The Gaunt Kindle Edition

4.7 4.7 out of 5 stars 8 ratings

A haunting love beyond time.

Emmaline, a frontier butch burned alive as a witch in 1720, still haunted the place where she was murdered when a young suffragette of the 1920s, Beatrice, tried to help her cross over. They fell hopelessly in love instead. Trying to join Em in death, Bea committed suicide and found herself chained to the room where she died.

For over a century, they haunted separate rooms of the same house, able to see each other only from a second story window, yearning forever for their lost loves. Their mournful cries gave life to stories of the Gaunt, a ghost who haunts the old Campbell house.

V, a handsome, masc presenting, ghost hunter and Sapphic romance author, now owns the house. On Halloween night, when beautiful kick-ass girly-girl, Nell, shows up Trick-or-Treating, V is totally enchanted. She offers to show her around the haunted house...and introduces Nell to its two resident ghosts.

With the friendly persuasion of a neighborhood witch, will the two living women give the ghost lovers their one last chance to pass over together; a day of life…in their bodies? After a century of loving and lusting from afar, what will that mean?

And if V and Nell do give up their bodies for a twenty-four-hour period, how will they be able to act on their undeniable attraction for each other?

Genta Sebastian runs with scissors, laughs without shame, sometimes writes naked, and can’t help dreaming big. A multiple award-winning author, she writes Sapphic romances, like The Troublemaker series:

A Troublemaker Never Cries (2nd edition of When Butches Cry)

A Troublemaker May Surprise

A Troublemaker Will Sigh (expected release date January, 2024)

She’s also written two novels for children living in Rainbow Families:

Riding the Rainbow (GCLS award winner 2015) for middle-school readers, and A Man’s Man for Young Adults.

She stepped into the horror genre with We Don’t Say Gay in Tranquility Bay! a trigger-warning horror story with a twist.

"Lost" is a novelette worthy of the "Twilight Zone". A grieving widow finds a strange child lost in a snowstorm, made of snow and ice.

But she started out writing wlw (women loving women, i.e. lesbian) erotica short stories that range from super-hot sexy sci-fi Martian/human first contact, to culinary cunnilinguists, to drag kings, to college and tropical vacations, exotic settings, unforgettable characters, and quirky situations. These stories are fully adult and not intended for young audiences.

This paranormal story was so very charming in the beginning. As the story developed it became so much more. Loved all 5 main characters. And those tears towards the end, they were happy tears. Great story!

This book wasn't the usual ghosts story. And all the characters were very likeable and funny. There was some twisted here and there that might surprise you either in a shock way or a laughable way. The love stories were nice and kinda sad especially with the two ghosts. But everyone gets their Happy Ending. I highly recommend reading this book. You will have a great time with it.

Touching and magical romance.
It's amazing what Nell and V who just met, would do to help a witch unite two female ghost. The ghost, Bea and Emm who were in love with each other from a distance for a century needed to find a way to be together before their only chance runs out for them. What can magic do to help them?
You'll be surprised. This story had me on the edge of my seat anxious for what was going to happen after I turned each page. It's full of unexpected surprises. Also hot and steamy.

The Guant is hauntingly lovely. We meet Nell who is trick or treating with her niece and nephew. V sees her with her niece and nephew, so she invites Nell to come and take a tour of the older house. Once Nell comes in, she's surprised at how well the furniture and interior have been kept up. V introduces Nell to Morti. Morti has a question that she wants to ask, regarding the ghosts haunting the house. Before meeting Morti, Nell does feel there's something in the house she can't see. What Nell learns is shocking and she's told that she can either believe the story or not. Nell heard the story behind the haunting, but is it really true? Come along for a haunting that defies time and what we think we may know. What a twisty, fun loving story that I loved being on the journey for and the awesome characters that jumped off the page.
