Archer & Everleigh #2

Wanting You Close

Rate this book
I never imagined my new roommate would be the man I’d actually fall for. Though I don’t get close to the people I sleep with, he’s been my exception. Archer acts emotionally unavailable while he focuses on starting over, but our connection is too strong to ignore.

He’s rugged on the outside and sweet on the inside—the opposite of my usual type. I see the way his eyes gaze up and down my body, making it harder to keep my feelings in check. Knocking down his walls is no easy task, especially with my brother interfering, but I refuse to give up.

When lines are crossed and emotions bubble over, trouble finds us. We both have pasts that have leaked into our present—now I’m scared it’ll destroy the one secret we’ve been keeping.

WANTING YOU CLOSE is book 2 in the Archer & Everleigh duet and must be read in order.

SO EXCITED TO FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENS! After the epic cliffhanger in the first installment of this duet, I was dying to see what would happen with Everleigh and if we would see a case of amnesia – thankfully Brooke and Lyra didn’t do that to us! Archer thinks he knows who is behind Everleigh’s stabbing, but these authors know that nothing is ever that simple in these books and takes us through a game of cat and mouse where Everleigh keeps getting targeted and things keep happening to her while Archer also continues to receive text messages and photos of not only Everleigh, but his sister and niece as well. When we think we know who’s behind everything, we find that it’s only partially true and there is still someone out there, but we also get to see both Everleigh and Archer’s pasts laid to rest. These authors write some captivating books, and this one falls right in line with the rest. I can’t wait to see if they continue this series or if they move onto one that is intertwined, as I am loving this particular series from them! This book is definitely a must read – along with every other book from these ladies!

I lived thirty-three years before I knew the real definition of happiness, and that wasn’t until I met you. - Archer

What a perfect ending to Archer and Everleigh's story. I wholeheartedly loved how their story went. I think it was sweet but also full of suspense. I loved that, no matter what, they stick together and overcome the obstacles together. I don't like it when one MC decided to let go of the other MC because they didn't want that person to suffer or overcome that obstacle together. F*&$ that s#*t you know

This man is my other half, my best friend, the only person who really knows who I truly am, and I’m never giving him up.

There was more suspense in this one as they try to uncover all that was happening around them and to them. But the scenes where it's just the two of them together is my favourite and one that I continuously anticipate. I can't say too much without spoiling it. So you just have to read them.

Kennedy Fox made Archer and Everleigh walk through emotional hell for their happily ever after. Wanting You Close was full of jaw dropping twists and it's probably the steamiest book I have read by Kennedy Fox!
.
Ex con Archer Boone is trying to restart his life in Lawton Ridge with help of his friend Tyler Blackwood and he falls in love with Everleigh, Tyler's sister and his roommate. But Everleigh and Archer both have troubled pasts. And enemies are coming at them from all sides. Will they survive the trial? Or is it better if they just part ways?
.
Archer is really the full package of book boyfriend. He is sexy. Alpha. Possessive. Protective. Super caring. He treats Everleigh like a queen. In and out of bedroom. And he risked everything to take out the danger threatening Everleigh and his family. Everleigh is a firecracker. She is so fierce and sassy. And she has no filter because seriously the most inappropriate things come out of her mouth and she doesn't hesitate to go for what she wants. But the back to back accidents made an impact on her cheerful and strong personality. And that's where Archer scored major point. He was supportive, encouraging and also so careful. They really complimented each other. The tension was running all through the story and added to it's appeal. And holy wow the chemistry was just too hot to handle. Archer and Everleigh definitely set the bar high!
.
I enjoyed Wanting You Close by Kennedy Fox a lot and it's an one click for you if you love steamy small town romance or brother's best friend trope!

Wanting You Close started right where the previous book abruptly ended. I was really eager to get some answers and this sequel didn't disapoint in the least!

The romance between Everleigh and Archer was even more stunning with a deep connection I could feel across the pages. This couple was so in sync in everything and so perfectly balanced. It was magnificent to watch their every interactions between humor, sass, passion and support! Those two shared some pretty steamy moments as well as more profound ones.

"𝒀𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒕𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝒉𝒂𝒔 𝒏𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒉𝒐𝒘 𝒑𝒐𝒔𝒔𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝑰 𝒂𝒎 𝒐𝒇 𝒚𝒐𝒖."

I liked how Archer was more open and embraced his new life with his woman. He was so protective, thoughtful and sweet, and an alpha in the bedroom. He certainly didn't shy away from declaring his love to Everleigh time and time again. I enjoyed how Everleigh was also changed by their relationship. She was still lively and a little over the top at time, but she also knew Archer was her future and hold tighly to him.

This second installment of their duet was high on suspense with an intrigue that kept putting obstacles in the way of their happily ever after. It was a twist after another and kept me glued to my kindle. Kennedy Fox concluded the Lawton Ridge Series on a bang with this fantastic novel. I'll certainly miss all these amazing characters that made the series so addictive!

Everleigh & Archers past just won’t go away. Everleigh can’t catch a break after recovering from a serious injury & Archer keeps getting threats every couple of weeks. Finally after the most recent threat Archer is done and decides it’s time to take matters into his own hands, if he wants any ability to move forward in his life. But when Archer takes things in his own hands does that come at a cost?

Everleigh and Archer are hands down my favorite couple when it comes to the Lawton Ridge Series. I got the answers I needed for their story in this book and the spicy scenes 🥵. But this was also such a great way to strap up the entire series

A perfect blend of sweet and sassy mixed with good ol' down and dirty. Wanting You Close was the perfect ending to the overall Lawton Ridge series while still allowing Archer and Everleigh time to have their moment in the spotlight.

From the very beginning Archer and Everleigh's chemistry was off the charts making their love firey and bold. They've completed one another on every level which made them a total joy to read.

Even though both of these characters had a past that was creeping in and trying to steal their happiness, neither of them allowed it to snuff out their joy. I loved that they continued to live in the moment and took charge of their surroundings instead of cowering in fear.

Everleigh is the absolute best and I love her take charge attitude in all situations. Because of her personality she not only allowed for free dialogue, which in turn came open communication (whether it's with her employees, friends, or in her love life) her frank personality in or out of the bedroom allows for a very healthy relationship. She is extremely likable and Everleigh is by far one of my favorite all time book heroines.

If I already didn't want to move down to Lawton Ridge for Everleigh's friendship, I'd want to move there for all the eye candy. Archer is not only super sweet and loving, but yummy to gawk at too. All these southern men are lucky in love and this series couldn't have wrapped up any better.

This is the second half of a book duet and shouldn't be read as a standalone. It picks up right after the first part. While each book duet in the series does stand on its own, I'd also say that as a reader and fan of the series it is more enjoyable to read them all together and in order since the characters do live in a small town and are all connected. That is, however, my personal opinion.

Wanting You Close was an amazing follow-up to Forcing You Away!

The suspense heightens, the chemistry between the characters continues to be scorching, the love is beautiful. And I gotta say Archer has got to be the sexiest, dirtiest KF hero! And he is also incredibly sweet and romantic!

I loved these two’s journey, even though they do not have it easy at all when it comes to things outside their relationship. It’s hardship after hardship. Incident after incident. My heart hurt for these two, specially Everleigh. But she is so strong and badass. I love her! She’s fun, adventurous as hell, and a sweetheart. Honestly, I loved both main characters a whole of a lot. They definitely became new favs from KF.

Wanting You Close also wrapped up this series beautifully. We get to see the other two couples super happy and achieving amazing milestones in their lives. It was very heartwarming to read some of those scenes.

I usually don't like cliffhangers but I have been hooked by Kennedy Fox's duets since This is War and This is Love and Archer and Everleigh's duet doesn't make me feel any different. This is book 2 of the duet and it's full of Archer and Everleigh's steamy scenes which I think they deserve them after Archer tried to push Everleigh away in Book 1, LOL. Gosh, I think Everleigh is the most positive thinking character I have ever read. Her life is in danger so many times but she's still strong, lives her life and do whatever she wants. Archer still makes me swoon with his protectiveness and his possessiveness is HOT. Their story also has more dangerous sense than the 2 previous duets in the series because this time both Everleigh and Archer have their own enemies who want to hurt them so my brain keeps working and guessing how their stalkers will reveal themselves. Don't worry though because this is a romance not a mystery one so the plot doesn't that hard to guess but it still makes me feel intriguing and excited enough. I'm engaged in this book so much I feel like I have a hangover after finished reading it... again. I love their small town and loyalty. I love their sense of humour and friendships. I am going to miss them so much since this is the last book of the series and the authors don't have plans to write any duet for a while.

I think my heart has melted and been taken by Acher. But if then again there might other things of this book that are making me feel squishy. Good lord the spice on this is off the charts. A great end to the Lawton Ridge group but now I’m curious on a few other characters and what the future holds for them.

A crazy, wild, choatic yet hilarious, romantic, sweet and steamy AF story that was worthy of Everleigh and Archer!

Wanting you Close is the final chapter to Everleigh and Archer’s story. As well as the finale to the Lawton Ridge series. It continues off from the cliffhanger in Forcing You Away.

Duo Kennedy Fox wrote a finale worthy of my fav couple from the whole of the series. Giving us bits and pieces of all that is needed to keep your focus on the narrative throughout. All the way to the very end without even realising it’s finished.

I knew Everleigh and Archer were going to be my favourite couple and this book proved it even more. Everything about them had me gripped onto their story as well as watching their relationship bloom even further as their journey went along.
Honestly watching their relationship grow throughout their duet stories was my favourite of all. It was emotionally charged with being a thriller that was filled with drama, suspense and mystery considering all that went down in Wanting You Close, trying to figure out who caused Everleigh’s accident and was after her and Archer.
I loved the lovey-dovey affection that both had for each other, always wanting to be together and even when they were apart they couldn’t stop thinking of one another with the constant messages to one another asking how the other was doing and whatnot. On top of that the possessiveness that Archer had towards Everleigh was totally swoon worthy and just so freakin’ cute.
The steam WOW!
From all the books I have read so far of Kennedy Fox duo, Everleigh and Archer’s duet series was definitely the most HOTTEST and SPICIEST! Just when I though it couldn’t get any FIERY, Kennedy Fox upped the ante with the constant explosions of the tremendous amount of desire-full hunger that the couple had for one another. Never being able to keep their hands off each other, with never getting enough and always wanting to get down and dirty. While it was SEXY, at the same time it had moments of being comedic too making it hilarious to read.

It’s safe to say Everleigh and Archer are not only my favourite couple from Lawton Ridge series, but their duet series was definitely my favourite too. And that epilogue at the end was chef’s kiss, totally worthy of the couple and the HEA they deserved!
A job well done to Kennedy Fox, for bringing us Everleigh and Archer and the whole series of Lawton Ridge.

When Kennedy Fox writes a duet, they write a duet that leaves you wanting more after the first one. We had a jaw dropping cliffhanger with “Forcing You Away” which had me wanting more. The suspense and steam was brought in this story. We get the answers that were so desperately needed from the first book.

Archer and Everleigh are absolutely hot together and might be the hottest couple since Travis and Viola in “Checkmate Duet” series. Archer is a sweet guy with a very protective streak that I loved. He has a dirty mouth that had me fanning myself as I read it.

Everleigh has grown so much from the other books in the series and she’s become a favorite. Independent, doesn’t apologise for what she wants and keeps Archer on his toes. These two went through a lot in such a short time. And the epilogue made me so happy.

I’m sad that all their stories have been told but they are all instant rereads for me. I’m looking forward to the next series Kennedy Fox will write. No doubt it will be just as steamy and wonderful.

The perfect conclusion for Lawton Ridge and Everleigh and Archer’s story!

We pick up immediately where we left off in Forcing You Away, and thank god! After that ending I NEEDED answers!! Archer and Everleigh are so well written these characters feel so real, it makes their story that much more compelling.

This slow burn, forbidden love, roommates to lovers romance was everything I have ever needed. Forcing You Away/Wanting You Close have that typical Kennedy Fox sparkle, I absolutely could not put this book down and you won’t want to either! This author team is so talented I have devoured every single one of their books!

I was on the edge of my seat and just when you think you have everything figured out the plot takes an unexpected turn. I absolutely adored this book and Archer and Everleigh.

While they were absolutely adorable together they were also incredible HOT!!! I’m talking STEAMY!!! You will not be disappointed! RUN to get this book, you need it in your life!

A totally satisfying conclusion to the Lawton Ridge series and the second half of Everleigh and Archer’s duet. This couple have faced a lot in their pasts, and their pasts still aren’t finished with them as Everleigh recovers from an attack and Archer continues to get new threatening messages.

The sexual chemistry between Archer and Everleigh is intense. Their relationship continues to grow despite the drama and threats.

This book brings answers to the suspenseful storylines that were left hanging from the first half of their duet. Friends and family continue to be an important part of their life. Archer and Everleigh were my favorite couple of the series and I was sad to finish their story…only because it’s so good I didn’t want it to end.

I received an ARC from the author and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

10/10 would recommend....IF you've read the beginning of Archer and Everleigh's story in Forcing You Away! If you haven't read that then start there and then immediately read this because you're welcome.

Archer and Everleigh are just such a firecracker of a couple. They are push and pull at it's finest. After reading Forcing You Away I felt that I was just constantly chomping at the bit for this book to drop! And let me tell you, it was definitely worth the wait! The conclusion is just perfect, the writing is perfection as always, and the couple themselves are just everything.

And can we just take a moment to savor the sexiness of this cover?! It is a perfect representation of Archer and Everleigh!

Wow, what an amazing conclusion to this duet! Everleigh & Archer have got to be the hottest pairing I've read yet! 5 hot stars for this one!
We pick up right where we left off in Forcing You Away, and wow, what a ride this duet of authors takes you on! Everleigh and Archer are still being watched by someone, threatening texts, weird things going on. When things really hit them, Archer wonders if his being around Everleigh is more a hinderance than good. These two are hot as heck between the sheets, and the love they share is so evident. But is it enough to weather all the wrong going on around them?
Grab this book and enjoy! I couldn't put it down as with all their duets! You will love this one so much!

I received this free eARC novel from the author. This is my honest review.

It was so nice to get the sequel to this series so quickly after book 1 was released to see how everything worked out from that jaw dropping ending. Archer and Everleigh are fantastic characters and I loved their story. There is a lot of mystery, a lot of twists and turns, and a lot of drama that happens. It keeps the reader on the edge of their seat!

This was a great story line and I'm glad I got the chance to read this series!

I was on the edge of my seat waiting for this drop to my kindle and as soon as it did, I threw my reading plans out the window because I HAD to know how Archer and Everleigh's story played out. The angst was ramped up because the secrets from both their pasts come home to roost and the tension is high. Not only the that but the steam gets turned up a notch or two as well and I love seeing Archer and Everleigh coping with the outside stress together and that sure makes their bonds tighter. I cannot wait to see what this duo comes out with next but I guarantee I'll eat it up. I volunteered to read and review an early copy of this. All opinions are my own.

Wanting You Close is the second half of Archer and Everleigh's duet, and it definitely picked up right where it left off. And it didn't slow down at all. The whole story keeps you on the edge of your seat, trying to figure out the mystery of what's been going on. Even though I did kind of see some of the reveals coming, I couldn't put the story down and I enjoyed every minute of it.

I have also just gotta say, Archer and Everleigh quite possibly are the dirtiest talking KF couple ever. They definitely had a crazy hot chemistry together, and I loved how Everleigh didn't shy away from voicing what she wanted.

I honestly don't think there is a book that Kennedy Fox would write that I wouldn't read. As soon as this book was on my kindle, I started reading and I didn't stop until it was finished. I was literally hooked from start to finish and didn't move one, not even for food!

The conclusion to Archer & Everleigh's story was everything that I wanted and more. I cannot wait for more from this author 🥰

This was the perfect ending to the duet and the series. After the cliffhanger of the first book, I was so happy to finally get to read this one and the conclusion does not disappoint. I couldn’t put this book down until I found out what happened!

I absolutely loved Archer and Everleigh’s story. The book kept me thinking and trying to guess who was behind some terrible events that keep happening. Who would try to come between these two? Who would hurt them?

These two are on fire, their chemistry off the charts. I can’t get enough of them and you won’t either. Everleigh also makes me want to deck out my whole house in Christmas gear. She’s a force to be reckoned with with her holiday spirit and I’m here for it.

We also get some cameos from characters in previous books and I love getting a sneak peek into their lives now. So that’s a fun surprise.

This series is best read in order and I highly recommend them all!

The conclusion of Archer and Everleigh's story did not disappoint. We were left with a cliffy that has us readers wanting more stat! The the constant unknowns throughout their journey kept us on our toes. Regardless of what they were facing their relationship continued to grow into something more; however, the the challenge of being on the down low is not an easy feat. Since the start they were both forewarned that they are off limits to each other. That is becoming harder the more they get to know each other and the closer they get.

Their story was full of angst, intense chemistry, mystery, and suspense. You think you know but then something else comes up that has you wondering. Author Kennedy Fox knows their readers and enjoys to take us on a ride. Archer will have you swooning many times over and Everleigh was a woman that you cannot help but easily fall for. Their banter with one another was too cute. It was a sweet ending and sooo looking forward to more from these duo authors.

Archer and Everleigh’s story continues to be full of twists, turns, suspense and plenty of spice.

The past has caught up to them, but can the overcome the skeletons in their closets and have the happily ever after that they deserve? Archer and Everleigh are both determined to fight back and find out who is tormenting and threatening them.

The chemistry between Archer and Everleigh continues to be off the charts. I absolutely love their relationship. Archer is insanely protective of her, even more so with everything that is going on in their lives. I love that Everleigh isn’t just going to sit back and hide. She isn’t afraid to fight back and she isn’t afraid to live her life.

I loved the conclusion to Archer and Everleigh’s story, along with the conclusion to the series as a whole. It’s been a journey from the very beginning of the entire series until the very end but everything was worth it in the end.

If you’re looking for a small town, suspenseful, spicy romance this is one to read!

Oh Man! This was the perfect ending for Archer & Everleigh’s story. It had me at the edge of my seat the whole time. From the shocking cliffhanger in book one to the happily ever after, I was captivated by Archer and Everleigh. Their chemistry was hot and passionate. I loved their witty banter and cute , sweet moments. It was full of suspense and many twists and turns. Poor Everleigh couldn’t catch a break, but she has a wonderful man to lover her and a supportive group of friends. She was the best heroine in this series! She was strong and brave and always came out on top no matter what was thrown her way. Archer was just boyfriend material. He was just swoon worthy. I love how protective of Everleigh he was. This was an entertaining, thrilling , steamy duet, I just couldn’t get enough of. I would definitely recommend you read this series, if you love witty, romantic suspense with lots of steam.

5 Star Wanting You Close (Archer & Everleigh Duet # 2)- Lawton Ridge Duet Series, Book 6)) by Kennedy Fox

AUDIO REVIEW:

After the way the previous book finished I have to say I was on tender hooks picking up Wanting You Close. I’m not sure where to start with this review. What a gripping, emotional story that held me captive from the first word to the last.

The performance by narrators Lia Langola and Tor Thom did a wonderful job bringing these characters to life for me and certainly did justice to the story that Kennedy Fox wove. The tension, passion and love was conveyed well by the narrators and I fell in love with Archer and Everleigh even more as their bond remained strong despite outside influences trying to destroy them.

This is a love story that built slowly, with some angst and was well written. I fell hard and fast for Archer, he is such a wonderful hero. There were equal parts of suspense and heat the ending warmed my heart.

Everleigh and Archer have earned the ranks of one of my favorite KF couples with their duet. Wanting You Close is book two of their duet and book 6 in the Lawton Ridge Series. Their story closes out the series and gives us readers much needed closure.

While Forcing You Away left us on a hell of a cliffhanger, Wanting You Close kept me on toes the whole time. The suspense kept me turning page after page and the chemistry and heat these two give off give Travis and Viola a run for their money!!!! It was the perfect mix of dirty, sweet with just enough southern sass. Archer is swoon worthy and Everleigh keeps him on his toes the whole time. I loved this series and am gonna miss these characters.
