Capable of very long ranges and sticks well to the windshield.
I have heard bad things about mounts with the dual suction cups like these have, but I and surprised to say that after thoroughly cleaning the glass and using some good old saliva on the suction cups, it has held up to very harsh bumps, as well as temperatures to -20°F (I will update if it holds up through the summer heat as well) so needless to say I wasted 10 dollars on a mirror mount in anticipation that these little guys wouldn’t hold well. So if you’re doubting the suction I assure you it is very good. I have tapped into the mirror to get power rather than to use the 12v plug in with a chord hanging down in front of me for a much cleaner install as seen in the photos. Now the most important part is performance. I usually do a lot of rural and highway driving so I opted for the cheaper one without the GPS lockout feature. Now I will tell you for me personally the only radar used by law enforcement in my area is Ka band so I’ve locked out X and K band, as K band only goes off any time I drove by a business with automatic opening doors. For Ka range, it is amazing and hasn’t failed me yet. I’d say it can detect to almost a mile away if there are no obstructions like tall buildings. Even driving in a small city, with “city” mode turned on. It detects the cop parked at a gas station several blocks away. Which could be a bad thing if you live on the city as a mike away on stop and go traffic is very early to alert you, you can tinker with the accuracy in the settings though to maybe tune into what best suited your area, there are many tutorials on YouTube to set it up best suited for your location. The radar has always gone off before I see the cop which is good. Overall the customization with the color and brightness and to be able to fine tune the sensitivity for each band is great. Hands down the best all around detector for the price. If you are more of a casual driver that likes to be alerted to radar, and you aren’t an enthusiast that wants to spend $600+ on a radar detector. If you live in a town or rural area without so many false alerts I’d defiantly recommend getting the model without GPS for $100 dollars less, it has the same exact performance.
