Uriel's Lariat: A Paranormal Academy Novel (Celestial Academy Book 3) Kindle Edition
A dangerous relic. A devastating truth. A murderer on the loose.
Someone is hunting Fallen, leaving a trail of burned bodies in their wake. Zuri vows justice for her people. As the future leader of Hell, it is her duty to protect, not delegate the job . In the process, she pushes her simmering feelings for Miry down to focus on finding the murderer.
Miry dulls her relationship pain by throwing all her energy into helping Zuri protect Fallen. They plan to fight fire with fire by using Uriel’s lariat. Getting their hands on Uriel’s well-guarded relic is easier said than done. The more time they spend together, the clearer Miry's mixed emotions become.
As they lure the suspected attacker into a trap, will they find themselves on the receiving end of a disastrous surprise? And will a deadly mistake decimate Miry and Zuri's burgeoning relationship for good?

AND... Zuri and Miry come to the point where the curiosity finally hunts the cat!
Uriel's Lariat centers around the mystery of who is burning the fallen to death. Zuri and Miry have their sights set on Lilith and Chris because they have the most to gain by more destruction.
I love this book. Miry is less confused, and she is asking the hard questions. If Zuri knows she likes girls and only girls, what does someone who likes both called?
Oh dear, they are called Miriam bat-Michael, and they've got this!
The only reason I dinged this book a star was that I saw the big bad coming from the start--I expected it would happen at some point from book one.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary advance copy of this book.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.

Uriel is more than a bit off his rocker, throwing fireballs at students and exhibiting lethal and near lethal skills in his efforts at cleansing and keeping order
Miry and Z draw closer, yet Miry still struggles with her connections to Chris
Can they keep the balance?
Intense and fast paced drama and action

Miry is also still dealing with Chris, her past with him. How is deals with everything. She is also finding herself drawn more to Zuri. Chris visits her in an usual way, makes her promise not to say anything.
Zuri and Miry will try to figure out who is behind these attacks. Miry comes up with an idea that could put alot of others at harm. Things don't go the way they should.
This book was really great read. It has a little bit for everyone. You are pulled into the story and will read until it is done. The way the author ended the book, will have you wanting the next one. You will see two girls looking at how they deal with others, the walls they built. They become closer to on another. Can't wait for the next book.

Honestly, there was one hot second, where I considered giving this 5 stars, because it's the BEST book in the series, but I'm picky and it's not quite 5 star material, so I ended up with 4 stars.
I do wanna say, that I had a really great time with this one and honestly, it's a really good book.
So why did I love this one so much? Well, there were still some flaws - more on that later - but the book as a whole was still able to sell the deal.
It helps, that we start with some heavy stuff right from the get go. The stakes felt higher in this one, than they did in the other ones. Even though I feel like, we could have talked a little more about what exactly happens to angels & fallen once they die. This book isn't that long. It shouldn't have been afraid to go there. Especially since it would not have felt like an info dump at all. Not in the context and not with the characters we had.
As expected, we do meet Lilih again, because Zuri is sure, that she's the one behind the attacks. After all, it were Miry & Zuri that stopped her antics in the last book. So it would only make sense for her to thirst for revenge. We also get - the absolutly NEEDED! - Miry doesn't need safing scene that I was BEGGING for since book 1 ended. Because you see, Zuri loves to tell everyone who cares and who doesn't care, how amazing Miry is, but we never really saw much of that 'Awesomeness' in action. Yeah, she wielded the sword, but that was kinda all she ever did. So when she proves, that she NOT just a damsel in distress, I couldn't help but be proud. She's not a fighter and I think, she won't ever be one. Her skills are of a different kind. To see the book make that choice till the very end was brave. But I feel like it worked.
This book is also the book, that gives us a more scared Zuri Not much, but you know, a little. She makes a bunch of stupid decisions in this one, because she's blinded by her emotions. At first, I sighed and thought "Girl, you're better than this", but now, that I've thought about it some more, I think, that it works for this book. Yes, the stakes were high in the other ones too, but this time around, it's not just about some no-name angels and saints she doesn't care about. It's about family.
It can be a little frustrating to read - and I'm not sure if the twist was really supposed to be a surprise? Because it's not lol - but it's also just human.
The ending was AMAZING.
I've read the last book so I know that we aren't going to use the potential this ending sets up, but BOY was I excited when I finished this one.
What did I not like? Well, stuff: Look, there is this kind of love-triangle /cheating element in there that is a big no no for me. Did that NEED to be here? NO! Could it have been thrown into 4? YES! Hell, I even think it SHOULD have been in 4 and 4 only. I also didn't like Zuris ex. Not in this one and - spoiler - not in the next one. Less stupid drama, please, more communication.
I finished the series already - I'll write the review for 4 later - and still feel like, this one - is one of the strongest and most solid book that could even have been a 5 star. Great book!
