About this item
- Hands-Free Water Removal: WAYNE model EEAUP250 has iSwitch technology, which activates the pump once the water level is above 1-3/4 inch and automatically turns off when the water drops to below 1/2 inch
- Automatic Pumping: Water level must be at least 1-3/4 inch for the pump to turn on, prime, and operate; water levels less than 1-3/4 inch won’t activate the iSwitch to start the pump, so manual activation will be needed
- Efficient Design: Reinforced and sealed submersible design; once activated, the pump removes water down to 1/2” on the surface
- Additional Features: Able to handle flat areas like basements, driveways, etc. as well as tight spaces such as window wells and fish tanks
- Quality You Deserve: Proudly assembled in the USA for quality you can trust; since the iSwitch turns off the pump when the water is below 1/2 inch there is no need to unplug it; this pump will not run dry

My only 2 minor complaints are as follows:
- screwing on the hose takes more time than it should. I'm not sure if the threads are off or what it is, but it's just not easy. Works once on, though, and I've only had to do it a few times as I've moved the bucket and/or hose.
- I think it would keep up with ultra-heavy rain better with a larger hose so I'm going to try that soon. Likely not the pumps fault to be clear. But we've had multiple days where it's rained HARD and the pump couldn't keep up at first, though again this may because of my hose diameter. But overall, this thing does its job amazingly well.
-
One thing i noticed (and this may be common with all pumps but I just don't have enough experience) is that dips in the hose tend to be problematic and the pump often won't turn off because although there's no water left it hasn't completely cleared all of the water in the hose and it keeps going down back to the pump. So it definitely works better when the hose is straight up (or at a constant angle) rather than up and down.
It's not a quiet pump but since it's outside I can barely hear it and it doesn't bother me.
The only criticism I have so far is that the automatic actuator seems to be an add-on and not designed to integrate well with the pump. For example, it's just bolted on to the side of the pump and the actuator/sensor has a separate power cord that the pump's piggy back's on. Seems to be the same setup as if I'd bought an external switch for the pump.
Final notes: I chose this pump over a sump pump because the sump pumps tend to be activated when the water level is pretty deep (using a float mechanism) and don't pump down as low. Obviously that's because they're intended to be placed in a sump pit where water will collect.
We live in an older geothermal designed home. There is a stone lined or filled pit under the foundation that our heating and cooling ducts run through before the air enters the house.
Being in south Louisiana where you can see the water table in a crawfish chimney, it collects ground water in the rainy seasons. It can flood your ductwork. You essentially need a bilge or sump pump to clear it out.
The pumps we had before had the external bladder float switch that would not kick on until there was more than 4 inches of water down there. Let me tell you how that humidity can grow mold, everywhere!
This rascal does not like water at all, it wants it gone. When it was first installed, it would draw the water down and fall into short cycles because the water would seep out of the pit into the sump slowly and it has a hair trigger. I didn't want it working so hard so I put it on a 15 minute incremental timer. It runs for 15 minutes every hour.
I'm more than impressed at how it has performed for over a year now. Humidity levels inside the house are not perfect but they are much better than before.
Pretty sure it can't handle dirty water very well but we are lucky. The water in the pit is a crystal clear, ground and stone filtered, constant 62 degrees. Lol, it's probably cleaner than the well water we use! Sometimes I feel like we are wasting it dumping it on a remote part of the property. Maybe we need a koi pond... but the pump has been a beast!
Top reviews from other countries
I had a window well on the low side of the slope in our land. With the warm temperature after fresh snow, all the snow started melting and coming towards the house and filling the window well.
This pump is AMAZING compared to a traditional sump pump. It is self priming (vs some sump pumps that MUST be submerged 6-18") !!! This point cannot be understated, the self priming is key, and another key is that there is no float system. The system is controlled with a simple water contact system, when there is water (it detects at about 1") it starts the pump.
No wiggling, no priming - it just works.
With other pumps I had to check on the pumps many times because despite the pumps being in a well, they would only work when the water was at level or above the pump...at which point the water was also coming into my house through the window seals. With this new pump no problem! Just reliable service life!!!
Dont hesitate, if you need a pump for shallow water activation (like I did for a window well) !!!!
However, if you need a pump for a traditional sump pit and can allow for 18+" of water accumulation and a float system, I would recommend a different pump as this one may cycle too often and burn out overtime in a sump pit.
We like the fact that it has a water sensor that turns on and off automatically.
