I'm Texas born, and have lived here my entire life. The history of this great state has always intrigued me, and that's why all of my stories are based in Texas. I think my past experiences gave me insight into what I write about - I've lived in small towns and on farms, and spent many a summer on ranches where my grandfather worked. Growing up, horses and history were two of my passions, and living away from cities nurtured my creative side.

I've been interested in books and storytelling since I was a child. One of my favorite memories is sitting by my grandfather and listening to him tell stories about working in the oil fields and his life on a ranch. When I was a bit older, I would rewrite the endings to television shows, or come up with my own "episodes" altogether. Little did I know that my imagination would one day lead me to where I am now.

I've written nine books in the Somerville Series: Featuring Lex & Amanda, all of which have been revised and reprinted:

Changes occur, just like they happen in real life, and many of the issues faced, throughout the series, are relevant to those faced in real life as well. This makes each character more real and relatable. As usual, there is a bit of excitement and drama, but most of all endearing love. This book will definitely give you laughs, as Lex and Amanda navigate the sometimes stressful; often humorous and always eventful, ups and downs of parenthood. I give this book a thumbs up!

My Favourite one yet…
But I think I say that every time lol! Life with Lex and Amanda is never dull. This story is heavy on family, dealing with a rambunctious pre-teen and a six year old, grandparents, aunt and uncles, cousins and even a brother…. Secrets come to light, old wounds are healed, some things lost while others found and a precious gift is given, but most of all this book has an abundance of love in all its forms.
To say I adored this latest journey with Lex and Amanda would be an understatement. I felt pleased and blessed to reconnect with characters who are more than just words on a page, they feel real and like old friends that I have dearly missed. It was wonderful to go on this continued journey with them. I loved how down to earth this story is, its not glitzy or fancy, no bright lights and city sights, just the tale of good, honest, hardworking extended family living in a small Texas town and ranch. BUT, that doesn’t mean the story isn’t wonderful and full of drama and adventures, it is. There are also a lot of Fade to Black moments and I loved how in love Lex and Amanda are even after twelve years together!! This is a delightful, feel good story and if you miss it, you are missing something truly special!

Carrie Carr never fails to deliver a wonderfully engaging story, characters that you can't help but love (or hate), and I never finish one of her books that I'm not ready for the next! This one had me from the first page all the way through to the very end! Her characters are so real and relatable to the point you feel like you're wrapped up in a story about your friends. If you're trying to decide what your next read should be, this is it!

Not only this one, reading any book in this series is an absolute delight!

I read 1-8 and felt like I was part of the family. I fell in awe of Lex and the way she takes care of her family. She went thru so much from childhood thru adulthood and finding the love of her life. She could have become bitter but she rolled with the punches. She watched her fame grow. When I finished the last book I was sad. Felt like I left my family behind. There hasn't been many books that had me crying during the sad parts. My family would look at me and ask why I was crying? Carrie I love your writing and how you pulled me in. Thank you.

Lex once again has some suffering but in this story there a plenty of highs as well. I love the way that their story is developing and their partnership continues to grow. I already have the next book and I can't wait to start it.
