Suspense and Romance Yes, Please

David is home after three years in the military police due to heart issues. Mira has started her Donut Detective store and just purchased a small home. He gets a temp job as undercover for a nearby town and then things go very bad.
The characters are terrific with great backstories. The storyline has plenty of suspense both in the romance area and the store area. The surprises and twists keep you guessing. Loved the way it turned out and the big surprise at the end was great. Can not wait to read more from this author.

There is a lot going on in this story, some good and some where you are going to tilt your head and have to thing about it. David and Mira have were child hood sweethearts, as they grew up they talked about the plans they would have together. Her parents concerns were that they would not know themselves as individuals and wanted David to leave with no contact. This part makes me question things - I get the parent thoughts, but to the extreme.

David returns early from the service being discharged due to medical reason, and when he returned his world and dreams are being tossed like a salad. Mira has opened a bakery, has a different car and a she bought a house they had talked out. I can only imagine that David is feeling left behind of his dream.

David planned on joining the police force when he returned, this was something Mira and him discussed, now that he is back she does not want him to be on the force. Talk about blowing up dreams and plan.

Now there is more drama and suspense that happens after all of that. You may thing what else..... well it is something you would not expect.

Good read with a lot of part that will make you take a step back.

Was not a story for me....to much annoying and unbelievable

So I was not a big fan of this story, which was a disappointment to me as I usually enjoy books by Barbra Campbell. I just found most of the story unbelievable and things that did not make sense to me. Plus add in a heroine that I quite disliked and a hero who would not really stand up to her much. Sorry but I just think this book was not for me even though I know other readers will love it.

This isn't my favorite story by this author, I enjoyed the storyline and I liked David as character however I really battled to like Mira. She came across as spoilt, stubborn and a bit naive. Her way or no way type of thing. However David loved her and stayed by her side through all the drama that happened.

I've read several books written by Barbra Campbell; she has written another great short story; she is becoming one of my favorite authors. I can’t wait to read more of her books.

Mira & David was friends all their lives; they loved each other and were always together. He went into the service to give them time apart before committing to each other but when he returns after three years she is totally different and is even mixed up with a drug ring.

Will childhood love stand the changes that life brings?

This was a sweet and steamy romance about childhood love and how that changes as adults. David and Mira have spent the last three years apart and with no communication because her parents wanted to make sure they were in love for real and not just comfortable. Now David is home from the Army with a medical discharge and ready to start life with his woman. There is a lot to adjust to when he comes home. Will it be too much? I liked this story but as a little frustrated with Mira. She asks too much of him, in my opinion, especially with everything that changed while he was gone. I loved David though. He really tries to roll with everything and find his new place in her life. The ending of this story is terrific and worth the ride through a whole lot of thick and thin!
