Classic wood combination

The combination of spruce and mahogany has been a popular option for acoustic guitars since the instruments were first introduced. The solid Sitka spruce top allows you to achieve maximum clarity, projection, and string-to-string definition. The mahogany back and sides impart a midrange-focused warm tone that's ideal for strumming. Many of the world's most iconic acoustic guitar designs share this same coupling of woods, and it's a favorite among Sweetwater guitarists.

Improved spruce bracing

The bracing inside of the WLO10SCE has been greatly reduced in mass. This minimizes the rigidity of the spruce top, and it allows the top to vibrate much more freely. These vibrations add a bigger, bolder, and more balanced tone to your Woodline WLO10SCE acoustic-electric. And the bracing, like the guitar's top, is made from solid Sitka spruce. The pairing of the Sitka top and bracing works to ensure the best tone possible.

Custom details

Not only is the tone of your WLO10SCE richer because of the scalloped Sitka spruce bracing, but the onboard Fishman Isys+ pickup system translates those tones to the live environment. Features like real rosewood binding and the use of NuBone for the string nut and bridge saddle are high-end touches not generally found on instruments in this price range. And a dual-action truss rod is installed for more precise and stable neck adjustments.

Excellent Guitar... Fantastic Deal!

I have been looking for another Washburn acoustic since regretting selling the one I had 8 or 10 years ago. Found this one on here listed as "used" with an in depth description of the condition as follows "Washburn Used Woodline O10SCE, Nat The bass side fretboard binding is scratched and chipped, exposing wood from the 19th-20th frets. There are fine scratches on various parts of this guitar that are not shown in pictures. These fine scratches do not show up well in pictures." It took like 2 weeks for it to get here (I called and inquired as to what the delay was, and they said SW was in the process of moving to a new facility... which I understood) and upon receiving the guitar, it was well packed in the original box almost as if never opened, and all paperwork/tags etc. were there and intact. I inspected and looked for the described "damage" and I tell ya, I found it, but practically needed a magnifying glass to see it! Barely and issue! And it absolutely is the same guitar as in the pictures because of distinctive grain on the back and the serial number. Set up was perfect right out of the box... plays like a dream! I put on fresh strings and fresh 9v battery, plugged it in (expecting a problem...) and electronics work perfectly! This thing sounds and plays like a Martin or Taylor 3 or 4 times the (regular) price. Made in China... who cares? Especially for the deal I got at $225! Even at the regular SW price, this is a sweet guitar and well worth it! I have an extra PRS SE case that it fits in snuggly, so win win WIN! Pull the trigger on this baby... you won't regret it! I gave 4.5 stars only for the slight delay in shipping... could have used it at a gig sooner, but no biggie considering the great deal!... Thanks Mike G. and the entire Sweetwater team!

Should have added Taylor to the list in previous review

In an effort to be more informative and less poetic, this guitar has characteristics reminiscent of the Taylor 200 series at a significantly lower price point. The differences are probably in the selected woods and hardware, but the build quality of this Washburn seems to be quite good and solid. Its appearance is an attractive understated elegance similar to the Taylor 200s. The playability and sound are exceptional for the price.

Inspirational!

this guitar is worth every dime, quarter or dollar. It is a delight to play. It has a smaller body (than a dreadnought) that sits beautifully in your lap like your favorite girlfriend, or boyfriend, (as the case may be). For a smaller body, the projection is astounding with very full and satisfying bass. The sonic spectrum of this guitar is harmonious. Plugged in and with the right amp, this guitar 'lights up the room'. Is it a Martin? Nope. Is it a Gibson? Nope, and I am sure that they have similar and equivalent instruments that are as exceptional, but don't count this one out. It plays like silk and sounds like angels.

Music background: Boy on strings for 50 years

Very nice playable neck!

I wanted a full bodied instrument that I felt would handle the rigors of "odd venue open mics" and keep up with other guitars (volume) when no PA or other amplification is in use. I prefer to leave my nice guitars home and my travel guitar just doesn't have the volume when played against bigger instruments (like in "picking circles"). After looking around for a while at many makes and models (all which would have worked) I chose this one and have not been disappointed. The neck is satin, very "playable" and it didn't need any adjustments. I gave it a good workout all over the neck and had no issues with strings fretting out - even when bending. The finish isn't as thick as many you'd find in this price range. The electronics work as expected. I bought a "yellow tag" model and saved some money. Overall it does a great job, sounds nice, plays nice, and totally met my expectations and needs.
