    First mechanical keyboard, worth it

    First mechanical keyboard, worth it
This was the first mechanical keyboard I've bought so far, and I don't regret doing so. It's nice and hefty and feels good to type with. The lighting options are vast and there are so many features I feel like I still don't know everything there is to know about them. The 3 saved profiles are also very convenient. My only complaint would be the Drevo software, but I don't feel it's fair to lower my review because of it.

So I've been looking into the Drevo BladeMaster for quite some time now, ever since the launch of their Kickstarter.

I was a bit hesitant at first with purchasing this product because the concept with the knob seemed like an excellent idea. But being executed by a small Chinese company rather than a company such as Razer or Corsair seemed a bit awkward for me. I gave them the benefit of the doubt after seeing a review of the keyboard on YouTube and I have to say, I'm definitely not disappointed. And if anything, I'm more impressed with this keyboard than any other that I've purchased.

Having previously owned a Blackwidow Chroma and a Corsair K95 Platinum, I needed something smaller because my desk didn't have enough space for a full-size keyboard + space for me to flick my mouse when I'm playing FPS games. The Gateron Red switches are definitely a good middle between the Razer Greens, which are not sensitive enough, and the Corsair MX Speeds, which sometimes are a bit too sensitive, causing me to misclick. As far as discrepancy between Gateron Reds and MX Reds, I really can't tell a significant difference between the two.

For the price, you definitely get your dollars worth. The keyboard is manufactured very well and it's definitely sturdy, and the lights are definitely a huge add on. The knob on the side is huge when it comes to gaming and helps me perform tasks faster than i could on a regular keyboard.

The only complaint I do have with the keyboard is the software that comes with it. It's fairly easy to use and responsive, but the layout just seems very outdated and clunky. I really don't expect a Razer Synapse level software because Drevo is a fairly new company developing gaming gear, but I believe refining on the software, removing the spelling errors, and maybe refining on the Chinese text will immensely improve a buying customers experience.

The Red Keys were a lot softer than I had expected but it really just taught me to have a lighter hand. Hence making my movement in first person shooters a lot more free and responsive . The keys are actually being pressed about 30% of the way down. That being said if you have a heavy hand and don’t wanna change that don’t get the reds.

The quality of this keyboard should be the standard honestly. Keys have a nice grip, the board has a nice weight, the hull feels sturdy and the lighting does its job. The software from the website is pretty straightforward as well. I recommend this to anyone looking for an upgrade or first time getting a “gaming” keyboard.

Coming from a membrane dell keyboard, I thought it would be nice to make a change. I ordered this keyboard with gateron reds. Very light, linear, just the way it should be. I've got one concern, that being the spacebar is slightly rattly, not noticeable though. The knob on the side may be useful, to me not so much. The underglow on this keyboard is BEAUTIFUL! I turn my lights off and its so pretty to see it glow like that! I recommend this keyboard to anyone, just depends on what switch type.

This keyboard is a good entry level keyboard but if you've experienced mechanical keyboards go for a higher quality keyboard with cherry MX switches instead of this keyboard. On my first day with the keyboard some keys sounded way different than other ones and sometimes you can even hear the springs of the switches but overall it's a good keyboard but some can argue there are better keyboards for the price.
Reviewed in the United States on April 1, 2019
This is the 2nd RGB keyboard I've owned but the first mechanical keyboard aside from classic IBM AT keyboards. So far I have been extremely happy with the lighting and key visibility. The switches (Red) have a smooth travel and provide just enough audible feedback to type with confidence. The weight of the keyboard is perfect for keeping it from moving around in heated game sessions, and the software was easy to install.

Cons: There are 3 negatives with this keyboard. First, the Caps Lock key is not stepped, it makes it difficult to find the 'A' key without looking or fumbling around a bit. With my previous keyboard (an HP Mini tenkeyless) the step-down on the Caps Lock key was the perfect resting spot for the finger closest to the letter 'A' resulting in fast response times when moving the hand away and back in the middle of a game. Second, the genius wheel requires too much force to turn. I can only hope that the wheel will weaken over time to make it easier to turn. I bought this keyboard especially for the wheel to control volume but it requires too much effort to be convenient. Making matters worse is the texture on the wheel is incredibly smooth resulting in fingers just sliding over the wheel instead of having any grip. Lastly, the software interface needs improvement. It is not clear how to save a custom profile or make it active. I was only able to get it working through dumb luck randomly clicking on things that had no clear indication they were clickable or would perform the desired task.

Overall, I am very happy with this keyboard, there was a %15 off coupon here when I bought it and it is far better than the HP Mini keyboard I had been using. I hope they do a revision that addresses the difficult to turn genius knob and do some QA on their software to improve the UI. The Caps Lock key I dealt with by ordering a custom key-cap that has the superior stepped design.

This is amazing it's so WOW and different I have never seen anything like before. All the RGB keyboards out there are pretty much the same but this one is different. And low price keyboard I cannot believe it. DREVO really went on this product I'm just loving it. Keep going DREVO Make some cool RGB mouse I would love to see. The only thing I can recommend is the quality of the keys when pressed, please make silent keys on this keyboard. I just love the knob too That what turned me on to this keyboard and the RGB all around the keyboard because of there no keyboard like this.

Great keyboard. Especially if you're getting into modding keyboards this is super affordable and a good base to alter if you want to. I added o rings to the bottom of my keys and it feels great and doesn't sound too bad to type on.
