TOURNA TENNIS STRING
Tourna Tennis Strings - Awards
All Tourna strings are crafted with the latest technology and are second to none in performance. The above award chart demonstrates excellence in both Poly strings as well as arm friendly multifilaments.
Tourna's Polyester strings are all made in Germany using advanced materials and including polyether, to help deliver a softer string that absorbs shock and increases comfort, while retaining incredible durability, power, resistance to movement, and tension maintenance. This blend of poly materials make it a true co-poly.
Tourna Big Hitter Poly's hold 3 of the top 5 slots for spin potential per the Racquet Sports Industry Magazine playtests. Black 7, Silver 7 Tour, and Blue Rough are in the top 5, with Black 7 as the best in spin of all strings ever tested, and still tops the charts to date. Silver 7 Tour is Black 7's stiffer counterpart and has been awarded the "Best Tension Maintenance Poly" EVER by Tennis Warehouse University Labs. Silver 7 Tour is also #3 in spin from the RSI playtests.
Tourna also makes arm friendly multifilaments that have been awarded as some of the most comfortable arm friendly strings on the market.
With the money you'll save playing with Tourna strings compared to more expensive brands, you'll be able to afford a new racquet and new shoes every couple months!!!! Play with Tourna strings with confidence and save money at the same time.

Shaped PolysMany poly strings are shaped like the one above. Silver 7 Tour and Black 7 have seven sharp edges that bite into the ball upon impact and impart massive spin. These strings are both top 3 for Spin potential. Other shaped polys include Big Hitter Blue Rough and Big Hitter Silver Rough which have 8 sharp edges and then twisted. Tourna Grit is more of a textured poly that feels like sand paper and can really grab the ball upon impact. These Tourna polys are known for their control, low power, and spin. |
Round PolysRound poly strings are smooth and un-textured. The round nature of the string helps "snap back", which is the movement of strings upon impact. More snap back imparts more spin on the ball. Big Hitter Deuce, as shown above, is the first multi-colored infused poly giving you the best of both worlds of power and comfort. Smooth polys also are a favorite with synthetic gut and multifilaments because they don't wear the softer string down as quickly. Other round Tourna poly's include Black Zone, Big Red, Big Hitter Blue, and Big Hitter Silver. All of these Tourna Polys are meant to be softer more powerful, and easier on the arm than traditional poly strings. |
Soft Synthtetic StringsMultifilaments and Synthetic gut strings are the softest and most powerful tennis strings. Multifilaments are meant to mimic the elasticity, softness, and feel of natural gut. A favorite among players with tennis elbow. They are made with thousands of fibers, twisted together, and then dipped in a polyurethane to bond the fibers. Quasi Gut is extremely close to the feel of gut and soft on the arm. Quasi Gut Armor has tiny polyester wraps to help its durability. Synthetic Gut Armor is one of the best all around strings on the market for playability. |

Right after stringing the racquet, i then proceeded to the tennis courts along with my ball hopper (just in case there's nobody to hit with). Started my service motion slowly just to get a feel of the new strings hitting the ball so, i basically doing a top spin serve followed by flat serve. Then, i cranked up the racquet head speed onto my normal head speed and i didn't feel any difference between the premium poly vs. the BHB. Then, i grab my other Dunlop 100 4D racquet strung with BHB (same tension at 48 lbs) and hit some serves. All in all, i end up using approximately more than 300 balls (my ball hopper is rated 75 balls).
A tennis buddy came in right after i finished my 4th bucket and we hit for more than an hour. I predominently used the racquet strung with the premium poly during our rally since i wanted to make sure this isn't fluke. To my amazement, there's so much feel (i.e., crisp, good ball pocketing) and i can impart a lot of spin on my groundies. Power is about right to my taste and the strings didn't move at all even if i hit powerful groundstrokes and volleys. Based on my previous experience with BHB, a slight movement of the main strings could be seen after hitting more than an hour or so.
Overall, there's no tangible significant difference between the higher price BHB vs. the premium poly based on my testing other than the price and slight movement of the BHB strings. I wish the popular online tennis stores carry this product but kudos to Amazon for having this in. I'll probably order a couple of reels in a month or so just in case they discontinue producing this excellent product.

A couple of things about poly - it's important not to pre- or overstretch them - they're already where they need to be, so you're just yanking the life out of them. (This is why they sometimes have a reputation for 'losing' tension.) It's also important to tension them at least 5 and up to 10 pounds looser than gut or synth. They're quite stiff, which makes up the difference in feel and performance. And at higher tensions that stiffness will really do a number on your arm.

Gracias
I stringed at 53lb, the feeling is quite good for poly string.
I used to play with Solinco Outlast 16 my goto string for durability, of course it is stiff but I don't mind.
I still need more hours with this string bed but so far so good, some others reviewers said this string loose tension fast, I have yet to see.
It is not too stiff or difficult to string when comparing to others poly, the one I found tough to string is the Golden Set Hex poly 16L.
