A Distinguished Acoustic from Washburn

The Washburn Deep Forest Ebony ACE is a fine-looking acoustic-electric guitar with comfortable playability and an ear-grabbing, modern voice. This 6-string acoustic features an okoume back and sides capped by a head-turning striped ebony top, resulting in clear, articulate sound with ample low-end muscle. What's more, the Deep Forest Ebony ACE's Auditorium-sized body delivers an outstanding blend of balance and projection, and its ergonomic cutaway makes reaching upper frets a piece of cake. You also get a rock-solid mahogany neck and an easy-playing fingerboard. And when it comes time to hit the stage, a Barcus-Berry LX-4 preamp ensures top-quality plugged-in tone. If you're looking for an alternative to the typical spruce-topped acoustic guitar, the Deep Forest Ebony ACE is guaranteed to please.

Intelligently selected tonewoods

The Deep Forest Ebony ACE was built for performance. Its striped ebony top delivers incredible sustain, intense clarity, and articulate bass, along with a concise attack that permits every note you play to ring out loud and clear. The Deep Forest Ebony ACE’s okoume back and sides produce a bright, sparkling sound, and its Auditorium-sized body exhibits an excellent combination of balance and projection. This guitar’s rock-solid mahogany neck produces an organic, mid-forward sound that’s guaranteed to thrill. This guitar’s intelligently selected tonewoods add up to an acoustic-electric guitar with a strong, modern voice and a harmonic-laden tone that works well for a variety of musical applications.

Top-shelf plugged-in tone

When it’s time to hit the stage, the Washburn Deep Forest Ebony ACE will be up to the task, thanks to its Barcus-Berry LX-4 preamp. Plug in, and you’ll experience a refined, natural-sounding acoustic tone with amazing presence and volume. And you can sculpt your tone to perfection with this preamp’s 4-band EQ. The guitarists here at Sweetwater appreciate the LX-4’s onboard tuner — it’s a lifesaver when you’re in the middle of a performance. A low battery indicator rounds out the LX-4’s robust feature set.

Really Good!

So this isn't as good as past washburns at this price point, but it does have a great unique sound which is why I buy washburn. I own 5 washburn acoustics.

Ive owned multiple top end Taylors and sold them all because their sound is so vanilla. Thr ACE is heavier than past GA styles bodies, but I think this is due to the Woods. We have gigged several times now ith it, and plugged in it sounds fantastic. I think once it's been played a while and gets a few adjustments from my luthiar..it'll be just perfect.

Guitars at this price are gonna need adjustments. They won't be Taylor perfect, but if you make the adjustments you'll have a much more unique sound.

Disappointing

Came with a rattle. So returned. But it didn't play well. Sharp frets. Very heavy wood btw. Poor sound as well.
