So happy with this purchase! After a cross country move, my 3 year old is totally confused about where we live, and doesn't understand why we can't pay a quick visit to our old home in Seattle. I was looking for a map of the US that we could somehow mark to show the places he's been (he's quite well traveled for his age), and that would give him some kind of idea what's in between the East and West Coasts. I was intrigued when I found this scratch off option. We received it today and got to work scratching off the 9 states that he has lived in or visited. I chose this Amazon branded set because it came with so many accessories for a great price. I used the long precision scratcher tool to scratch off the outlines of the states, and he worked at scratching off what remained in the middle. This map is plastic, which is perfect, because my son was a little rough with the tools. Texas has some deep grooves now, but had this been paper, it would have ripped apart. This kept us busy for a good amount of time during our quarantine boredom; I was able to tell him about the trips we took to each of the states and we talked about the places we would travel to once we are post-COVID. I was so pleased with this map that I am sending one to my niece and plan on getting one to save for my younger son when he is old enough to enjoy it. Highly recommend!

My girl absolutely loves it but......... she's bugging the hell out of me now because we haven't vacationed in that many states.
Now to the actual review:
As you scratch certain states off, the lines definitely don't line up haha.
Some of the map was a little scratched when I got it but these days nothing seems to come perfect. Especially from Amazon. Anyway, awesome idea, beautiful map, somewhat quality production so I can't complain too much. It's not as flimsy as a loose leaf sheet of paper but slightly thinner than poster board. Shouldn't be $14 but if you want something you'll buy it & as long as people know this, they'll jack the prices up on things. Either buy it or don't I guess *shrugs*. Probably the most honest accurate review on this product that you'll get.

We have this scratch off map mounted in our travel trailer in a 12x18 frame. The kids love it! They take turns scratching off the stares we visit. It can be easily scratched and comes with a cloth pouch that has a scratching tool and stickers to Mark important locations.
