    Great sound and good fit

    Great sound and good fit
I've been a big fan of Jaybird earbuds and I've had several over the years. I've always liked the sound of their bluetooth (corded) earbuds and have found them to all be very rugged. These bluetooth un-corded earbuds carry on the tradition of great sound which is clean, present and without artificial boosting. You can download the app and get pretty specific control over all of the frequencies and I'd say all of the presets provide plenty of starting points for tailoring the ultimate sound of the earbuds to your liking. If you like a lot of bass then you should be pretty happy with the bass boost because it maintains clarity through the push. The one thing - which is true for all earbuds - is that they have to be almost perfectly fitted in your ear for you to clearly hear all of the lower frequencies. The Run XT's come with plenty of sizes for earbuds and ear hooks. I find that one of my ears needs a larger earbud than the other and the reverse is true for the ear hooks - so you're going to have to play around with them to get the right fit. The hooks are essential in keeping the buds in place.Once I found the right fit for my earbuds, I've had no issues with them coming out of my ears at the gym. This is where separate buds are better than corded (Wireless) since there's no cord to get caught on gym equipment or get pulled out as I move my head around. The only thing I haven't liked - and the reason for deducting one star - is that you have to decide for the controls to be either skip ahead/back/play/pause or volume up/down/skip using the software. Is there a way to do all of those at the same time? Maybe a software/firmware update can address this in the future. I don't think this is a deal-breaker of an issue, as I think these buds have exceptional sound and good battery life - but something to keep in mind that there is a functional trade-off. I've found myself switching the functionality back and forth depending on if I'm listening to a music podcast (where I wouldn't skip tracks but want control over the sound level) and playlists (where I skip tracks a lot).
