Product Description

The LEGO Ideas 21318 Tree House is a meticulously detailed 3036-piece building set for playing or exhibiting. This complex model is for experienced LEGO builders and will make the whole family happy. It includes a landscape base and a LEGO treehouse with three rooms: a master bedroom, a bathroom and a children's bedroom. The landscape base includes a picnic table to build with 4 seats for figurines and various accessories for picnics, as well as elements to build: a stream, a swing (suspended from the tree), a campfire, a hidden gem, plants, bushes and a ladder to climb into the cabin. The tree comes with two sets of interchangeable leaf elements: green leaves for summer and yellow and brown leaves for fall. The foliage consists of more than 180 botanical elements. These elements, as well as the various plant elements of the base, are all made from polyethylene plastic of plant origin. The top of the tree as well as the roofs of the rooms of the hut can be removed for easy access and play. This model has many features encouraging play, such as a table and picnic chairs to build a swing, a campfire, a treasure map and a hidden gem to organize a treasure hunt, as well as a winch that works, attached to the balcony of the master bedroom. A great gift, this unique creative building set includes mom, dad, kids and a bird, to bring life to fun family scenarios. It also includes a booklet with assembly instructions and information about the LEGO fan and designer who created this LEGO Ideas kit.     This Lego set was fun to build I was a little intimidated by the 16 and up rating but there was no need. The build was not to simple but not difficult enough to be frustrating. I have built Lego sets that are frustrating because have confusing instructions based on the angles in the workbook and I often need to take a break when this happens to get a new perspective. But this Lego set was just difficult to be entertaining. The detail on this Lego set was very precise. I enjoyed all the plant life and the detail in the rooms based on the interest. I also enjoyed the little hidden details like there is a hidden gem and a map that goes with it. It came in a large box which I was surprised at and it came out taller than I expected. But this was a pleasant surprise. I really enjoy it. The way this Lego set looks it has a playfulness to it as well as lots of details like the swing and the picnic table as well as the bird's nest. I do wish it had more animal life because it would be nice to have a squirrel or a frog by the river. This was overall my favorite Lego set I've ever created and it's sitting on my desk so I can always look at it.

    I am a 60 year old woman - this is my SECOND lego set! Lol! My first was the "Friends" TV show set I got for Christmas. I got it just because I've always liked that show, and thought it might be fun to build. I had so much fun putting that together, and seeing how much it looked like the TV show set and all the detail! It was a relatively small Lego set, and I was really kind of sad when I was done! But, I really didn't expect to do any more lego sets. My hubby was amused that I enjoyed "Legos" and surprised me with this Treehouse set of over 3000 pieces! Usually, in the evenings, you'll find me crocheting, painting or doing some other craft while I watch TV with my hubby, but now you find me playing engineer and building legos! Lego building is a first for me! (Except for the little things I've done with my kids and grands.) I'm really enjoying all the DETAIL that is in these sets! Its a surprise to not really know what you are building, until the final piece is in place - and all of a sudden you see its a bed or a coo-coo clock, a bird house or a toilet! Lol! Its an adventure every time I complete a new step. I've had to learn how to read the instructions, and determine where each one goes. I've had to take it apart a few times because I did it wrong. But, its taught me to pay closer attention to the small details. It has been so fun. I'm about 1/2 way into construction and look forward to seeing the completed piece. However, not to seeing this adventure come to an end! I secretly caught my hubby perusing Amazon for another set for me last night! I guess this proves - you can't be too old for Legos! I can imagine I'm going to have to watch my grandkids - that they won't destroy my masterpiece! Because, it will be a very tempting toy! This is a beautiful treehouse with lots of great imagination built in! Love it!
