Being passionate about the outdoors, our goal 15 years ago was to create a roof rack for hauling our gear that was more convenient and cost-effective than traditional systems.
The criteria we set was that the roof rack must fit most vehicles, be quick to set-up and provide the same level of safety and security as metal roof bars.
In 2006 we launched the HandiRack and since then it has become the choice of outdoor enthusiasts all around the world.

We Love Inflatable Technology
The HandiRack takes just minutes to secure to the car. Then simply add air to create a super robust universal roof rack system.

A detailed User Manual is included with each HandiRack. These additional tips are designed to help you to maximise the performance of your HandiRack and make the installation process as effortless as possible.
- Before installation make sure the car roof is clean and dry
- Always install the HandiRack on your vehicle deflated
- Ensure that the fitting strap is secured and tensioned before inflating. This process helps to create a stable connection between the HandiRack and the roof of the car.
- Once inflated correctly the bars will not move. If there is movement, repeat the installation process.
- In hot temperatures, do not over inflate the bars as the air inside will expand. In cold termperatures, add a little more air.
- In wet conditions secure the V flaps to the underside of the HandiRack using the Velcro pads
- Use the Bow and Stern lines to secure your load to the front and rear of your vehicle to maximise stability during transit

Customers are mixed about the air capacity of the transport rack. Some mention that it stays inflated and mounts easily, while others say that the tubes deflated noticeably. The air capacity will inflate and deflata with altitude and temperature changes, so plan ahead and stop every so often to release air. The rack itself never deflats, but the tubes do not inflat.

The first thing I noticed when taking these racks out of the package was that they are of a high quality material and don't feel cheap at all. They are easy to strap onto the car, and you can have them attached and inflated within a matter of minutes. The included air pump isn't really high quality and feels kind of cheap, but it gets the job done. I've had these racks on and off of both mine and my wife's cars several times and they couldn't be easier to use. Also, my car has a moon roof and I've had absolutely no problems with putting these on over it so far. The farthest I've driven at any one time was about three and a half hours and I had no problems.
I read on some of the reviews that people had a lot of noise when using the racks. This is not from the rack itself, but from using the straps to tie down a load to the rack. If you put a couple of twists in the straps it will deflect the air away and you will have a nice quiet ride. The cam buckle straps that come with the racks are mediocre, and you have to take care to make sure they snap back into the correct position when you tighten them down. As long as you know that going in and remember to check them, it is no big deal. I also throw a little heavier cam buckle strap around the kayak and run it through the inside of the car for added peace of mind, and I highly recommend everyone do so.
Overall, I have been completely satisfied with this product and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a convenient way to transport a kayak or other large object.
PRO's....inflatable roof rack inexpensive (under $100/bought for $90), capable of holding the weight of my 75lb kayak (empty weight), well made, minimize storage and easy setup.
Con's....items WILL slide around (due to soft inflatable design and 420-denier nylon makeup), hand held air pump looks very cheap (felt like it was going to break with every pump you'd pump for air), air-valves for roof rack will not stay hidden (after full load of air into roof rack sections and you push valves into denier to hide air valve exposure, the air-valves WILL keep popping out).
I've travel (4) times around the Dallas Fort Worth in my LEXUS IS250 totaling over 300+ miles. My speeds exceeded well into the 80mph-85mph zones with my kayak on top of vehicle. The inflatable roof rack held very well. I had to really strap my kayak down due to experiencing how the kayak kept sliding on the inflatable roof rack. I purchase some NRS straps to feel safer when tying down my kayak. After fully securing the kayak down, the kayak did not slide as much. Also, in order to get a better securement of my kayak, I flipped my kayak where the hull is upright and the stern lays on the roof rack. In my opinion, DO NOT have your kayak sitting upright. It's simply too much sliding on the denier even after you secure it down.
One last note....these inflatable roof rack can be damaging without you even knowing?!? When I initially picked up my kayak, I had a new 2016 LEXUS ES350 loaner vehicle (due to my car being repaired). After loading the Hobie outback onto the inflatable roof rack, the loaner vehicle roof started to cave inward. This was when I made the decision to flip my kayak on its back. Less pressure from kayak on the loaner vehicle's roof rack. Still, the Malone inflatable roof rack held its overall air and performed well carrying my kayak home 30 miles away at 60mph-65mph. Get this if you're needing a quick roof rack until you can save up for a better Thule/Yakima brands.
I was very pleased with the results. Very affordable solution that secured the kayak to the top of our son's Accord. Very easy to setup and take down, and there was not so much as a scratch on the roof. Excellent product!
It does work best when the strap for the kayak is run through all of the D rings on the inflatable part. Also, make sure you run the rope through the front and back of the kayak before you put it on top, it is really hard to get it on there after.
I saw some of the reviews mention water getting in the car from the straps in the rain. Our kayak was on the car during a heavy storm and downpour while we were camping. They did get wet on the inside, but we did not have water dripping into the car.
Would recommend for anyone who does not have a luggage rack on their car.

Top reviews from other countries
It's nice because they pack down very small when not in use.
It should also play nicely with the racks that run lengthwise on your vehicle, giving them padding across the width. A solid purchase.
You get what you pay for, truly. It's decent material and all, but you're still tightening a hard object against a soft one. It will be very difficult to get a confident amount of tension with the included cam straps. My wrists could not take the tightening process, so I swapped to some light ratchet straps and have just been as careful as possible while using them. They work very well.
As for when my kayak is on it, I have a pelican catch mode 110, so about a 65 pound kayak. It doesn't move at all. It's a bit slippery on the fabric, but if it's tight it seems solid while driving. I have quite a rounded roof (Hyundai Elantra 2020) but it has no problem seating well. When you set it up just be sure to space the two racks as far apart as possible, to remove any top down wobble you might have while driving over bumps. This will depend on your kayak or canoe of course.
I would absolutely not recommend this rack if you do a lot of highway driving to your water hole... But as an alternative rack which is in some cases 10x cheaper than getting a good brand, I'd say it does the job.
