Works great on my Newfoundland puppy. Grabs tons of hair with each stroke. Though she is still learning to tolerate the whole grooming process and does not fully love being brushed yet, it does’t seem to hurt her. Will buy again when this brush needs to be replaced, though it seems pretty tough and well constructed. Her periodic chewing and biting at it durning brusing has yet to cause any real damage to it.

I have been using this type of pin brush on my long hair cat for all the time that i've had her; she loves the feel of the pins smoothing and removing extra fur and massaging down to her skin.
However, most of these brushes come with a bristle brush on the 2nd side; no use at all for a cat.
But the pet hair remover on the 2nd side of this brush is absolutely magical! it removes her fur from my clothes and from places she sleeps (e.g., fleece blankets on my bed). it works fantastically in any direction and it's easy to remove the accumulated fur from the hair remover side!
One of my best purchases ever ... i now have 3 of them in different places around the house and i'm buying 2 more for gifts to friends with long hair cats.
