I have enjoyed the Carol Ashton Mysteries for years. However, hearing this book narrated made it even better. It showed the scary part of being accused of murder and not have a support system to help you out of it,

I liked the book, it kept my interest, but I am an avid reader/listener of books..and for a 5 star the book has to knock my socks off....so 4 stars means it was a really good story.

This is one of my favourite Carol Ashton stories. Far from home on an FBI training course and under suspicion for murder. This is more police drama than some of the others in the series and i enjoyed it.

Carol Ashton an Australian Detective has been sent to an FBI training course in the United States. Carol feels a little out of league with the Americans also doing the course. But after a bitter argument with an instructor Carol is shocked to find herself accused of a murder. Far from home, friendless, and framed.

Her career seems to be going down the drain. Will she have enough time to find the real killer even though the evidence is mounting.

Time is running out for her to prove her innocence, save her career, her freedom and her life!!!

Well written and a fast pace story.

In her 12th outing, Australian Detective Inspector Carol Ashton is sent to train with the FBI in the US. While there, her instructor is murdered, and she is high on the FBI's suspect list. She has to find out why the teacher was murdered to find out who did the evil deed. While the series seems to have stagnated a tad, the change of venue and a liaison with a new woman gave this outing a jump start and it's the best she's written in several outings.

In her twelfth Carol Ashton mystery, McNab continues her award-winning style. Ashton attends an F.B.I. training course, and finds herself the suspect when a man with whom she argued vehemently is found dead. Surrounded by a group of other suspects, the detective must sift through the clues and clear herself. Her only ally is a female F.B.I. agent who has more on her mind than simply helping to clear Carol. Although typical of books from the Naiad Press, this story still features excellent pacing and a lively assortment of suspects.

Another great installment in the series. As always well-written, well-plotted and a likeable protagonist.
