About this ebook

She hates him.

He loves getting under her skin.

Travis King is the worst kind of a**hole.

He taunts me for being a good girl and mocks my high standards.

HeÕs cruel, crass, and has enough confidence to last two lifetimes.

And I hate him.

It wouldnÕt matter so much if he were avoidable.

But considering heÕs my older brotherÕs best friend and roommate, I see him more than IÕd ever want to. His sculpted abs and gorgeous eyes are wasted on such an arrogant man, which makes me hate him even more.

Even though IÕve had a crush on him since I was ten, the feelings werenÕt mutual and heÕs made that very clear. HeÕs always loved getting under my skin and one night against my better judgment, I let him in my bed. IÕve succumbed to his manw**re ways, but that doesnÕt change a thing.

Because the King is about to get played at his own gameÑand lose.

Checkmate, King.

This is book 1 in the Travis & Viola duet and must be read first. Suggested for mature readers only.

Book 1 in the Travis and Viola duet. Loved this friends to enemies to lovers romance. They were friends when they were growing up but thanks to a misunderstanding, her feelings toward him changed. Travis and Drew, Viola’s brother, live together so no matter how much she tries, she can’t get away from him. She decides to spend her spring break at Drew’s house and she is in for the surprise of her life when he tells her that he is going to spend time with his girlfriend. Now she is stuck spending that time with Travis. Loved watching them pick at each other. Their banter was so much fun. When they finally give into temptation and get together, it is explosive. This will end on a cliffhanger and what a cliffhanger it is. Time to move onto book 2 in their story. If this book is any indication, book 2 is going to be off the charts.

If you love the enemies to lover trope, this one is for you. The animosity between these two is off the chart. The underlying chemistry makes it obvious these two need to just hit the sheets LOL. Travis is your classic alpha manwhore, who is Viola's big brother best friend. When they were little they were very close. But somewhere along the line things change and now they seem to hate each other. These two can fight and both can deliver some zingers. I kept waiting for the drag out knock out fight at one point. LOL Instead they kiss and things get complicated after that. This does end in a cliffhanger and now I must find out what is going to happen to this couple. I'm not sure they can come back from that ending. I listen to the audio of this story and I feel the narrator did a good job in changing up her voice for each character.

***** AUDIOBOOK REVIEW ***** Lordy, Lordy, Kennedy Fox sure picked the only title this book could have ever had! Viola and Travis loved to hate each other!! They have one of the most aggressive relationships I think I've ever read (not including bully romances). I kind of agreed with Viola and wasn't digging on Travis's way with women. However, these two are not attached, in fact, the vehemently seem to dislike each other. If only they weren't so damn turned on by the other one. But, they are and they want to fight it.... and fight they do! Travis made me want to bash his head against a wall a few times! He drove me crazy with his man-whoring ways and cocky attitude. I loved Viola putting him in his place. I might have cringed myself when he dished it back out and put her in her place. She wasn't all perfection, oh no,, Viola definitely tried to drive Travis just as wild as he drove her. They both enjoyed pushing each other buttons until they couldn't take it. Speaking of not being able to take it... THAT ENDING!!! Or that CLIFFHANGER, I should say! Good Lord, I feel slightly crazed after that ending! 🤯 The narrator, Lia Langola, surprised me a bit. I'm a listener that really prefers multiple POVs to be performed by the respected sex. We get both Viola and Travis's POV here and Langola performs for both of them. I think what surprised me the most was I didn't hate it! Actually, it was the complete opposite... I enjoyed the narration immensely. I felt Lia really showcased the feelings both these characters showed especially the frustration bordering on anger.
