You Are Mine #3

You Know I Love You

Rate this book
I married the bad boy from Brooklyn.

The one with the tattoos and the look in his eyes that told me he was bad news.
The look that comes with all sorts of warnings.

I knew what I was doing.
I knew by the way he put his hands on me; how he owned me with his forceful touch.

I couldn’t say no to him, not that I wanted to. That was then, and it seems like forever ago.

Years later, I’ve grown up and moved on. But he’s still the man I married. Dangerous in ways I don’t like to think about.
I did this to myself. I knew better than to fall for him.

I only wish love was enough to fix this…

You Know I Love You is book 1 of a duet. It is the second duet in the series, but it can be read first.

Willow started writing after having her little girl, Evie, December 2015. All during her pregnancy with Evie she continued to read and she only wanted to read romance. She was reading a book a day — sometimes two.

In January 2016 Willow was staying up late with Evie and just thinking of all these stories. They came to her constantly so she finally sat down and just started writing. She always wanted to do it so she figured, why not? Today Willow cannot be happier for making that decision!

Title: ➳ ❤ You Know I Love You

LIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ღ Willow winters has again proven she can write a romance novel with the perfect amount of suspense. If you like romance with bit of mystery, then go get this book now.

This book adds more suspense as the author weaves in the main character’s more mystery then romance. There is a great transition to the next book leaving you in suspense until it is out.

Evan & Kat’s marriage is filled with secrets, so many lies & so many sins, Evan seem to have habit of holding things from Kat. In the last few years, they have grown apart & more or less lived a separate life

Evan with his constant traveling for his work. Evan worked in the limelight. Honestly its miracle that Kat had not said anything sooner.

Kat was no better, she might work from home, but she would lock herself in her offices for days

I think their biggest problem was communication, they never seem to voicing their thoughts & feelings. These two never truly had really marital fight

I could sympathize with Kat about distrust of Evan, only thing is how sometimes she reacted to some of the situations with Evan

This book was filled with so many twist & turns, it was crazy. I loved it. Incredible writing- as always with Willow Winters….And lord that ending

📚 Hope you enjoy this read & also always keep in mind this is just my opinion+ Also I wouldn’t never discourage anyone from reading this book.

➦* Note: ARC kindly provided by author in exchange for an honest review. This has not influenced my review!

This book was refreshing for me as I don’t think I have ever read a book with a similar plot, which made my reading experience better.

Plot
The book starts of with Kat verbally asking for a separation after an incident regarding Evan was publicized. After 6 years of being together (1 year relationship and 5 years marriage) Evan knows he fucked up but he refuses to give up on Kat at the same time is not willing to share with Kat what actually happened that night. This book then just covers Kat and her feelings towards the incident, how she is trying to stay strong for herself and trying to pick herself over Evan. And Evan trying to figure out what he can do to fix things with his wife.

Characters
Personally for me, Kat is a strong character as she so badly wishes to go back into Evan’s arms and forgive him but she can’t. When you have been in a relationship with someone for 6 years you can’t expect to just switch off your emotions towards them when a HUGE ASS obstacle is being thrown at you. That’s why I was completely fine with Kat’s thoughts and her decisions. I feel like it’s natural for any person to feel and have such thoughts during a situation like that. Especially when Evan was being very stubborn and not letting Kat be alone with her thoughts. He was persistent on trying to fix things with her but the only issue was of him not coming clean with what happened that night.

Evan, I’m really confused with him, until 67% of the book I really did feel sorry for him. I was rooting for Kat to push him away until he finally confesses to her what actually happened but that didn’t mean I didn’t feel sad for him when I was reading his POV especially when I got to know about what happened that night. But all of that went out the window after 67% of the book. It’s just Evan fucked up really bad with his words. He just didn’t know when to shut up or what to exactly say in a moment like that. Just throwing the words “I love you” ISNT ENOUGH EVAN. AND THANK GOD KAT also felt the same way!!!

Now I really hope Kat keeps this up until the next book. I’m conflicted if I want her to be with Evan or not 😏😏😏
Like Evan really needs to grovel after his last confession.

I read this as Damaged. He did cheat but before they were married but they were together. He didn't tell her until now and I don't know exactly why he told her. He was with the woman he cheated with but there was no cheating after he got married or that night. I was still disappointed in him. But he did love his wife. He got scared because they were getting serious so he cheated. Great excuse NOT. And it sounded like he lied to her all the time about his partying with the clients he protects. One died and he needed an alibi so he calls up the one woman he actually cheated with and brings her to a hotel and pictures get taken. She sees them and even though it was before they were married she is shattered. Big time. I felt sorry for her. There is also the mystery of who killed Tony?

I do want to read the "elevated" re-write though. Bought waiting on Kindle.

And slowly your heart breaks as you watch the most sacred thing fall apart in front of you…you watch it with teary eyes, trying to find a glimmer of hope, but there is none…no hope, no strength, no power left to overcome that obstacle that is ruining your happiness…
Profound, emotional, passionate….with the perfect touch of love and torment, Willow Winters has outdone herself with this gripping story, where raw emotions are simply leaping off the pages. Every perfectly chosen verse, every impeccably written word speaks of devotion and love- love that makes you swoon and cry at the same time – a unique relationship that is hard to find, and yet destroyed due to recklessness....
Kat and Evan - united under the vows of marriage, separated from their own choices, committed to their careers, neglecting the uniqueness of that strong feeling that unites them, sharing sighs, sharing passion, sharing special moments of complete belonging, but not sharing the weight of hasty decisions .... One true connection between two souls that is a blessing and burden at the same time. True passion, deep love and sizzling chemistry…two people made for each other, perfect…except the lies and the secrets become something that cannot be ignored…Maybe forgiven, but never ignored…
One more time Willow Winters has created a real whirlwind of emotions that will pull you from the first moment and grab hold of your heart, squeezing slowly with each page. A slow-burning world which pierces our hearts with each chapter, each perfectly fitted description, each heart-rending verse. No matter how hard you try, you fail not to feel every emotion of those two beautifully developed characters. Kat, like a delicate flower before the first frost, so strong and so fragile at the same time. A woman who knows where to put an end, even though the pain is too great… a woman who wants to continue with her life, ready to collect all the broken pieces of what was once her life, a woman who knows that love is not always enough ... And Evan, the dark prince, who rules her heart. Protector and tormentor at the same time ... Yes, we can condemn him for his recklessness as much as we want, but we cannot ignore his pain, nor his attempts to keep what he loves most ... And the chemistry between them is something that is so powerful, such a connection that as a celestial force makes them submit to the power of all those feelings ... And you as a reader, feel everything, every tear, every sigh, every devastating thought that torments both of them.... that is the masterful skill of this author, who with her magical talent crawls under your skin and transmits all the emotions that spring up in every page. And as you read the last words, you realize it is not the end, only a new beginning- a beginning when you start counting down the days until the conclusion of their story is released.
I simply cannot find the right words, which will help me do this book justice. If you would like a truly emotional and heartbreaking novel, which is filled with love, pain and mystery and will dig its claws into you and will not let go until the very last words…then you definitely need to read this one.

This was an unexpectedly great book. It was only barely on my radar, but Cc, my fellow angstwhore, had it on her angst shelf and that’s like temptation fucking personified. Trawling the shelves of trolls is gold mining, but the shelves of angsty bitches is diamond mining. Just sayin’

I don’t want to spoil too much of the actual plot. It’s kinda great, I’m hoping the suspense gets ratcheted up further in the next book. The H was a fuck up but not a serial whore. He cheated once, very early in their relationship, way before they married, and he immediately realized his mistake and how deeply he felt for the h. But he never told her. It was shitty as fuck, but he’s completely devoted to h. He doesn’t cheat again, and definitely not in the present. The h has an OM interested in her after the H/h start separation...she’s kinda open to it and kinda broken over it.

The chapters are 85% devoted to the inner turmoil of the characters and their past. His inner and external grovel are real. 10% is devoted to the actual plot of WHY their marriage is failing. And, 5% devoted to what’s currently happening in their life. The whole thing felt a bit drawn out, but worth my attention span. (The struggle is real.)

I truly enjoyed reveling in the characters’ misery. The devastation was so raw. So real. That’s why I read this trope. I can only hope they find their way back to each other in the next book.

RANT Alert:
I have a minor in creative writing. I’ve read more than my fair share of legit literature. Love the Germans and Russians. I just fucking hate poetry. JFC do I hate poetry. And BAD poetry, fuck, even average poetry, should be reason for banishment from polite society. That said, I LOVE LOVE LOVE WORDS. When authors throw in poetry they’ve written (or, holy fuck, the plethora of bad lyrics in the Rockstar genre), I often groan, roll my eyes, and skip it. This time I thought, Mo, you’re such a bitch, give it a rest, read the poetry. ROFLMAO, yet again, a MF’ing mistake.

Note: I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Kat and Evan...so different yet so alike.

Their chemistry is off the charts...even when they have problems.

Miscommunication is still at-go here it seems.

But the writing, the plot, the romance, the characters, the cover, the friends, the family - nothing can break these two apart...even if they are meant to be apart.

I NEEEED the second book honestly to find out what happened between the two..and if they will ever resolve it...

Awesome book yet again by Willow Winters.

Until the next read,

I read this story when it was first published years ago as Damaged and it has been one of my favorite books written by Willow ever since. Reading the revised version has just assured me of that! I still love Kat's and Evan's story just as much as I did the first time. This story is HIGLY emotional! The focus of the first book in the duet is more on the emotions the characters are living and experiencing than the actual storyline. There are quite a few heart-breaking moments when you want to just hug the characters or sob alongside with them. What I love about it is that we are already pulled into a story of a married couple, so while we don't see them at their beginning (there are flashback though) we get to see the real deal, the issues that change and shape marriage into various forms. There is an undeniable love and adoration between the characters, as well as chemistry.

I would dare to say that this is Willow's most emotional book. Five stars for sure!

After meeting Kat and Evan in the first duet in this series I was really intrigued to read their story. Romance books about couples that are already married always attract my attention and this was no different.

Kat as we know runs her own publishing company in New York city and Evan is a fixer for a PR company, making sure the celebrities he looks after have everything they need and want and that it's all kept under wraps. Both Kat and Evan are career driven people and as a result they have drifted apart. When an article and photos are leaked about Evan meeting with a female co-worker in her hotel at 3am, Kat confronts Evan and he won't explain himself. Kat decides that maybe this is the sign that proves their marriage really is over.

What I loved about this book was that it is so stripped back, it's focuses on the couple and their emotions, the difficulties they face on deciding if their marriage is worth fighting for and all the conflicting thoughts and feelings that go along with that. Of course their is more to the story of what Evan has done and the frustration about why he won't just explain to Kat is a big piece of the story. This novel for me was one I could get lost in, connect with the couple and what they are going through. I enjoyed the simplicity of a linear storyline that wasn't overly complex and it was just left to breathe, just be without all the frills, bells and whistles. I am looking forward to seeing how the duets ends when You Know I Need You releases.

This story is raw and very emotional.
The breaking up of a marriage in which both people still love each other deeply.
Things are crumbling around them and it’s devastating
Kat and Evan love with each other so much.
The connection is absolutely there.
Their love and devotion can be felt.
But one photo with Evan in it will change the course of their marriage.
Evan’s tabloid picture sets the start of the ending of many things.
His marriage is now in jeopardy.
But there are also deeper darker secrets hidden.
Lies being told and waiting to be revealed.
It was sad and heartbreaking seeing these two go through so much sorrow.
So much pain.
Their commitment is there.
Their communication is not.
This story had my emotions all over the place.
And needing a box of tissues close at hand.

The love that Evan and Kat have is that once in a lifetime love. When they first locked eyes they knew it. The connection they had was undeniable from the start. Six years later Kat has her work and Evan has his. They have it all, sure it is not like it was before Kat's career took off, but they still have so much love, but then it all falls apart with one picture. Evan and his bosses wife! On Pages Six of all places. He say it is not what it looks but refuses to explain. Kat loves him so much she just want him to give her an answer. But Evan is hiding more that what a picture might look like. He wants to tell her everything but he knows he she will leave for good. This book is a Rollercoaster! And the cliffhanger omg. Who, what, why….I want to know! This is a great read by Willow Winters! But now I am ready for the next book!!

Any ideas on this, ladies? I cant't remember if I like W. Winters or not. Also, not clear on what he did. I read through a couple reviews and it's clear he did something , but some readers have issues if the H even thinks about another woman, much less sexually. Any info would be appreciated.

A f*cking masterpiece... This book was a masterpiece.

Kat and Evan, where do I start with these two? Well if you are wanting a romance that will rip your heart out and stomp on it, then this is for you... The angst in this was on high... With each page of the book, I could feel Ms Winters working her magic and so masterfully weaving her words together so they grabbed hold of my heartstrings and tugged. I was sobbing like a baby through at least 80% of this... The love story and heartbreak that is Kat and Evan's story took me by surprise, I knew it was going to be emotional... I was warned, but jesus christ, I could feel my heart breaking in pieces just like the hearts of the characters.

I'm not diving in deep with this, I believe people need to go in as blind as possible to get the real experience and to really feel the heartbreak and angst that fills this book. All I will say is that, make sure you have a box of tissue, a pint of ice cream and no plans for the day because this book will consume you from the first page and have you craving second book in the duet so badly now...

Emotional, drama-filled, and heartbreakingly beautiful are just a few words to sum up You Know I Love You.
Side down, hold on tight and be prepared for an emotional rollercoaster of a ride.

Highly recommend this!

Evan and Kat’s marriage is in a downward spiral with no parachute. Their careers have come between them in their marriage. Evan appears to have cheated on Kat and she can’t forgive him unless he is totally honest with her. But Evan fears his total honesty will cause Kat to stop loving him and consider him a monster. There is so much love between them that they seem destined to be together no matter the odds. But once trust is lost can there be a marriage? Can Kat ever trust in Evan and his love for her again? Is their intense passion enough to sustain the marriage. This book is steeped in raw and honest feelings so beautifully written you can feel the pain of Kat and Evan and root for them to find their HEA. I look forward to the second part of their story.

Kat and Evan have an undeniable whirlwind love for each other. It is passionate, wild, crazy and explosive. They both have amazing jobs that keep them busy working hard long hours, but it never stops the passion and love they have for one another, until the headlines one morning push the limits of what Kat can take and their world's explode in a direction neither one of them ever saw happening. Love really is not enough sometimes to save everything and the strength Kat shows in standing her ground and how her eyes open to how blinded love really made her shows her she needs to be strong, because she cannot live in a world of lies and everyone does need to grow up at some point,  even if it means sacrificing your own happiness in the end.

This book hit me in the feels and this is only one part of Evan and Kat’s story. Even though there are some issues in their marriage and Kat is wanting a divorce, their love for each other is so strong. The emotions that Willow has created for these characters will hit you deep and have you wanting more of their story. Loved this story and can’t wait for the conclusion of this epic story.

I feel like I’m missing something. I think I’m supposed to be rooting for Kat and Evan to stay together, but I just…can’t.

Kat and Evan are on the verge of divorce and it’s all because of the secrets Evan is keeping. Kat isn’t blameless, as she has become a workaholic and neglected her relationship, but the bulk of the problem lies with Evan.

Evan lives in a world filled with secrets as a “fixer” for the rich and famous. And until now, Kat was okay with being in the dark and burying her head in the sand. She could easily ignore the dark and possibly illegal things her husband has done. But it all comes crashing down when some damning photographs of Evan and another woman are released to the media, forcing Kat to acknowledge and face their problems.

My issue with YKILU is that I didn’t particularly like either Kat or Evan. Kat seemed exceptionally weak, unable to stand up for herself. And Evan was a liar looking for absolution.

The suspense and thrill of Evan’s secrets kept me hooked, but I’m truly hoping for some redemption for both characters in the the second part of the duet.

First chapter, the tears were streaming down my face and my Heart was breaking.
It’s intense and Raw, you can feel the silence in the room of the scene, the tension and heartache ....

These Two are full of passion and their love for each other is deep, their chemistry is blazing and it’s like no two people are meant for each other as much as these two are ...

The secrets and lies are killing them and destroying their relationship but it’s also a protection in a way, and we all would
Do anything to protest those we love ...

Having previously read this story when it was first released I don’t remember it hurting so bad but It only confirmed what I already knew ... it’s my favourite Willow book and couple of all time !

I cannot express how much I love this story.
A journey to fight for a love that’s too strong for anything to come between. A relationship, a marriage meant to work, proof that sometimes honesty and a little hard work is needed, back to basics to remember the love shared, the appreciation for one another. Make time for one another.

I’m a sucker for an emotional read. But some just feel real, some are so raw and Brilliantly written you feel like your living it, you feel every break and shatter of the heart as much as the characters would and this story is exactly that!
Apart from One book, the last Couple of weeks I’ve been pretty much in a book Slump but I’ve devoured this intense addictive read in less than a day and I’m Not only excited for more but in a state of need and craving right now ....

(I know that some people may be put off when starting this story because I know a lot people
Do not like cheating stories, and the impression this is one of Those Is there but I must stress keep going with it and give it the chance for all to be revealed, Otherwise you’ll be missing out on a definite top read that more than earns every one the 5 stars !)

I really loved that this time, we get to watch a married couple. We met Kat and Evan in the previous duet, and we knew something was wrong. We finally get their story. And it’s a sad one. Without giving too much–because, as usual, Willow doesn’t give us all the puzzle pieces at the beginning–I want to say how much I loved this story and why.

They aren’t a happy couple. Something happened that broke Kat’s trust in her husband, and she wants them to go their separate way. But there’s so much love between them! I was a bit annoyed with Kat because she doesn’t seem to know what she wants exactly, but at the same time, I could understand the difficulty of making her decision. And I wanted to hug Evan so much, because even though he’s described as a bad boy and an alpha male, he’s also vulnerable and loves his wife unconditionally. It was painful to watch their struggles.

Now I’m rooting for them, and I hope to see their happily ever after in the next book!

Quickie

- Series: You are mine #3 (first book of the second duet of the series, ends on a cliffhanger)
- Hashtags: #romantic suspense #secrets #established couple
- Triggers: cheating, death by overdose
- Main couple: Katerina & Evan Thompson
- Hotness: 4/5
- Romance: 3/5
- + a story about an established couple, though a bit dysfunctional and in the middle of a crisis, but still! Yeah!
- – they seem to like their drama

This book was an intense read! It was real, raw and completely heartbreaking. I wasn't sure what to expect going in, but Willow has surprised me yet again and written a story that will leave you reeling! We already met Kat and Evan in the first You Are Mine duet and I was really excited to read about an already married couple. Especially knowing it was already hinted at that there were things being hidden in their relationship! I really enjoyed this book and it completely tore my heart out. Kat and Evan's relationship may not be the best for either of them, but they love each other. Should they stay and fight for each other or run? I loved Kat and just feel for her so much. I also loved Evan though and that's the one thing about reading dual perspectives, you feel his love for Kat, even while you understand Kat's dilemma. This story was filled with angst and will leave you an emotional wreck! It also had the perfect amount of suspense that will have you waiting on the edge of your seat for the ending in You Know I Need You!

“It only took one night; one moment, and my fate was sealed.”

Emotional. Angsty. Another great book by Willow!

You Know I Love You is book one of Evan and Kat’s duet. It immediately jumped right into an emotional and heart-breaking story.

One thing that Willow is amazing at, it’s giving us characters and a story that we can CONNECT with and I think that’s so important sometimes. You click with the characters easily, the words suck you in and you are so engrossed in the story that you don’t even know you’re reading anymore. That’s what Willow did to me with this book.

I was engrossed from the very first page and I am still dying for more of Kat and Evan. I can’t wait to see what comes next for these two. This story is one of my absolute favorites from Willow.

“I couldn’t possibly feel more pathetic at this point. Because I love him and hate myself for it.”

This is my first Willow Winters book. The chemistry between Evan and Kat’s characters is off the charts. The fit together easily and naturally. I was curious as to what caused their divide.

I devoured this book in one day so you are probably wondering why I only gave it 3 stars or maybe 3.5 and the reason is I have questions...

I feel like I’m missing something. You Know I Love You is full of emotions but they don’t really explain the discord between Kat and Evan. What truly lead to the fall out.

IMO both Kat and Evan are at fault for the failure. To me Evan gets the short end of the stick. The situation that unfolds, to me, isn’t worth calling it quits. Being upset, 100 percent. Needless to say I’m hoping that book two fills in these holes.

Overall, I’d say read it. I am looking forward to book two.
