Sun Protection Tips

All sunscreens should be applied liberally for sun protection. It is essential to use any sunscreen product as directed.

Spending time in the sun increases your risk of skin cancer and early skin aging. To decrease this risk, regularly use a sunscreen with a broad spectrum SPF value of 15 or higher and other sun protection measures including:

Limit time in the sun, especially from 10 a.m-2 p.m.

The white cast from this does not sink in even after 15+ minutes of putting it on and hoping it will calm down a bit. While I know it's good for me to have on sunscreen and it has saved my skin- this formula does not sink in eventually and leaves a big white cast so not everyone can use this due to that. I put makeup over it, but I am fair- cannot even imagine a woman over the shade light or fair who could use this at all.

I like the rest of Cerave's line up, I use a ton of their other products. Their Skin Renewing Night Cream is probably one of the best moisturizers on the market at this moment and can go toe to toe with some of the big expensive brands you'd find at Sephora. I use their Diabetics Dry Skin Cream all the time and it's positively divine, so much so that I haven't bothered to test out other brands. It's just that good.

This? This thing? I genuinely can't believe this is amongst their other products. I read a couple of reviews saying it leaves a white cast and I, looking for a way to make my fair medium skin tone lean more towards the fair end thought "hey, maybe it will lend me just enough to lighten me up a hair."

No.

I only used a tiny dab, not even the full amount you're SUPPOSED to use on your face and not only did it leave me with a white cast but with a blue-ish grey-ish cast that genuinely made me look like I had died about 6 hours ago. UNBELIEVABLY bad cast. And I'm a white person! If that leaves a cast that intense on me, I can't even imagine what kind of cast it would leave on someone darker than me!

I get it, this is probably purely a physical sunscreen, its probably all zinc or mineral or something like that in there and the point is that is creates a literal physical barrier so that the uv light can't penetrate through or it bounces off. You can't have a physical barrier without it existing, that's literally impossible. HOWEVER. The fact that it's THAT bad of a blue grey cast??? What are we doing here?????

This is without a doubt going to leave a very visible white cast. If you're someone who doesn't wear makeup to cover it it's going to be visible. I bought a lot with my HSA last year to use up my money before losing it so I am stuck with it but if you care about a white cast go with a different option. It really is unavoidable, I've tried everything for months now. I moisturize before applying it, I let that soak in, I apply it, Ive rubbed it in incredibly well, I've given it 30 minutes even to absorb but it really is unavoidable and still shows.

No break outs with it though so that's good!!

I was hesitant to purchase this one due to comment reading, and now I only regret not buying earlier!!!! What a perfect product! Not sticky, matte finish, not drying my face, super lightweight after a glimpse of time of application. My skin feels great not only on my face but also on my neck - where I usually don’t feel well upon sunscreen application. Furthermore, where is the white cast???? I’m shocked to see that my half face with this product had no visible differently compared to the other bare face or after applying a tinted sunscreen that is darker than my skin tone. In summary, it is a perfect mineral sunscreen for daily use as it is not water resistant, which can be easily take off by water. It is probably one of the best mineral sunscreen I can get in Germany. One huge plus of 100% mineral sunscreen in general is that it should not cause yellow stains on white clothes.
