I am so happy I read this amazing story!!!

The build up of Beck and Violet’s relationship was fantastic.
They had a great balance despite the differences of their characters.
Their love had no boundaries.
All secondary characters were wonderful too.

Although I was very anxious for this part, because usually the last one is not as good as the previous one, I have to admit that it was a wonderful conclusion to the series.

It was the perfect conclusion to Violet and Beck’s story. This book was the one where they build their future, professionally as well as romantically, together. Where they let go of the past.

Well, THEIR past, not THE past. Because we keep learning more about Isi and Wreck, the couple whose love is guiding Violet and Beck, in more unexpected ways each time. The past and the present of Meager–the small town Violet lives in, the main setting of this book–much like in Violet’s collages, are intricately related. Through those two couples. Through the various characters that crossed path in the past and that get to have a strong influence on Beck and Violet. But also through the house that once belonged to Violet’s family and that she wants to get back, the house of the title, Whisperwind.

This time, the story is deeply anchored in Meager–while the previous book had a more wanderlust feel–and its South Dakotan culture, with several characters of Native American heritage. They aren’t here only to play the diversity card. There’s a message about reservations and the hardship of living in one.

The author once again plays with the reader’s senses, invoking all of them in powerful images. Especially when writing about the creative process–both in music and in photography.

The characters may be a bit too perfect though. I couldn’t totally relate to people who succeed at everything they do, and always meet the right people who can help them to achieve greater goals. That doesn’t mean I didn’t like them. Just that they were nothing like me. But that’s why we read fiction, right?

Quickie

- Series: The wind and the roar trilogy #3 (end of the trilogy)
- Hashtags: #rockstar romance #friends to lovers #second chance #first love
- Triggers: cheating, subtance abuse, past death
- Main couple: Violet Hildebrand & Beck Lanier
- Hotness: 5/5
- Romance: 5/5
- + the nod to Native American heritage
- – failure isn’t a bad word, characters don’t have to be exceptionally talented at everything

My mind has been blown by this book. It is so full of feelings, passions and great characters, all pulled together in a well written and planned tale. When I use the word 'passions' I do so advisedly as Cat Porter vividly describes, and brings to life, the passion of the musician, the composer, the player, the photographer for their craft and subjects, the man whose love of horses and his heritage gives back to another generation. And, on top of that, passionate love and deep friendships. This is one hell of a good read. Beck, Violet and the rest of the cast take on a life of their own and carry you through the narrative in a style that doesn't let up from start to finish. Fabulous! 💖💖💖💖💖

What a conclusion to a fantastic trilogy! Violet and Beck’s story concludes, and what a story it is. The details, people, and story are unique, and I devoured each book quickly. Meager, SD is the true focal point of the story with its rich history and tradition. Too bad it is not a real town. The author is a spectacular storyteller, and this love story has been on my mind for days since I finished it.

Thank you to the author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.

This trilogy was absolutely phenomenal!! It had so much heart and creativity. It was soul searching and so very inspiring. The emotions Cat Porter pulls in her writing is truly something special. I loved Beck and Violet so much! I loved we got to connect with characters again from the Lock & Key series, Fury and The Dagger In The Sea. And what truly brought my emotions out was Wreck and Isa. Their story was so beautifully tragic and heart wrenching. Cat Porter you wrote a beautiful amazing trilogy here.

Whisperwind is clearly a true love letter to the fictional town of Meager, S.D. Cat Porter has written a sweeping conclusion to the Wind and the Roar trilogy that is both touching and exciting. There is plenty to digest as Beck and Violet’s chaotic romance continues to grow, outside forces contributing to the mayhem that is often their lives. But Porter guides us through all of it with her masterful brand of storytelling and we’re left with nothing but huge smiles and full hearts.

Picking up right where we left off in Whirlwind, with Beck and Violet having to separate while he heads to L.A. and she heads back to Meager, it’s a wonder if these two will ever be able to be in the same place at the same time for more than just a passing moment. Their Greek adventure certainly solidified their feelings but there is still much uncertainty as each much honor obligations both professionally and personally.

There truly is much at play here with many storyline tangents that had me wondering just how Porter would tie up all of the numerous loose ends from the previous two books. There is never a dull moment as Beck is thrust back into recording a new album while making sure Jude stays clean and sober. Violet is juggling her burgeoning photography career with making sure her father is satisfied with her contribution to his company and helping out when she can at her mom’s café. Not to mention her sister Jessa’s reappearance, her continued nightmares concerning her brother Five and her parents’ marital issues.

And although I was glad that many of my questions were answered in time, I often felt as if the love story between Beck and Violet took a backseat to everything else happening around them. I did love all the history we gleaned, especially from Violet’s beloved Gigi together with a bit of help from Beck’s dad, Eric, and former bandmate Stewart wrt Isi and Wreck. I also enjoyed all the time spent with the ladies of Meager, since their kind of tight-knit friendship and support never gets old. But with all that is swirling around our couple, there just wasn’t enough interaction to fully make this their story. Not to mention having to deal with Ladd and all the mystery behind the lucrative land deal. Perhaps a bit more of the smaller moments, more texts, phone calls, etc. would have kept their romance as the true focus for me. And perhaps, that is the author’s intention: to show just how crazy Beck and Violet’s lives are by keeping them over the top busy and apart just a bit too much.

I was pleased, however, that no matter what was thrown at them, that Beck and Violet managed to stem any bleeding before things got completely out of hand. Beck, in particular, is just so chill. He really is the best of Eric and Lenore and is clearly the Yang to Violet’s Yin. Violet is a certified Meager woman and shows her feisty spirit more than once, much to the chagrin of those around her. It took me a bit to warm up to her but I am satisfied that she is the one for Beck.

Overall, this is a very good read and definitely sets up a couple of stories for the future that I hope are written. Jessa is a great character and I’d love to see her surprise relationship explored further. As well as Erica and my desire to see her happy now that she is/will be a free woman.

You can’t go wrong with a Cat Porter book. Especially those that revolve around the town of Meager and the residents that keep that town both exciting and well-loved. I was thrilled to be back and happily give Whisperwind a solid 4 stars!

"Them's fightin' words, Lanier."

"Oh no, no, no, baby. I'm not a fighter, I'm a lover. Your lover. Although, I will fight for you if I'm pushed."
Their strong epic love 🎼❤📷

Now Violet & Beck love story is epic and yes it needed to be said again. What I love there was some drama doing the relationship HOWEVER they never broke up. They stick together and Beck did a bit more fighting for her because paparazzi causing drama.

Jude I got worry about him since Whirlwind. We got updates from him and I won't spoil it for you. Especially if you not read Whirlwind and this book too. I love him he is a wonderful character & best friends with Beck.

The band is going strong AND Violet photography career is to. I love that we see her career rise and Freefall has got some new photos & styles...no spoilers

Well worth the wait and the ending I can promise you is a happily ever after !! ❤🏠❤

Behold, the third and final book of The Wind and the Roar Trilogy, and what a final book it is! Whisperwind is a strong and fulfilling conclusion to Beck and Violet's story. Cat Porter not only told the tale of the love journey of the main characters, she seamlessly wove the Meager, SD origin story and family history into the present day. The beauty of this tapestry really touched me, and reminded me how many footprints make the path. I loved the maturity of the relationships, the truths and bonds delivered and solidified. I FELT this story, and I look forward to reading it again. Whisperwind is an epic tale deserving of your time.

Whisperwind is out today. I don't want to whisper, I want to shout it from the rooftops. Read. This. Trilogy! It's sugar, spice and everything nice!!

Whisperwind concludes the Wind & Roar trilogy in the best way. Beck and Violet are together, with a capital T. Violet easily (some days) enters the life of rock and roll while Beck eases right into Violet's world. They compliment each other in the most amazing way. A true friends to lovers love story of fighting for your person and being there through the good and the bad.

Cat blended in all of our favorite Jacks so we could get a little bit caught back up to their world. I was thrilled to get a little snippet of them in Whisperwind.

@catporter.writer wrapped this trilogy with a big, beautiful bow. I was happy to unwrap and see what was inside.

Thank you, Cat and @givemebookspr!!

I'm going to keep this review short & sweet since it's the final book in The Wind and the Roar trilogy which means it's the conclusion to Beck & Violet's story. It also truly blew me away with all the feelings of mine that were pulled out & running amok throughout, so it feels wrong to give anything away to be honest LOL! Cat Porter totally outdid herself with this explosively emotional ending to a hell of a journey for not only our MCs, but the side characters as well, and frankly, I never wanted it to end. It's a journey that is tattooed on my heart permanently as I didn't just read it, I felt it with everything in me so you better believe I'll be revisiting it over & over again. I know I sound super extra, but seriously, once you experience all the goodness for yourselves, you'll understand everything I'm saying, so you know what to do! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

In this third installment of the Wind & the Roar trilogy, as we would expect, the relationship between Beck and Violet deepens. Porter has written this relationship differently from the characters of the Lock & Key series. We are accustomed to the broken spirit and soul of a biker. Searching for something and not really knowing what until the love of their life sweeps in with plenty of angst, turmoil and changes everything, completely. This is not the case of Beck and Violet. They have known one another for a good long while but their lives were worlds apart. With perfect timing and a chance meeting at Pete’s Tavern they reconnect and over time we see a relationship grow.

Beck is driven but grounded and centered. He knows what he wants and continually strives for that dream. Violet struggles with family obligation and guilt that surrounds the life and death of her brother, Five. But, Beck is a balm for her soul. She is settled, calm when he is close. She transforms to her best self with his support, encouragement and eventually his love. Due to careers and obligations they spend much time apart. But, that does not detract in how they feel about one another. The story’s focus provides a great glimpse of the rock band scene of Freefall, Beck’s band. And Violet’s continued pursuit of photography.

While the love of Beck and Violet are key, there is a much deeper, richer love of where it all began for them and that is Meager, South Dakota. There is magic to this little, fictional town. The foundation is set from long ago with the glimpse we get into the Dillon-Hildebrand family history as well as the town. The great strength of this story is the superb manner in which Porter encases the past of Meager and the characters we have come to love with the new that has been introduced in this trilogy. Yes, I see some very intriguing possibilities of future stories on the horizon!

The Wind and a the Roar Trilogy is a trilogy focusing on Beck Lanier and Violet Hildebrand. The pair have a brief yet off the charts interaction in the first book Freefall. Their collision sets forth a series of events that make this story so memorable.

In the trilogy Violet is questioning her career path. She’s destined for more than her father’s assistant and covering his secrets. To me she’s full of color and energy! I love that you can’t contain her passion.

There’s only one word to describe Beck for me, Sexy! Along with his rockstar persona he is a real sweetheart. Always looking out of his sister and band members. Making sure Violet can see her future.

There are so many times throughout the book that I could see certain scenarios come to life. Especially when they were doing their photo shoot. The pair have emotional ups and downs especially when connecting his father with her cousin and Wreck. I shed more than one tear reading their long lost love notes.

The author weaves past characters in the trilogy but not overwhelming so. I could have read more about Finger though! Overall it was an enjoyable trilogy that has a little drama to keep their story moving forward.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Whisperwind was an epic finale to a thoroughly amazing trilogy. I really need time to inhale all of Cat Porter's books after reading this trilogy.
This begins where Whirlwind left off. Beck Lanier is headed back to LA to work on a new record and Violet is heading back to Meager. I really expected the usual drama that would take place here but the author did an amazing job bringing it all together to work out the best for these two. So much is going on around them, whether near or far, but it left me feeling fully immersed as if I were a character. I got to the end of this beautiful tale and just sat there and "felt" everything that was pulled from me. It is very rare that I come across a book that leaves me feeling this way. It kept me engaged from beginning to end and I loved it. I highly recommend it. This is my honest opinion, freely given.

Whisperwind by Cat Porter

I have been following this entire series so was super excitedly awaiting this third book. This is the conclusion to Beck and Violet’s story and the first word that popped in my head after I finished reading was WOW. This couldn’t have been a better end. Beck and Vi's love story comes to a conclusion and what a ride this love story has been. This talented author has done a phenomenal job in weaving this trilogy together and allowing us to live in it while we read. I cannot say it enough times that you must read this entire trilogy. It is an amazingly written love story that will leave you wanting more and more. I cannot wait for what else is to come from this author.

I'm extremely biased here, I recognize this. Cat lives in my top 3 authors, which is a very lofty position....at least in my opinion LOL.
This book was the delectable conclusion of Beck & Violet's love story, and oh my what a love story it was. The magic jumps off the pages and into your heart and leaves you full and in love.
In this installment we are back in Meager SD and get to catch up with all the ones we've loved before. Plus we experience young new love taking off and making our characters soar.
Such a delightful story this was.
Highest of all praise, very much recommend to everyone everywhere.

In the final book in their trilogy, Beck and Violet have to figure out how their relationship can work. Violet is still kind of hedging her bets and it got old. Beck was standup throughout and did all he could to show her that he was in it all of the way. Her dealings with Ladd were just odd and didn't really bring much to the story for me. There was enough drama without it needing to be there. I did like how Beck encouraged Violet to go for her dreams. He did quite a few surprises for her and sometimes she just didn't seem to appreciate it like she should have. Her family issues were finally brought out and it made some sense as to why she is the way she is. I felt Beck did a great job of being there for her when he could. I wanted to see her putting herself out there more for him. Their ending was great. There was a lot of symbolism in this book and it added to their story. It wove the past and the present throughout it. I will say a lot of this book centered on each of their artistic talents. I did like how the final reveal of Whisperwind was done.

This is the 3rd and wonderful conclusion to Beck and Violet’s story. Together their bond is unbreakable, and they face any challenges in their path head on and a united front, and equally determined that nothing will stand in their path to separate them again. This is a beautifully written heartwrenching tale, which is an emotional and inspirational magical gem of a conclusion. This talented author has done a phenomenal job in weaving this trilogy, and I look forward to reading more of her work which I highly recommend for all.

Where do I begin. This is an excellent read that pulls characters from old and new together thru then and now. It evoked such happy , nostalgic and beautiful emotions. Cat writes such a beautiful love between Violet and Beck. There was many times during this book that I was moved to tears especially because of celebration of Isi and Wreck's love. I still think of their story and get all choked up. I would recommend this book 100%. Looking forward to Walker and Jesse's story. #ilovecatporter #keepemcoming

Finally this book lived up to cat Porter standards.

The first two books were very disappointing, this one had all the feels n emotion. Yes the story n plot were completely predictable and it was corny at times, but it did go deep n touch you.

I loved the music sessions n the photography descriptions. And really liked both mcs in this book. Beck was divine, violet grew on me.

Not a fan of rockstar books tbh. They're very predictable and formulaic.

Not my fav series of the author of which I'm a huge fan.

But this book finally hit the spot.

Whisperwind by C. Porter is the third book in this trilogy and the conclusion to Violet and Beck's story.
The photographer and the rock star are together at least, but now starts every day life, a world tour is to shoulder, just normal everyday stuff.
This is the last book in this well written, heartwrenching story about this special couple. A great read, 4 beautiful stars.

I can’t express how good this book is. I loved revisiting past characters from Cat Porters Lock and Key series and Dagger and the Sea. I keep hoping for a paranormal novella with Wreck and ISI. I cried while reading mentions of them in this series. I highly suggest this series if you want to read a low angst love story and learn about some history in the area of S Dakota.

LOVED this trilogy!! But I always love Mrs. Porter's writing style! This is a must-read, I'm not even going to go into how hot the friends to lovers between Beck and Violet are. Just read it!! Because there is more to this story, so much more and all the twists and turns is what makes their/this story great!!

I do like a HEA there is something satisfying to "watch" your hero and heroine getting there.

I loved the backstory, and the tie into the other series of books starting with Lock and Key. This was carefully crafted, entwined and delivered with a stonking great bow.

Now I am off for a reread starting with Lock and Key (Miller and Grace) where it all began.

Love, love LOVED this trilogy! Cat Porter has done it again…she sucked me in to this series and just couldn’t stop until I finished. Violet and Beck were everything. While reading the story I found I’ve missed reading a few books that includes characters that pop up in the story. Definitely moving those to the top of my to read list. I hope there are plans for Jessa and Walker in the future.

A love story spanning many generations with music and artistry.

I loved this story of Violet and Beck's relationship growing over the discovery of Isi and Wreck's paralleled. This novel of multi-generational families and their trials and tribulations had me on the edge of my seat. I'd love to learn more of Jessa and Walker's story and the future of the Frick land purchase...
