I have one job at my ten-year reunion. To tell my high school boyfriend, Heath Riley, he has a son.

I didn’t keep that secret from him by choice, but the truth is going to kill him just the same.

In so many ways, I’m living my best life, running a fashion house I created and being a single mom to two beautiful children. I have everything I need, but that doesn’t mean I’m not lonely as hell. And sometimes, late at night, I still think of him. The one who got away.

Heath has always been sexy as hell, even before he was frontman for LA’s biggest rock band. When we broke up, it was so he could follow his dreams. At least that's what I thought.

And when we reconnect at our high school reunion, he wants to make up for lost time and be a family.

It sounds too good to be true. But I have major trust issues I’m not sure I can get past, and he has more going on than he is willing to share.

Can we work out how to fall in love all over again and really be a family? Or will secrets surface, putting an end to our dreams before they have a chance to come true?

The Reunion is a steamy, single mom, rockstar, romantic suspense.

This one took me a bit to get hooked on. And the chemistry between both Heath and Millie just wasnt there for me. At first. It wasn’t until about half way through when everything started getting heated and very interesting. There were times I almost couldn’t believe what I was reading. It absolutely threw me for a loop.

This series has been nothing short of amazing. And even though this book started out slow for me, I have been invested in the series for quite awhile. I knew it would pick up and I knew we were about to get the answers we have been needing for some time now. And oh my do we get the answers. In the end, I absolutely loved this story and adored the relationship Heath and Millie created after all these years.

If you’re looking for romance, suspense and edge of your seat twists, Steel writes those kind of books and more. And you will find all that bundled up in this amazing, well written series. I am dying for what comes next from this author. 4.5 Stars.

The Reunion is the first book I have read by A.K. Steel. For the most part I enjoyed Heath and Amelia's (aka Millie) story. I am going to be honest there were times it felt like the book dragged on. I had considered not finishing the story. But, I am a reader who feels I owe the author a chance to make it worth my time to have read the book until the last page. Let me tell you I have never been more happy with my decision.

This is my experience while reading the book. The beginning was really good - there was a lot of steam and the building of the foundation for the story was exciting to read. Then it lost my attention and made it difficult for me to pick the book up. By chapter 17 the book once again peaked my interest. The more I kept reading the more I wanted to keep reading. Once I got to chapter 24 there was no putting the book down. I could not get to the end fast enough to see how it all played out.

One of the things I really love is when an author can keep me guessing, but most importantly when they take me by surprise with twists I never saw coming. This is exactly what this author gave me and it really made for an overall good experience with the book. I am very interested in reading more of her books.

My advise if you decide to read this book is to keep reading and not skim through the chapters or skip chapters. I promise you will be happy that you read it until the end...it was that good!

This book had all sorts of surprises in it. A young couple split apart after high school Heath to be a rock star and Amelia to get married to another and have two children and get divorced. It wasn't until her 9 year old son broke his arm that she found out that Heath was his father. It took until their high school reunion for her to be able to talk to him and tell him. He was shocked but wanted to meet him. Heath got along great with her two kids and he was still in love with Amelia. They had their ups and downs but there were people trying to break them apart constantly. Some of the surprises I didn't see coming but it made sense in the story. It is well worth reading.

Heath and Millie

High school sweethearts who go their separate ways to follow their dreams. Heath is now a big rock star and Millie has been married and divorced with two kids. When an accident happens with her oldest secrets are learned and now with their ten year high school reunion coming up its time to spill the beans.

There were so many coming at them trying to tear them apart and the twists and turns made this even better.

Amelia and Heath were high school sweethearts. They split up to follow their dreams and life took many twists and turns. Now ten years later they are about to see each other and their worlds will flip upside down.
Super cute story. A second chance romance between two people who were meant to be together.

Heath and Millie. First loves during high school and the years of growing up. They split up to chase their dreams…although each takes a different path. 10 years later they reunite at their high school reunion. The sparks still fly but Mille has to tell him a life changing secret and their story grows from there. So many twists. Many I did not see coming. Scary how much power one person can have and how many people can be controlled. I enjoyed their chemistry and how much this book held my attention. Now I need to read all about Millie’s 3 sisters.

Well, I'm sad that this series is over. What a ride it's been. 4 sisters that are so completely different and end up with their soulmates.
Amelia and Heath's story was an absolutely beautiful read. A stunning second chance story. I did not expect those plot twists though. I knew there would be a few chucked in but blimey - i had no idea!! I always had a feeling that there was issues but not that!
Amelia grew to love herself and knew she deserved more. Heath gave and showed her that and more. The kids though - Ruby made me lol and Connor. What a brave kid.

***I received a free Kindle copy via Goodreads Giveaways in exchange for a honest review. ***

I'll be completely honest, this is not my type of normal read, but for some reason the little book summary on the giveaway page caught my attention, and I thought that it could be a break from my usual reads. It must not have been marked as one of a series when I entered the giveaway as I don't normally put my name in the hat for any giveaway that is listed as book #2-whatever, simply due to the fact that I rarely have read the other books in the series or have little desire to read them. Thankfully, this read pretty close to a standalone. You could tell that there was backstory to each of the other sisters' relationship, but full disclosure, after finishing this, I have NO compulsion to read the other three books that came before this, or the ones that will come after.

I was semi-invested in the story after a few chapters. It's dialogue heavy, with very little descriptors or background scenery, but that is not a deal breaker for me. However, halfway through the book, the author lost me. The male lead did such a cliche thing, that I was over it. Stereotypical alpha male behavior of ugly jealousy reared its head, and I was done. It added nothing to the overall story and served no purpose than some misguided attempt to show how much he loved his lady. I was not impressed, and to be honest, it was disgusting and disturbing to me. A far cry from sexy, to say the least.

The number one reason why I barely finished the book and will not pick up another is the "Smirk". "He said, with a smirk.", "I smirked", she was smirking". Everyone was smirking and it was beyond annoying. Why advanced readers, an editor, a rabid fan or even the author themselves didn't catch how often someone smirked is baffling. CONSTANT smirking, not smiling, not half grins, or lip curls, or grimaces. Just smirking. Writing this paragraph and using the word myself is aggravating me. I think I have PTSD now and any future use of the word might send me into a tailspin.

I feel like if this is your preferred genre, or a favorite author, then by all means, go for it, but I'll pass on any future offerings by this writer.

This is not your typical rockstar romance this one comes with drama, secrets, suspense, and a tad bit of darkness. Who doesn’t love all that right? But it also gives you that steamy love story everyone thrives for. A. K. Steel takes you on a captivating journey between two childhood sweethearts, Heath and Amelia who went there separate ways right after high school but swore to keep in touch, Heath Riley getting his big break and being signed with his band ‘4 Smoking Coyotes’ but Amelia was surprised with a unexpected pregnancy and 10 years later at a Class Reunion prepares to come clean to the only person she has ever loved. It’s not all hearts and rainbows throughout the book, their lives become messy but with a lot of determination they come out of it with their version of a happily ever after.
I enjoyed this book and the journey the author took with these two characters and how they couldn’t stay away from one another through all the trials and tribulations. Isn’t that what makes a good book a good book? I might have chosen to read the 3 other books beforehand but I will definitely circle back to them in the near future.

This book took us on such an emotional ride with quite a bit of action tossed in that kept me on the edge the entire time. Heath and Millie were high school sweethearts that loved each other so much, yet life and things got in their way. Heath went on the become a famous musician and Millie now runs an incredible fashion house and has a family of her own, but when truths come to light she knows she has to tell Heath the truth. The beginning and middle of the book was incredibly hot with so much passion between them while they reconnected trying to figure the next steps in their lives out and how to navigate it. I loved Heath and his tenacity to be in Millie’s life and do everything right by her. Millie was strong and at times it was hard for her to ask for help from others even family, but as Heath kept proving himself over and over she slowly opened up more. The ending was full of twists that was intense and had me so angry at a few characters like his manager, but the absolute worse was Millie’s dad. There was so much to unpack that he did to destroy their lives and man it was insane all the twists the author threw at us but it strengthened the bond between the characters and I devoured it all.

The book starts out like any rom-com: old high school sweethearts break apart years before so he can pursue his famous career and then come back together for the reunion only to find that he had a kid with his one and only true love. It has everything you could hope for with the boy-next-door, down to earth romance...which is why the suspenseful twist came as a bit of a surprise.

This is my first A.K. Steel book I've read and I went in expecting a sweet, feel-good romance (not that it wasn't, because it very much was) but the suspense was almost the added cherry on top that I wasn't expecting but totally enjoyed and loved. The romance captured my interest first and the suspense kept me reading until the last page.

The female MC, I will admit, started off as a bit of a push-over for an eldest sister but she grew into her she was and her confidence by the end which was delightful. And the male MC supported her the entire time. True female power!

This is my first book by this author and I look forward to more. This is a standalone. Amelia unknowingly kept her son from his father for over nine years. She made a series of horrible decisions, some of them at the prodding of her family. Heath has been living his dream as a rock star, including dealing with a stalker getting into his personal space. I love him just stepping in with the kids, doing whatever he can for them. He is all in from day two. Amelia is not anywhere near as committed as Heath. She makes some bad decisions for her family and does exactly what she promised not to. He follows through on every promise. She does not. He is amazing. There is a hidden bad guy in the story and it kind of comes out of nowhere how bad he really is. There is another hidden bad guy that is not as bad, but causes a lot of hurt. Heath is definitely the hero.

This is my first AK Steel book I've read and I was immediately sold. We are sucked into the story of Millie and Heath. They used to be high school sweethearts and after they finished school they lost touch as both went in different directions in their lives. When they meet again after years, the chemistry and attraction between them is still there. Heath has become a famous rock star Millie is now married and divorced and has 2 children. A wonderful story and well worth reading.

Heath and Amelia aka Millie split apart after high school. Heath is offered a great opportunity to build his music career, leaving his love back home.

Amelia ends up married to another guy and they have two children once they divorce. She doesn't discover until her son is 9 year old son that Heath is his father. At their high school reunion she gets her chance to talk to him. Thus their lives change. Will Heath and Millie get to work out this mess and find their HEA?

I enjoyed this read 📚!

High school sweethearts who go separate ways to follow their dreams.
Heath becomes a rock star.
Amelia marries, has two children and gets divorced. But when her oldest child turns out to not be her ex-husband’s but in fact her high school sweethearts baby she has one heck of a revelation to impart at their 10 year reunion.
A great second chance story with a few surprises and twists but ultimately a lovely HEA.
