It allows me to remotely control the mouse and it works perfectly. The tracking is very good, supports finger gestures and has Left/Right mouse clicks buttons. Much better than trying to use a wireless keyboard mouse combo to do the same thing since I don't need to type.
this plugged right in and just worked with no install tomfoolery. the multitouch gestures are similar enough to the ones i use on my macs that there was not a huge amount of adjustment to be made. the only issue with touch gestures is that tap on the pad doesn't particularly work, you still need to use the buttons.
the other issue is that positioning is fussier than with the macs. i need to look and see if there is any tuning available to settle this down. it does work, though, and i'm glad i got it. my right wrist is also glad i got it.
I love having two-finger gestures available at my desk. It worked on without having to install or configure anything, which is great. But it's practically unuseable:
There's like a half-second of delay between when you start a gesture and when the page starts to scroll. The feedback is so sluggish that by the time you take your finger off the pad you've already scrolled past what you wanted to see. Pinch and zoom is similarly too hard to control, although I'm not sure latency is the problem there. And for pointing it's much harder to use than the mouse or the trackpad built into my laptop. As a result I'm keeping the mouse plugged in; I use the trackpad to scroll pages and the mouse for pointing.
The scrolling function is a little unreliable - seems to freeze at times. Accuracy and sensitivity is adequate for basic use. Copy function is clumsy also but you can still keep your mouse plugged in and use it in an emergency.
