Product Description

We name our posts after mountains in the Pacific Northwest, but for this post one mountain wasn’t enough. The Cascade pays homage to the Cascade mountain range, home to some of the best riding in the area. This post is a workhorse, it’s super reliable, loved by our customers and now features multiple travel options. The Cascade provides dependable up and down service for the miles to come, and maintenance on the Cascade is easy (like all our droppers). Plus, external routing at the mid cap ensures your cables are kept nice and tidy during up and down actuation.

Probably don’t need the 170, but I have a hard tail (2014 Fuji Tahoe 1.3). Fit is great and the install was time consuming but simple enough. I liked the puget 2x lever as my derailers fit under the handle bars. The lever is vertical and more versatile for my bike. Yet to ride. Hope I don’t have to tighten the cable, but no biggie if I’ll need to. There is a little wobble side to side others mentioned on the seat and I guess that 1mm wiggle will be unnoticeable. It feels solid otherwise. Lighter than my stock stem it seems, lol but not by much. Happy so far for the quality and price

A regular long distance road biker, i recently forayed into mountain biking, Got a bike without a dropper and decided to get one after few rides. PNW was the most consistent and had a full range of products available as a complete set. Hesitantly I dropped the big brands and decided on PNW, Gingerly at best.
Ordered Friday and come Monday i go the delivery. The open Amazon package did not help but otherwise all looked good inside except a missing manual. (somebody might have ordered and returned and carelessly left the manual out)
Just messaged PNW and almost immediately got a response from Aaron with a link to the manual.
Meanwhile I had already installed the dropper as it was fairly obvious.

Pros: Simple installation process, Excellent build quality, works smoothly, PNW stands behind their product and supports it, looks nice and fits well.
Cons: cable sleeve was slightly short for my routing, lever worked was a bit fiddly to assemble properly.

Overall an excellent product. Works first time out of the box even if was an open box (More an Amazon problem than PNW). The infinitely adjustable system works well and smooth - not too sudden a jump as with some branded ones.
If i would have to buy it again it would be PNW

Advice: a) Measure your seat post diameter carefully - most people order without measuring resulting in frustration and returns. b) Dont cut the cable off when you are installing first time. Roll/coil the cable for the first few rides and then re-tighten - cup and cap the open end.

So I looked around for a good, reasonably priced dropper for a while, and finally found this PNW post. I looked at their website and liked their company philosophy. I work in a shop and get good discounts on gear like this, but I decided to order the Cascade anyway because I liked the company's ideals and it had the features I was looking for (cable-actuated, and actuated at the collar).
As expected, the post was really meekly packaged, no extra fluff, but none needed in my opinion. As long as the post arrives in good condition, fine with me, and that was the case.
This post is EXTREMELY easy to set up. I've set up many dropper posts as a mechanic, and some of them are real bears. This one ranks with the easiest of the easy. The cable is cut at the lever, you crimp on the provided cable tip, and it tucks nicely under the lever with a little clip that holds it in place. Very clean.
The lever, which I realize is largely a personal preference thing, is very nice. It pushes downward and not in, so you can mount it either side easily. The noodle that attaches works well and the look is clean and it is easy to make adjustments.

In use, the post is very smooth, with a rebound that is a relatively quick speed (probably a little faster than my KS Lev, but nowhere near the taint-destroying blast of a Command Post), and very smooth. I've used it on about a dozen rides so far and so far, it has performed perfectly every time, even coming through two nasty wrecks unscathed. If I experience any issues with the post in the future, I will certainly adjust and revisit/update my review.

As it stands, I am extremely happy with my decision to purchase from PNW, and I hope that the post holds up to long term abuse. At this point, highly recommended.

As I move into my later years, it becomes a bit more difficult to throw my leg over my bike seat which is 42 inches above the pavement. Now I can do it easily and I couldn't be happier with this dropper seat post. It's also nice to be able to hit the trigger on the handlebar and lower it when I come to a stop so I'm not teetering on my tiptoes to keep the bike upright.

Installation was straightforward once I brought up the online instructions. There are some very small parts so I'd recommend installing it on top of a piece of carpet so if you happen to drop one it doesn't ricochet off into never-ever land (as in, you'll never ever see it again). The small parts do require some patience to install but persistence will win out. I'd suggest not being too quick to cut off the excess length of the activator cable. Just roll it up and tape it, then take a couple of rides to be sure everything is where you want it. Even then I left a few inches of excess which would be needed to re-thread the cable if, for any reason, you had to disassemble the handlebar trigger and then reassemble.

This is a great dropper post for the money, I can't imagine needing to spend more. The lever is adequate, and action is quick and smooth. I dock a star because I had a bit of frustration setting it up there very first time. The internal thread that leads from the cable mount to the actuator at the bottom of the post must have slipped. I had to open the post up and tighten it up, otherwise the post was always open (the very nice online documentation almost makes me want to give back that star) . After that, I've used the post for several months now and it just works - I don't really have to think about it. Another thing to note is a very slight side to side play. It cannot be felt while riding at all and hasn't changed with use so I have no concerns about that. All in all this post no doubt ranks as one of the best upgrades I've done on my bike. If you are upgrading an older MTB without internal dropper cable routing, you cannot go wrong with this one!

Great dropper, solid build, easy install and feel like a premium dropper. The only thing Is it is a little bit slow and takes good downforce to push it down. Sitting on it down is no problem, I think this has something to do with the sealed cartridge, and probably allows it to last for so long with out servicing.

I think it is the best-built dropper for the cost, and looks awesome too! 10/10 would buy again.

excelente compra, el sistema es muy suave y ya viene con todo lo necesario para instalarlo y cable bastante largo, la instalación no requiere de herramientas especiales mas que dos llaves allen de 2 y 3 mm y unas pinzas de corte
