Anita Waller was born in Sheffield, South Yorkshire in 1946. She married Dave in 1967 and they have three adult children.

With many books to her name, she feels she has finally realised her dream. She writes mainly psychological thrillers, but was commissioned in 2018 to write a cosy mystery series, the Kat and Mouse trilogy. By November 2020 this will have grown to five books, plus a spin-off standalone novel called Epitaph, featuring Doris, one of the characters from the series. This series has now led on to a spin-off series, the Connection Trilogy, with books entitled Blood Red, Code Blue and Mortal Green. All these books, which will number twenty by the time Mortal Green is available, have been published by Bloodhound Books.

In 2021 Waller signed a five book deal with Boldwood Books, and currently has five published books with them: One Hot Summer, The Family at No.12, Fatal Secrets (the first in a new series set in Sheffield), The Couple Across the Street, and Fatal Lies, the second in the Forrester series. The Family at No.12 reached #2 in the Amazon Kindle charts.

She is now in her late-seventies with a new Boldwood contract, happily writing most days and would dearly love to plan a novel, but has accepted that isn’t the way of her mind. Every novel starts with a sentence and she waits to see where that sentence and her characters will take her. If writer's block intrudes, be sure there will be a death.

In her life away from the computer in the corner of her kitchen, she is a Sheffield Wednesday supporter with blue blood in her veins!

Her genre is murder - necessary murder.

I doubt real people give a paragraph answer, rehashing what's already known, again, to a simple question of a want of beverage or not. Which caused this story to drag in some spots. Still good intense story, made me cry and laugh so I enjoyed it overall.

Once again, Anita Waller delivers with very likable human characters, interesting locations and captivating style. This time she adds the supernatural and provides a spine-tingling, page-turning, sleep-depriving story that is both hard to put down and hard to pick up.

The author does a great job of building to the shocking ending. However, i am uncomfortable with the subject matter and did not expect the book to be as cloying as too much lavender. I like good mysteries that make me giggle. Not a single giggle in this ine

Very well written! I loved all the people in the story! (Except Lavendar's spirit). I can't believe how much tea and coffee everyone drank!

What a great read. Having recently visited Castleton where the story is set, I was intrigued and completely immersed in the story. A supernatural tale of how death cannot diminish true love. Great characters and a fab twist at the end which totally caught me off guard. Highly recommend!

5.0 out of 5 stars Whenever I smell lavender I'll think of this book

Lavender the youngest of three sisters died as the result of a car accident along with her grandparents. All seems to be in the past until almost six years later when Matt , Lavenders former boyfriend decides to get married and all hell breaks out .I'll say no more about the storyline as I dont won't to give any spoilers. I'll just say it's a very intense read and anyone that likes psychological thrillers will like I did , enjoy reading this book .If you've seen a photo of the author Anita Waller you'll see a face of innocence ( Butter wouldn't melt ) just shows the old saying never judge a book by it's cover . One thing for sure whenever I smell lavender I'll certainly think of this book
