Lots of Twists!

Lots of Twists!
Wow! What a twisty thriller! A group of former college friends decide to get together for a weekend. However, when one of them shows up with a dead body inside his car, they suddenly need to decide what to do with it! It seems everyone has a different opinion, and everyone has a secret! Before long arguments erupt and then the situation becomes each man for himself! Add to that, a remote location, and some bad guys with their own agenda and you have the makings of a really intense thriller!Told in short chapters, from each character’s point of view, just when you think you know how it will end, the author throws in another twist! This author, Keri Beevis has definitely made it to my auto-buy list!Read this if you like twisty stories, intense situations, remote locations, and secrets! I listened to this on audio, then switched over to read the Kindle version. I had a little difficulty with the strong Scottish accent of the narrator. I’m a BIG fan of Keri Beevis’ books. There are always so many surprises and well developed characters. With Friends Like These, the ending will set your pulse racing. I haven’t stopped thinking about the twists or the ending since I finished the book yesterday. Now THAT says a lot!

I definitely enjoyed it and it had several good twists. Most the characters are unlikeable but with everything that happens I'm sure there was a reason for that. Well written and kept a steady pace. I recommend if you want an enjoyable read.

I read my first Keri Beevis book about 6 years ago. Now I just keep waiting until another is released. With Friends Like These is now my favorite. Love & hate all the charachters & the ending was unexpected.

*I listened to the audiobook*

I might have enjoyed this more as a book I read than a book I listened to. While the narrator did a good job performing the book, I found the storyline difficult to follow as timelines weren’t made clear.

Several times I was confused because the book had gone back in time, which wasn’t obvious. I also felt the book went on longer than necessary when the chaos exploded.

I might have to try this again as a book I read to see if I enjoy it more. The plot was decent, and the pacing moved along quickly, but there were times I didn’t know where we were in the timeline, and I tuned out.

There weren’t really any great characters in this book. Everyone had secrets and ulterior motives, and as intertwined with the hit and run, things got more complex.

I found the narrator talented. He did a great job bringing the characters to life, and there were many people to keep straight. I enjoyed his voice and the cadence in which he read the novel.

I wish things had been a bit clearer, but overall, this was really just okay for me. I was happy when it was finished. I felt the story was dragged out longer than necessary, and the plot was reasonably repetitive from the middle through the end.

I liked this book because it had you guessing until almost to the end. I liked that the author wrapped it up nicely at the end.

Well, Keri Beevis found a bunch of friends who did not know the meaning of the word. Not much friendship there over the last eight years. Not JUST during this weekend. Things start bad and go downhill fast.

The premise is good, her characters have flaws and I guess you could even "Like" one of two of them.

Some action, a few implausible moments, but definitely a story to enjoy.

You will learn early on that some friends are best to unfriend.

OOPS!

Too LATE!

A great plot that had several characters but also easy to follow. It leads you on a ride with lots of twists but the surprises came to an unexpected conclusion!

5.0 out of 5 stars Something different in style, focused on one place, surprising through to the end!

It is the first book in which Keri Beevis sets the scenes to unfold in a single environment, a house. At first I thought it would be a bit difficult, but then I began to see her mastermind behind it. She was so convincing that I got the claustrophobic feeling the characters must have felt trapped inside the house.

The surprises coming along and the revelations dropping heavily upon the group just added the thrill needed to make a blast of a good book.

The way she sorted out the ending was masterful as always. I'd rather have just a tiny detail different but that was perfect as it were.

Beevs, you nailed it again. I loved this book.

Thank you for delivering so many good books to us! Blessed be!

What a wild ride this story was. It had me on the edge of my seat. I couldn't put it down. I loved the ending. Karma, she is a bitch. If you love a good thriller then I suggest you read any of Keri's books. You won't be disappointed.

I have read Keri’s other books as I love a thriller so when I heard this one was a step away from that I was a little worried but I was also intrigued.
From the very beginning I was taken with all the characters liking some and wanting to punch others!
And although there wasn’t the usual scary, jumpy, twists of previous books, the connection with the characters and storyline, I felt, was more than enough to make me enjoy this book immensely.
I love your thrillers Keri but this book was a triumph!
