Outstanding Narration and a Great Story

The book drew me in from the beginning. This mystery / suspense has an interesting cast of character including some evil villains you will love to hate and flawed main characters you will root for. Once again Nick J. Russo knocked the narration out of the park and made a fantastic story even better. The mystery portion of the story is solved, but the relationship has a bit of a cliffhanger ending. I can't for the 2nd book!

Thank you for cliff hanger notice!

Book has very brutal scenes of torture. I don’t know how to say the story was good with such scenes. But we’ll written.
I wonder if Mr. Russo knows how much joy his narration gives people?

The narration couldn’t save this one.

Nick J. Russo did the best that he could with this material. Buying the audiobook definitely helped me get through this story, but I had to go back and read several parts for myself in the ebook because I doubted my hearing. Every time, I found that it did indeed say what he said. So. Yikes. My review for the ebook is available separately on Amazon and Goodreads. My final note on the audiobook is that it contains graphic depictions of sex and violence so be mindful of sensitive or young listeners if you're not wearing earbuds or headphones.

Great story and narration

There is a lot to unwrap with this first book in the series. I will say, I am very much looking forward to books 2 and 3 to complete (I believe) the series.Adam and Eagle had been best friends since they were children. Adam is, frankly speaking, a hot mess. I won't go into it all, as that is an integral part of the book. However, his best friend Eagle doesn't know that Adam is bisexual, even though they have been living together (as roommates) for several years, since Adam's last marriage imploded. Eagle, meanwhile, has his head on his shoulders, due to a son he had very young, who helped to get him on the right path. These two men had at least one "experiment" in their past, that Adam just basically ignored, then never spoke to Eagle about. All the while, Eagle has been in love with is best friend since they were kids. See? Hot mess = Adam. And it only gets worse as the book concludes on a cliffhanger. The main plot, with the serial murders is intriguing, and very well done. I will warn, there are some graphic descriptions that some readers may not find palatable as they read. It isn't for the weak of stomach. Very well researched and written, though, so just know you will be drawn in, if you don't mind reading these descriptions. Also, be aware this does end on a cliffhanger, sending you right into Book 2.Nick J. Russo does a great job with his narration, as always, keeping his dialects, and voices distinct, so that the listener can delve even deeper into the story. I always feel that great audio narration creates an even better love for the story, than just reading it. (Of course, the opposite can be true with not as good narration.) Nick does a great job of creating that environment to sink your teeth into that story.Story: 4.5 pieces of eye candyNarration: 4 pieces of eye candy. I did receive code for honest review

Get in! Sit down! Shut up! And Hold on! 🤪

Warrior's Way
MMy Thoughts Confessions and Review:

Get in, Sit down, Shut up, and Hold on! THAT should have been the title of this action-packed, stylized thriller. A serial killer is preying on gay couples and the scenes this killer leaves behind for authorities to untangle are some of the worst experts in the field have ever seen. Because of this, the FBI has recruited the help of a team in New Mexico they hope will flush out the killer. Ex-Army Ranger turned homicide detective, Eagle Woodard and criminal-profiler, Doctor Adam Coulter will pose as a gay couple about to wed while also pretending to be unfaithful.

This book was fantastic! Now, I must confess, I was a little afraid going in, simply because thrillers are some of the hardest stories to write, but this (new-to-me) author pleasantly shocked and surprised me. Okay, so what you NEED to know... This book is graphic in all its details. I mean c'mon, we are dealing with a sadistically deranged serial killer who kills same-sex couples and leaves horrifically gruesome scenes in their wake. So, if details of blood and gore are not your thing, you may need to skip this one.
There are also scenes of non-con and dub-con, and a torture scene involving an MC. These are all important and move the story forward. The book is the first in a trilogy, so it doesn't resolve itself in book one. Never fear, however, book two is already out, (my review on that one is coming soon) and I read, book three will be "hand to eye-ball ready" very soon. I will most definitely be on the lookout for that one!

I enjoyed this story and the author's imaginative style. I found myself drawn in from the start and lost myself in this world. There were quite a few, "WHAT THE..." moments, and I most definitely did NOT see that ending coming.

If you're a fan of thriller, serial killer, criminal-profiler TV shows, books, and movies you will truly fall for this. Think, "Criminal Minds" meets "Silence of the Lambs" or "Kiss the Girls," with an LGBTQ spin. Oh, MMy Gah! What a rush!

As for the sMMexy Nick J. Russo narrating this bad boy I've got two words... MORE PLEASE!🎧💕🎧
