There are two minor drawbacks for me. First, this thing is larger/heavier than a Dyson. But a lot of that size/weight is in the more powerful motor and the larger battery pack. Second, it is very loud on high suction. Sounds like a jet turbine in smaller rooms, like the pantry.
If weight and sound are not issues for you, I would take this over any Dyson all day long. Especially if you already have additional Ryobi tools that share the common and readily available batteries.
If it helps your decision process, I was faced with buying and replacing yet another Dyson battery (we had to do this every year as they don't hold up), or buying something different. For the money I was spending on new Dyson batteries, it made way more sense for us to buy the Ryobi. We are very happy with our choice.
"I remain Bruce Stanton"
I guess it's no more ryobi tools for me.
