Cons:
The stand is a bit wobbly and the built-in crosshair/aimpoint are HUGE. There's also no quick hotkeys to enable/disable the crosshairs. Sometimes changing a setting in the OSD would reset other random settings such as the VRB. It would be great if Acer improves on these. Otherwise, this monitor is probably one of the best 360+hz out there.
I don't own the Zowie with DyAc+, I had/have the 240hz Asus XG258Q (now a 3rd monitor) which I was very impressed with. However, at the fastest overdrive, there was pretty obvious ghosting that would occur, something more apparent on some games than others and especially on certain areas or scenes. The other thing was the colour was average (once again, you get used to it) but at the end of the day, it is a TN Panel so it was to be expected.
Now, onto the Nitro - IPS Panel, 360hz (overdrive to 390hz) and the VRB works at FULL 390hz with no noticeable input delay. Surely not...Yet, the magic is there. Incredible.
The IPS panel provides much deeper colours than my TN, is faster than the Asus XG258Q, AND has 0 ghosting from what I can see. Absolute wizardry. Even games that cant hit the 390 FPS mark feel far smoother and impressive e.g. Apex Legends I cap at 240, yet is smoother than my 240hz monitor. Just beautiful.
Also, there is a 'Super Sharpness' feature in the monitor that once turned on, removes the blurriness effect and sometimes I get confused that it isn't 1440p.
The only negative I have found so far is that the overdrive turns itself off automatically every time you shut down your PC. Make sure you turn this back on every time you boot the PC.
People also mention the brightness with Extreme VRB as a negative and this does take a hit, but after adjusting some settings I feel this to be a non-issue and still plenty bright.
All in all, best monitor I have used to date.
If you want the best possible panel for competitive gaming at the minute, this is it!
The image when turn on VRB is like night and day, the clarity is top notch, and really smooth over all.
Brightness would dim a little when vrb is on but still acceptable, great color balance ( recommended color settings: User , gamma 2.6, RGB: 48;47;50)
My unit auto reset vrb after shutting down/ restart pc) but that’s about it, and a few stuck pixels but it’s pretty common.
Can’t get any better than this, cuz even with my 3080 5900x valorant runs around 400fps low settings, wont need 480hz till next gpu generation comes out
