The night we met, I instantly wanted to know the brunette bombshell’s deepest secrets. She was pure temptation, and I was mesmerized by her soulful bedroom eyes.

As one drink led to two, I craved more of her playful banter and taunting lips. Resisting her wasn't an option, and we quickly became a desperate mess of tangled limbs and hot kisses. Once it became obvious that meeting her wasn't a coincidence, everything changed.

After years of keeping her at a distance, I want to pull her close as a threat emerges in her life. I’ll do whatever it takes to keep her safe, to show her I'm the good guy, but one night takes a tragic turn for the worse when her boyfriend and I start throwing punches.

And it ends when I’m arrested for his murder.

TRULY MINE is book 1 in the Mason & Sophie duet and must be read first.

4 CROWNS

Slow burn of epic proportions, Kennedy Fox delivers another romance that left me demanding book two immediately. Seriously, I do not want to wait.

Sophie and Mason are characters readers have met in the previous duet (you do not need to read that duet to understand this one). There characters are not wildly different from who we have seen in the previous book, but Kennedy Fox does a wonderful job showing explaining the reasons behind their actions, more specifically highlighting the Sophie's.

This is a slow burn romance, so I will say that I didn't always feel the tension and chemistry burning between these two. There are moments, at the beginning for example, where the spark between them comes alive. Additionally there are sensitive issues with the heroine that make the sexual chemistry between the two have to be put on the back burner. I am dying to see the heat turn up between them in book two.

The pacing of the story, particularly the beginning was a bit slow for me. Because of the ending of Hunter and Lennon's book and the synopsis, I expected it to be a different beginning, but once we got to the present, the book picked up in terms of pacing. I really became engaged with Sophie's dilemma and the fall out as a result of the choices from both characters. I do wish that I felt more of the story. There were many times that I felt I was being told the story versus living it with the characters and feeling the emotions. As almost all Kennedy Fox books, that ending. LORD, that ending. It has me needing book 2 like right now!

Kennedy Fox has mastered how to keep readers engaged and one-clicking. As a reader, I am always dying for the next book, to see how the HEA is going to be earned. I am certainly here for it!

Genre: Contemporary Romance
Series: The Mason & Sophie Duet #1 (Roommate Duet #3)

WHY! Why does Kennedy Fox have to torture us like this! I literally GASPED at the ending. LOUDLY! Honestly, I did not see that coming and the emotional turmoil I am feeling right now is INTENSE. This is the first book in the Mason & Sophie Duet. However, it is also the third book in the Roommate series. You don't have to read Baby Mine: Hunter & Lennon, #1 and Baby Yours: Hunter & Lennon, #2 first but I strongly recommend it as there may be a few spoilery things within this one. Plus, Hunter & Lennon are amazing characters and their story was phenomenal. You really can't go wrong!

Mason & Sophie have quite the story! Without giving too much away I will let you know that this book does deal with domestic violence so if that's a trigger for you well, your forewarned here. It's an emotional book, one that touched my heart, but it's also a book of survival ... Right Kennedy Fox!?! I truly felt for Sophie and what she was going through and I'm really glad that the authors put forth an issue that effects many woman. Mason is something else. He is truly a dreamy character and his protectiveness left me feeling all sorts of ways. Readers are going to love him as he is pure alpha! Other than these two, Lennon and Hunter play a small secondary role here as do Maddie and Liam who will have the next duet (I can't wait!).

If you are in the mood for a sweet and emotional read, you can't go wrong with a Kennedy Fox book and this one fits the bill! This is an intense novel, one with a little bit of suspense (like that ending!), and a whole lot of love. It may be slow burn, but it's so worth the wait!

Oh my god! These ladies continue to blow my mind time and time again. Truly Mine was truly amazing!! The angst, the lust, the friendships, the whirlwind of emotions, the suspense, gahh! So so good!

The beginning was kind of cruel because we get to relive Baby Your's epilogue through Mason's eyes and then it's back in time where you get to see everything that happened from the moment Sophie and Mason met before we get answers about what's gonna happen to Mason. And wow, it was fun, it was torture, it was so angsty and emotional. It was everything!!

Mason is a bit frustrating and acts like such a jerk torwards Sophie but he has his own reasons and learning his truth was heartbreaking and gosh did my heart hurt for him and all he was going through. He killed someone defending the girl he loved and his bestfriends and it brought back something from his past he had yet to move on from. Which also happened to be what stopped him from getting into any sort of relationship, specially one with Sophie.

But after everything they'd just been through and Sophie moving into the recently vacated room in Mason and Liam's place... it was impossible to ignore his feelings for her, not when he let himself hangout with her, be there for her and help her move on in whichever way he could. Sophie had a lot to digest and she wanted to move on from what she'd been through. She was mourning... not the man whom she had lost, but the relationship she had had in the beginning and most of all the person who she had been before all that had happened. But she was still vulnerable and too trusting for her own good. Weston might be dead but he is still much a problem for Sophie and Mason and will once again come in between them and threaten their new relationship.

Truly Mine is a slow slow burn that deals with a real life issue that might be a trigger for some. It is a friends to lovers and a roommates to lovers that will make you feel all the things and burn with the chemistry bubbling between Sophie and Mason every time they are near each other. This story is full of emotion and suspense and that ending will leave you completely shook. I knew it wasn't over, I knew Mason was right but wow I had no idea what was really happening and gosh I love when something surprises me like that in a book. I love it when I conjure up all the theories possible and am still wrong in the end.. those are the best books for me. Some books are just too darn predictable nowadays. This industry is becoming a repeating cycle of the same plots, with just different characters and worlds. But these ladies, these ladies know how to write a great book with the best characters, the best friendships and a damn good plot that wrecks you, surprises you and leaves you shook in the best way possible. They are a breath of fresh air. I cannot wait for more, more of Mason and Sophie and more of everything these ladies give me.

Five shine stars for Sophie and Mason 😍!!!

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

This is the first book I've read by Kennedy Fox and I loved it is so, so much 🔥🔥🔥!!!

I'm a little sad because I didn't read the first three books from this series, but after this, I know that I need to do it and I will 😁.

What a book?!?!?!

I didn't expect this 😱!

I really didn't know what to expect from this book because, as I said before, this was my first book by this author. I was impressed with the book from the first second I've started reading it and after tense beginning, I've just needed to knew what happens next.

Sophie's and Mason's relationship is one that you love from the beginning and they make your heart beats faster and wake up all your emotions 😭.

"Truly Mine" is friends to lovers, slow burn and an angsty book which once you start reading it, you just won't to the break until you finish it.

I highly recommend to read this book because you won't regret it. You'll enjoy one every second you spend with Sophie's and Mason's story!

P. S. Can't wait to read "Truly Yours" because I need to know what will happen next 😄!!!

Kennedy Fox truly knows how to give you a great slow-burn romance story. Truly mine is a true testament to how they write beautiful love stories that pull at your heartstrings.

Mason and Sophie have quite the entertaining story for how they finally come together after years of when they first met. But it's not a smooth story either.

I love how natural things happen in this book. Nothing is done hastily and the eventual get-together between Sophie and Mason is organic and real. But how they eventually get together as a couple is rifled with some monumental moments and heartbreaking realizations.

I am not going to into any details because this duo has written a story that you need to read without any notions of what is to come. I love that it's told from both their POV's so we get a well-rounded story. We get to see the continuation of Hunter and Lennon's love story and get the tension-filled yet hilarious banter between Liam and Maddie.

Truly Mine ends on a dramatic cliffhanger but we don't have to wait too long to see how things end for Mason and Sophie in Truly Yours. I love these duets!!

**5+++ Stars**

Kennedy Fox has once again taken me on an emotional rollercoaster full of so many absolute highs and even more drastic lows. I was enamoured with the first part to Sophie and Mason's story.

Mason is one of my absolute favorite characters! This man is sweet to the boot and considerate, he's also got an alpha side a mile wide and would do anything to protect the ones he loves. This man was everything I expected him to be plus so much more. I especially loved how he was with Sophie.

I loved Sophie in the beginning of the novel. If you all read the first duet in this duet series then you may know that Sophie's boyfriend wasn't a very nice man at all. Through this novel we get a glimpse into Sophie's treacherous relationship.

It goes without saying, there are a few trigger warnings that come along with this novel. If physical and emotional abuse is a trigger for you, I highly recommend you go into this one prepared for those moments.

In a way I found Sophie's story to be inspirational. We saw this woman as a fierce independent violinist who acted as a protector towards her younger sisters and then in the span of a few months, she lost herself after being broken down repeatedly and became a shell of the person she once was. Then we slowly see her rise back up becoming the person she once was, only stronger. I loved the positive effects that came after so much negative. She's a hero in my eyes. Any human that can revive and renounce themselves after all the tragedy they went through is a hero.

Two people with two completely different but similarly tragic backstories who are destined to be together but fight it at every turn, seriously, who wouldn't want to read Truly Mine!!!

Overall, I am completely speechless by the drastic turn Truly Mine took! Holy hell, Kennedy Fox can really send a reader's mind spinning and my mind is definitely spinning. I kept swiping my kindle screen to see if there was more. This book is like crack to an addict, I just need one more page!!!

I can't wait for Truly Yours! I need answers and I need them now!!!

5 "Netflix Nights" Stars
Kennedy Fox always achieves to steal my heart with beautiful love stories and Truly Mine is another one of these brilliant romances. This first novel in the Mason & Sophie Duet is a delicious slow burn, full of angst and poignant scenes! I adored every second of this wonderful story that gave me all the feels and kept me on my toes with anticipation!

"Sophie is a ray of sunshine on my dark, stormy days, and she has no idea I use my asshole ways to hide behind my true feelings."

While it’s not essential to have read the Hunter & Lennon Duet before, I highly recommend it to understand better the dynamic between the group of friends. Truly Mine starts exactly where the the previous duet ended, but we don’t get answers right away about that fateful night. The writers do a wicked trick and transport us into flashbacks starting from Sophie and Mason’s first meeting until that unfortunate night three years later. Needless to say that all read long I was so eager to discover Mason’s destiny, but at the same time completely captured by this couple’s tumultuous relationship through the years.

I couldn’t have loved the Mason more! He tries for years to stay away from Sophie, even if he can’t forget their blissful one-night stand. Seeing her so frequently is difficult for him and he acts like a jerk with her. I felt for him and his struggle with his past. He’s clearly still haunted by a tragic event and is not ready to open up his heart again. As much as he denies his feelings for Sophie by acting harsh, he is also very protective of her and it shows his true feelings for the girl!

"You have the best heart, Mason Holt. Even if you shieled it, even when you push people away, even if you think otherwise."

Sophie is really sweet and caring. I loved her friendship with Liam; Those two always ready to make Mason a little jealous with their playful banter. Her relationship with her sister is so funny and interesting too. The Corrigan sisters are really tight. She lives difficult situations in this book that made me cry and hurt for her. She wants Mason, but tries to move on and it’s not easy!

I was dying for Mason and Sophie’s little moments together. From the back and forth and hostility, to the moments they grow closer everything was perfectly well paced. You feel the air charged with electricity when they’re together. The attraction and love oozing from them is simply spellbinding!

"Sophie Corrigan has brought me back to life, breathed meaning into my soul, and has given me hope."

Overall, I adored this sweet story with emotional elements! We’ve only breach a fraction of Mason and Sophie’s potential as a couple and I need more with that surprizing ending that left me completely stunned!!

I’m not really sure how I feel about this book to be honest… It was mostly ok but there were some things that bothered me.

What I didn't like in this book is that even though the previous one ends with a cliffhanger (as does this one) we don’t get to see what happens to Mason and Sophie after the incident until 50%... I know that we needed more information about their past and I don’t know how it could be written differently but I wanted to know what happened to Mason.

SPOILERS AHEAD! DON’T READ IF YOU HAVEN’T READ THE PREVIOUS BOOK!

Mason murdered Weston, we know that from the previous book. I know it was self defense and that he had to do it in order to save himself and his friends. Yet, we don’t get to see him have some kind of remorse or be under shock. Is it just me or is this unnatural? How can someone be so calm after he kills a person?🤔

My heart breaks for Sophie and everyone out there that is a victim of domestic violence. There were some scenes that made me close my eyes for some seconds so I could continue reading and I hoped that both she and Mason would find their HEA. 💔

„I wish you would’ve given me a chance to show you that you were enough, are enough, have always been enough for me.”

I’m in love- hook, line and sinker. Kennedy Fox has a grip on my heart and I don’t want it back. This story sucked me completely in and I need Truly Yours ASAP! I crave more of Sophie and Mason. The angst, the tension, all emotions consumed my mind and there is one word to summarize this book- INCREDIBLE. From storyline to characters- everything in Truly Mine is simply amazing.

Sophie and Mason met at the bar and felt instant attraction. But after quick and insanely hot encounter it turned out that they’ll run in the same circle of friends. So Mason quickly put Sophie in the friendzone box and tried to stay away. But as the years passed, feelings never vanished and protectiveness only increased. Especially when Sophie decided to move on with her life and try to find happiness with someone else. Unfortunately things didn’t work out and Sophie end up in a very dangerous situation and Mason like a knight in shining armour came to save the day. But can he make a piece with his past and built a relationship? Can he be a man Sophie needs?

Oh my heart… Truly Mine put me through emotional grinder. This story contains a serious matter, which is a nightmare for many women. But aside from some heavy topics, Kennedy Fox put also their signature sweetness in this book, along with a massive dose of sexual tension and off-the-charts chemistry. I fell in love with Mason- his thoughtfulness, protectiveness and his alpha vibe. Sometimes he appears to be a jackass, but when we learn his reasons, it’s totally understandable. And Sophie… she’s so sweet, caring and loving! My heart ached for her and I was keeping my fingers crossed for her and Mason to finally be together.

Truly Mine is emotional, suspensful and action-packed read, that will leave you breathless. It’s Kennedy Fox at their best- these authors definitely know how to arouse the feelings in their readers and keep them in the edge of the seat. The ending almost drove me crazy and I’m waiting impatiently for the next book! I need more of Mason and Sophie asap!

Kennedy Freaking Fox....

And that’s the end of my review. Why you ask? Because that’s all that needs to be said at this point.

FUCK I’ve missed this author duo’s words like I’ve been missing half of my reading soul. Truly Mine is BEYOND the expectations. This slow burn, second chance, enemies to lover romance was, is, and will always be the epitome of Kennedy Fox’s impeccable writing and story telling.

There was so much to love about Sophie and Mason’s book! The couple overall just gave me chills page after page. I refused to put this book down. It’s definitely one of those books where you don’t expect what the characters go through emotionally to affect you as much as it inevitably does. And I love that. I was like a punch to the heart but it felt good? Yeah that’s an accurate description of a Kennedy Fox book at this point.

But really y’all. There was just so much depth to the book. The love and trust, the betrayal and deceit, the forgiveness and rebirth. I can go on and on. Truly Mine is Truly Astounding. And after that cliffy, I can’t wait for more! Truly Yours can’t get here soon enough!

Lord they have done it again!!! They have left me in a hangover I'm not going to recover from until Truly Yours comes out!!! Of course I've been in a perpetual hangover waiting on this book and it was so worth it!!! Just when I think I might know where they might go with a story line they do a complete 160 and put me on my but!!! And I love every single moment of it. Mason is just so heroic and swoon worthy and I believe he might take the #1 spot of all time in that category. Sophie is just so sweet and compassionate and it's what makes her so loveable but it's also what gets her in so much trouble. So they actually make a perfect couple if they could ever get there. I am telling you if you guys haven't started this series yet WHAT ARE YOU WAITING ON!!!!!! I so wish I could hand out more than 5 stars because this book deserves so many more than that!!! By Tina

It's always a good time when KF releases a new series/duet! I loved their last one that was Baby Mine/Baby Yours, and after meeting the leads in that series, I was so excited to see Sophie and Mason's story unravel. If you read BM/BY, you'll know that the book ends on a crazy cliffhanger that leads into this one. All books can be read as standalones, but honestly, it really builds the world a lot more having all the backstory.

The story goes back further than the last duet because Sophie and Mason end up meeting at a bar beforehand, both waiting for people that obviously know one another (Brandon and Lennon). There, they hit it off instantly and have an incredibly steamy moment. However, once the steamy moment ends, they learn that Sophie is actually the younger sister of Lennon, who was Brandon's girlfriend at that time. Not wanting to rock the boat by dating your friend's girlfriend's younger sister, he tells her that they should just be friends. The story follows them as they both try to move on and fight their feelings. Unfortunately, Sophie ends up with someone that ends up abusing her. A bit of a trigger warning here because those passages can be to read, and the book handles the aftermath and trauma that abuse victims have. On a night that was meant to be happy celebrations, there's a fight that happens between Mason and Sophie's abusive boyfriend which ends in the abusive boyfriend's death. That's how the previous duet closes, and this book follows shortly after that and the events that come after.

Luckily for Mason, because of his DA father, the charges against him for murder don't stick. But he is forced to lay low for a while because of the media frenzy. During this time, we learn more about Mason's past and we see him actually bonding with Sophie more. She moves in with him and Liam (I do love me the roommate trope) and it just reminded me of KF's previous Checkmate series again which I really enjoyed! I loved seeing them just grow with one another and realize what they had all along and not try and fight it. As mentioned before, I'm glad to see that KF highlights the day to day trauma and aftermath of situations like domestic abuse and they don't sugarcoat it. We see Sophie struggle, but we also see Sophie's strength in working through everything. I usually swoon over the male leads that KF writes, but I really love Sophie! I see a lot of myself in her and I just love her honesty, resilience, and strength. She felt like an incredibly authentic character for me. Mason and Sophie's story is only just getting started with this book and I'm so excited to see how it will all wrap up in the next book.

Luckily we don't have to wait too long for the next one! If you are a fan of KF books, you'll love this one, and if you haven't been introduced to KF yet, I recommend starting with a series starter! As I said in the beginning of my post, it's always so much more fun meeting all the characters beforehand and that way you can appreciate when they pop up in sequential books! ;)

4.5 tension filled stars!!! Omg they did it again!! Another couple I am in love with.

This is the beginning of Mason and Sophie’s love story and book three of the “Roommate Duet” series. This book ends in one hell of an amazingly crazy cliffhanger and the next book comes out next month so I will be stalking these authors like crazy!!!

I am super in love with Mason and even Sophie, but I will say there were some stuff that drove me crazy about them. Sophie was a little naive for her age for somethings and kind of came off as desperate but by the last 1/4 of the book I fell for her. Mason he pissed me off with the wall he put up and all the chances he missed but I am like in love with him now!! These two together? I love it!!

Every series or duet these authors put out I fall for. I enjoy the group of friends. Starting with “Checkmate Series” and on. This group of friends is just as good. Hunter and Lennon are still very much a part of the story and I am sure something is going to come of Liam and Maddison one day (or so I’m hoping very much). But Mason and Sophie is that slow burn, that wrong timing love. But once they get together is was like fireworks!!

Cliffhangers can either break a story or draw me in and this cliff hanger first off had me throwing my kindle. And now I am anticipating this book like never before. And thank the book gods above this next book releases very soon!!

This book is full of sexual tension, naughty hook ups, sexy men, great friends, secrets, dark pasts, scary situations and possibly some abuse triggers but damn was it good. This book hit me in the feels. Especially being in these situations prior. Every woman needs that friend that helps them pull through the hardest times and wouldn’t it be beautiful to have two sexy ass men that are there in a heart beat?!!! Totally jealous.

This is a great read!!

Because I’ve read quite a few books by this amazing writing duo, I was more prepared going into Truly Mine, the first part of Mason and Sophie’s story, than I was for any of their other books. I was ready for the angst that would frustrate and overwhelm me as the hero and heroine sorted out their feelings and their circumstances…for the slow burn that would make me antsy for them to take a chance on what they truly want…

But I also knew that Fox wouldn’t make it easy on Mason and Sophie, not only because they needed to take care of significant personal issues in their lives, but also because the path to a happily ever after, especially when it’s a world and characters created by the Queens of Angst, would be an uphill fight, and let me tell you, boy do Mason and Sophie have to fight for EVERYTHING, not just to have an opportunity to become more than friends but to get their lives on a course that doesn’t leave them mentally or physically battered and bruised.

And, now that I finished reading Truly Mine, I can wholeheartedly say that as much as I thought I was prepared for all that Fox would force their characters endure, that ending just about did me in, and it certainly left me with a mixed set of emotions headed into Truly Yours, and I’m sure that the wait to find out how everything plays out will just about do me in, but I’ll try to keep it together until then!

Kennedy Fox definitely brought the angst in Truly Mine while also laying the foundation of who Mason and Sophie are at their core and what it’s going to take for these two to realize just how long they’ve truly been each other’s regardless of all the time they spent apart or with other people.

Overall, I truly enjoyed the beginning of Mason and Sophie’s duet. Both characters stay true to who they are, even when they maybe should have acted or responded in a different way due to what they’re forced to face with their decisions. It’s clear that Mason and Sophie share a deep and meaningful bond - one that has the potential for more - but there are so many variables at play throughout the course of their friendship, and sometimes, they’re their own worst enemies, sabotaging their chances by constructing walls and shutting one another out when they need one another the most.

This writing duo continues to write literary gold time after time.
Truly Mine was angsty AF and seriously slow burn(which I happen to love).
Mason was frustrating and kinda of a jerk to Sophie.
Once his reasons are revealed..holy moly you truly understand. It was emotional and heart wrenching.
This deals with real life issues so be prepared.
Truly Mine ends on a very shocking cliffhanger ...major Major one..I need Truly Yours ASAP.

First off, Kennedy Fox please keep writing great page turners. Sincerely, one of your readers!😂 ANYWAY, Kennedy Fox strikes again, writing another great book that wants me reading more. The storyline, the side characters, the Friendships and the love, was just some of the great things about this novel. I absolutely loved catching glimpses of Mason and Sophie in the beginning of the Roommate Duet, but I love seeing them in their own story! Mason was a great character. He was sweet and caring, everything a great hero in a romance novel is. I adored Mason’s character so much. Sophie was a great sister, an amazing violinist and lovely person. Sophie was a very strong character and her role in this story and the book world was so important . I appreciate stories like this, especially romance because it shines light on things that really can happen when it comes to people’s lives and relationships. Overall this story was another great read by Kennedy Fox and I’m very excited to see what happens next with Mason and Sophie!

Truly Mine is Mason and Sophie’s story, and it is an absolute doozy. That cliffhanger though? What. The. F#%&. Mind freaking blown. If September can hurry on up I’d really appreciate it, because I need Truly Yours, NOW!

You can say Mason and Sophie’s first encounter started off with a bang. *insert wink emoji* And after, everything just became a tad complicated. It didn’t help that Sophie’s sister and Mason’s best friend are dating, so not wanting to make things worse, Mason doesn’t want to disrupt that dynamic. And ultimately Mason and Sophie pretend they just didn’t engage in a little something-something earlier when they “meet” again when they’re introduced. Even though Sophie agrees, deep down she feels anything but.

I had so many questions regarding Mason. I wanted his layers peeled back and to get to the center of the crux of it all. I knew there was more to him considering his attitude towards Sophie. He’s a bit frustrating and acts like a total jerk to her. And when I learned his truth and why he didn’t want to be in a relationship my heart hurt for him, it was truly heartbreaking. And even though he tried not to have feelings for Sophie it was becoming harder than he thought.

After that one night with Mason it’s no surprise that it’s hard for Sophie to forget, even though she must put it behind her. She wishes Mason would change his mind and want to pursue something with her, but all he wants is to be friends. So, after years of hoping which just leads to nothing changing, Sophie decides she’s tired of waiting and moves on.

There’s a pivotal thing that happens that changes everything. It ultimately brings Mason and Sophie closer together. Mason becomes very protective of Sophie and will do everything and anything to keep her safe. I liked how Mason and Sophie’s friendship grew stronger and stayed solid. After what they went through it was good that they had each other to lean on. I’m on pins and needles just wondering how everything is going to play out and hoping KF doesn’t make Mason and Sophie suffer more than they already have. Please be gentle, please.

Truly Mine is a slow burn, friends to lovers angsty romance. It’s filled with drama, action and suspense. It has its fair share of twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat. I can’t wait for the next book, I need more Mason and Sophie, STAT.

"𝑻𝑹𝑼𝑳𝒀 𝑴𝑰𝑵𝑬 𝒊𝒔 𝒂𝒏 𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒔𝒕𝒚, 𝒔𝒍𝒐𝒘-𝒃𝒖𝒓𝒏 𝒇𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒔 𝒕𝒐 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝒓𝒐𝒎𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒘𝒓𝒂𝒑𝒑𝒆𝒅 𝒖𝒑 𝒊𝒏 𝒂 𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒈𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒚 𝒃𝒆𝒂𝒖𝒕𝒊𝒇𝒖𝒍 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒚."

Those words in the blurb pretty much sum up this story in a nutshell. I mean there's a lot of meat to it, but seriously, the push & pull angst had me ready to pull my hair out. And it all started in a bar the night Mason first came face to face with Sophie. They had such a strong pull that they hooked up immediately, not knowing that from there on out, they would be hanging with the same group of friends together. Their chemistry was electrifying, so it wouldn't be denied, but then, Mason, couldn't pull his head out of his a** to see what was in front of him. Sophie would have had no objections to more, but Mason wouldn't give it to her, though he knew they were something special together. So for the longest time, Sophie trying to find someone else, and Mason secretly suffering because, head was still firmly up his bum. Then, twists started coming right & left, which had me dropping f-bombs, and just when I believed that their timing was on point FINALLY, the biggest twist of all came out of nowhere to punch me in the gut, leading up to the cliffy ending & by this time I could barely breathe. Now I NEED the conclusion because I'm dying inside from extreme emotional distress that this brilliant duo put me through! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Kennedy Fox has done it again!! This dynamic duo has completely ruined me with Truly Mine. Mason and Sophie’s story had me on the edge of my seat the entire time I was reading this book. Their first meeting was FIRE and to watch it go up in smoke had me gasping! Their chemistry, their banter and what happened between them over the course of this book...I have no words. I was captivated and completely devastated to flip that last page to see “to be continued”! GAH! I cannot wait for more <3

Oh how I love a good angsty romance romance, though "Friends to Lovers" not entirely my thing, I was feeling that synopsis comrades, I mean, how could you not? I am a diehard slow burn romance junkie and when it comes to Kennedy Fox, you know I am all hands on deck!

I have said it before and I will obviously be saying it again, I am not a huge fan of "Friends to Lovers" tropes, but honestly I really don't think this is really that trope, truthfully, they did attempt this semblance of a friendship but really it was Sophie trying to be a friend while Mason was basically a bully. I wanted to adore Mason, I loved his alpha persona in the beginning, he was rugged, unmanned personality that screamed for broody untamed swoon worthy chemistry, but really I was hit with this gorilla banging on his chest peeing on his territory attitude most of the dynamic build up. It had this feel of Hunter if you get my drift, like let me keep Sophie at this distance by being a turd towards her but really I want to protect her. It almost gave me whiplash with how he countered Sophie.

And while on the topic of Sophie, I just cannot understand her mannerism, her personality and honestly, I am downright confused about her mindset. Obviously without giving away spoilers, but we know that she was clearly in an abusive relationship, I love reading these types of plots, I love the emotions that come with these things but this for me felt rushed. Such a powerful and heart wrenching plot dynamic and I felt like I would have connected with Sophie so hard, speaking as someone who has been in that position, but it just fell flat. I understand the growth process, the back and forth, how they developed it, but for me, again it was less appealing as I had first hoped. Then speaking towards how she reacted then grows - to me it is seemed awkward. After everything she went through she seemed more accepting, more naive than she did before and this just threw me for a loop, sealing the deal of how much I could not connect, nor comprehend her character's personality.

With all of this, you must be thinking, what did I actually enjoy? I will say this, their chemistry, though at times felt strange, it was really good. It pulled you in, and setting aside my personal irk factors on the characters themselves making myself really understand what the authors were trying to convey, I can say that I enjoyed their romance build up. When they were in the same room, bickering and arguing there was definitely a connection that was intriguing. I really loved seeing them together. They brought out the better sides of one another. The push and pull, and right at the beginning, that scene you KNEW HAPPENED but never got glimpses until now, well worth it.

I suppose you could argue that this one took a leap that just frankly did not live up to my expectations. To be fair, I did like the characters. I liked their banter, their bickering between themselves. I enjoyed getting glimpses of the past, which is always a super fun twist to my reading heart. But I do think that at a certain point, I was more so skim reading Truly Mine rather than simply reading to enjoy. I was really excited about this duet because the synopsis truly grips you in the heartstrings unfortunately for me there were points of too much rushed aspects to the plot, the romance and chemistry was there but still had a lack luster build up and simply put, the ending, though an interesting cliffhanger, the plot development sent me in a tizzy of confusion. It was such an exaggerated setting that honestly I don't know if I should embrace the creativity or cringe at the over use of these types of scenarios.

I do look forward to reading Truly Yours, I want to see it blow me away, fingers crossed! I want to love these characters and as a huge fan of Kennedy Fox, I know they will deliver, again fingers crossed. I just think as much as I wanted this duet to connect with me it did not but will continue on hoping to see that change and I am definitely looking forward to seeing Maddie's Duet too.

“I wish you would’ve given me the chance to show you that you were enough, are enough, have always been enough for me.”

Sophie and Mason are my new favorite Kennedy Fox couple! The angst, the slow burn, the sexual tension! These two were perfection! The story picks up where Baby Yours ends and if you’ve read the first duet in the roommates series you know that’s a hell of a hook for the next duet. Truly Mine takes us back some years to when Mason and Sophie first meet and we get to see how their relationship or non-relationship unfolds.

“If you have feelings for me the way I have feelings for you, then please tell me. Tell me so I can stop second-guessing.”

Sophie Corrigan is an absolute sweetheart. The oldest of the Corrigan sisters, always taking care of everyone around her and putting their needs and feelings before hers. She’s had feelings for Mason Holt since the moment they met, but learns to keep them at bay the moment he pushes her away.

“She deserves better than I could ever offer her, better than someone who’s fighting their own demons and is an emotional mess. The more I remind myself of that, the better.”

Mason Holt has his secrets and fights them every day. Just a few pages into Mason’s POV and I was already head over heels. He’s amazingly sweet and considerate and only wants what’s best for Sophie. Sadly, he doesn’t consider himself good enough for her so he builds a barrier between them to save them both from pain and heartache.

This was such a great read. Living this slow burn was absolutely delicious. Sophie and Mason have such amazing chemistry and the build up to the moment they give in to their feelings is wonderful. I loved how we get to see Hunter and Lennon again and relive some of their moments from Sophie and Mason’s POVs. The twists and turns in this story kept me turning the pages. Sophie and Mason’s story is too sweet and has it all; angst, slow burn, suspense, sexual tension, steaminess, you name it! I can’t wait to see it unfold and reach the HEA that we’re all rooting for in Truly Yours.

I highly recommend you pick this one up!

I finished 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗲 by Kennedy Fox, boy was this a ride. I couldn’t put this book down at all, I was laughing, crying, swooning, and on the edge of my seat.

Mason and Sophie’s story is a tough one, but also a great one. I loved how Sophie is so freaking strong, after everything she went through she still had the biggest heart.
Mason, I wanted to slap him once or twice but man did I love him. These two are perfect for each other!!!

And yes, once again Kennedy Fox has left me going crazy waiting for the next book. This book is a MUST READ!!!! I cannot wait for Truly Yours

OMG! Truly Mine was everything I was hoping for and more! It is such a deliciously slow burn, slightly angsty romance. Kennedy Fox did a fantastic job on the story line and I loved how it overlaps with Hunter and Lennon's story. You were able to see how Mason and Sophie dealt with everything. Their instant chemistry is hot and I love how they meet! My heart broke for each of them and what they go through. I seriously couldn't put it down and had the battery on my Kindle not died, I would!d have read it straight through the might. It's that good! I cannot wait for the conclusion! I will be counting down the days!

When Mason & Sophie have a hot hookup at a bar, neither realizes just who the other is in their circle of friends. And once Mason realizes she's Lennon's sister...yeah, things definitely do not end up the way Sophie (or Mason) had wanted them. So they spend the next 3 years in this slow-burn, maddeningly angsty cycle of Mason pushing her away all the while falling in love with her. Sigh...

"Don't confuse me with a saint. I'm a sinner."
But there's a reason for Mason's push and pull with Sophie, and it's a heartbreaking one. Mason has a lot of demons, demons that have made him close off his heart to love, make him think he's unworthy of it. All because of one truly tragic event in his past that he keeps secret. Unfortunately, it's a secret he doesn't share with Sophie until far, far too late. Their timing was atrocious throughout Truly Mine, and they never quite got it right til very near the end, right before the horrible cliffhanger. That's right, a doozy of a cliffhanger, that is almost too much for this reader to bear!

But I absolutely loved Truly Mine! It's angsty af, frustrating as hell, but so delicious. I could feel the tension oozing out of my Kindle, and my heart broke for these two, wondering if they'd ever get off their asses and allow themselves the love I could see they had for each other. Sometimes I wanted to smack both Mason and Sophie for the stupid decisions they both made at one point or another, but in the end, I fell in love with them. Then bam, that freakin cliffhanger, and now I'm impatiently waiting for Truly Yours: Mason & Sophie, #2, the conclusion of this sexy, suspenseful love story!

OMG, ALL THE FEELS!!!

I absolutely loved this first half of Sophie and Mason’s duet! This is one of my favorite slow burns I’ve read. The slow burn absolutely kills me in all the best ways and I feel every emotion and fall so in love with the characters. The friends to lovers’ trope is the cherry on top!

When I met both Mason and Sophie, in the first duet (Baby Mine/Baby Yours), I knew their story would be amazing! There was so much angst and tension between them I was dying to know what was holding them back from being with each other. Mason is everything I want in a book boyfriend. He is alpha while constantly looking out for everyone he cares about. He tries to do what he thinks is the right thing even if he sometimes comes across as a jerk. I loved Sophie just as much she is strong, inspirational, talented, and the friend/sister we all want.

Even though parts of this story that are hard to read as it deals with emotional and physical abuse, I appreciate the realness that comes from it. From the emotions to the character growth, it was done in a beautiful, even though tragic, way.

I love the whole cast of characters in this series of duets. I’m so glad we get to see them so often in each book. I love getting to catch up with characters I’ve fallen in love with in the past and seeing how they impact the other’s stories.

I am so in love with these characters and they have been through so much! I need book 2 right now! I’m so thankful that we only have to wait a month for the conclusion of this story. After being left hanging, I’m dying to know what happens!

Grateful to have received a complimentary ARC copy to honestly review.

I AM UNWELL! WHAT A CLIFFHANGER! Warning – don’t think you can read this in multiple sittings – get ready for the long haul to read this book in one sitting and as quickly as possible. Getting the little preview at the end of the last book in this series did not prepare me for this storyline but I am OBSESSED! Mason has had a rough family life and seems to be unable to get out of underneath his father’s thumb in multiple aspects of his life. A chance meeting with Sophie, Lennon’s sister, before they meet sparks years of tension between the pair after Mason informs Sophie after their one-night stand that his incapable of a relationship. Looking to move on from her feelings for Mason, Sophie meets a guy on a dating app and things move swiftly and quickly from there. Unbeknownst to her, he’s a complete liar and by the time Mason and Liam inform her, the damage is already done and the abuse has already taken hold. Everything comes to a head at the wedding reception for Hunter’s brother, when in a freak accident Sophie’s boyfriend is shot and killed and Mason is charged with murder. The aftermath of the accidental death and the abuse take a toll on Sophie, and the months after are really building a friendship and later relationship with Mason but also getting back to the old her. The twist in this story you will NOT see coming and the suspense killed me but per usual I can’t get enough of this duo’s books and they’ve outdone themselves with this storyline and writing!

5 STARS

In true Kennedy Fox style this book has it ALL! Intense feels, angst, suspense and a slow burn romance that I crave more of!

From the beginning of the book I was routing for this couple! The slow burn between Sophie and Mason made this such an intense read. I could not put this down. Their chemistry and connection was inevitable from page 1 and I was truly addicted.

Mason has an incredible HUGE heart. He puts everyone’s needs above his own and he loves deeply. He is everything I love in a romance hero. Protective and pure alpha male.

Sophie is Lennon’s oldest sister (from Baby Mine and Baby Yours) she has a quiet strength about her that I was drawn to. She trusts easily, sometimes too quickly.

There is so much more I could say about this but am afraid to give anything away. The cliffhanger left me reeling and wanting the next book immediately.

Kennedy Fox is fast becoming a new favorite author. This writing duo together are perfection. Their writing is gripping and all consuming and I am eager to to read everything they’ve read from their backlist ASAP.

Can I just say, this isn’t fair that Kennedy Fox keeps giving us these men that you want to hoard for yourself? They just getting more and more amazing. Mason is amazing and more. What was a sizzling one night stand, or so they thought, turns into a roller coaster of emotions as these two trying to navigate their way through a friendship. While we do see a little of these two in the previous duet, their book delves more into how things came into play for these two. And as you know, you ALWAYS have to read the first book of the duets in order to continue on. Honestly, just read them ALL you will not be disappointed!
Back to the story at hand. I think the one thing I loved about this series is how Fox gave us the past as it melded into the present. It gives the book such a depth that you are fully engrossed in what happens to these two. They also take on a tough subject and write it with such grace. It is heartbreaking but also uplifting. I love the wit, the banter, the chemistry, just pretty much everything. I devoured this story.
Overall, this is ramping up to be an epic duet once again by Fox. Honestly, what book by them isn’t? However, there is just that something about it that I am in love with. I love how their writing pulls you in and leaves you breathless. They leave you begging for more and wanting to throw your kindle at the same time. Bring on the second book of this duet because I NEED IT NOW!
