde la batterie lorsque les jours couvert persiste. Attention, la sortie Load est limité en empère (selon les modèles) y brancher un petit onduleur 230v directement en théorie fonctionnerait mais l'appel de courant excédent les 10 ampères (dans mon cas) le contrôleur le considère comme un court circuit.
