I was hooked from book one. River/Rose was fabulous. I laughed a lot, got angry and was shocked. I read one book a day. I only stopped.to work. My only negative was that thing that happened 76% into book 6 but by then I had to finish. The writing was amazing. The characters were so good. I highly recommend but not if you have triggers.

I binge read this set because it is SO.Effin.Addictive! This installment is deep. Beware the triggers and make sure you’re good, but it is so well written it isn’t like the triggers were thrown in for shock - they add so much to the story and especially one epically sad one really pushes so much emotion, it is phenomenal. I love the dynamic between Marco and River and how they will burn the world for each other. The ending ties up every possible breadcrumb I could even think about, even that book 1 chapter 1 that I wouldn’t have thought anything about not being addressed gets resolved before the end of the finale. This is the love story. This is what the whole series was setting up. This read will change how you view love. If you like strong FMCs, hot steam, alphahole, bread crumbs through a series, your love stories with spice, a little darkness, and a whole lot of naughty, or just want to disappear into a well written world that will pull you under - this is the book for you!

Overall, so many things happened in this book that has me shocked. I loved all of River’s men but Marco was defeated the best one for her. And Kai oh Kai could have been the one for her but unfortunately he was a weak man and made bad decisions. For a second there I thought this might end up being a reverse harem but.. nope.

I very rarely enjoy every book in a series. Most often they are a "rinse and repeat" of the first book. Not so in this series. Characters are well developed as well as story line. A little violent for my taste and a little shocked one character killed. Overall, books kept me intrigued throughout series.

This final book goes a little slower. There’s a lot of violence so tread carefully if mafia violence is not your thing.

Also, there’s a very brutal rape of a main side character. It is violent and disturbing and is a necessary piece of the story. The victim is not okay emotionally the rest of the story. I actually found this character and how they process the trauma relatable and realistic, but if you can’t stomach reading rape or the consequences of it, you will not want to read this last book.

There’s the usual dom/bratty sub s3x scenes between Marco and River. There’s just less smut overall in this book as this really is focused on wrapping up all the plot lines. Marco is hot as ever and River proves she’s a “bada$$ b1tch” (her words of encouragement to herself) throughout. You also have to wait a fair bit for smut in this last book, which shouldn’t be a problem because there was so much of it in previous books.

Smut scale: 2🌶 out of five. At this point, you should be used to how Marco and River tease and taunt each other into the rouch quickies they like. Marco’s dom side comes out, especially when River gets bratty on purpose. There’s nothing too unusual or kinky beyond him being controlling with the occasional spank or ass play. Previous books were a lot spicier and this one really is focused more on wrapping up the plot and showing the strength of Marco and River’s love for each other. The lack of smut scenes doesn’t detract and the series overall is 4🌶.

This book is perfect for River and her Forever love, but d@mn is the journey rough. Rough on River, her guy and their nearest and dearest but also the reader. This book has sent my emotions in a tailspin, my blood pressure high, caused some dehydration (got to have done with all these tears I've spilled) and yet made my heart so happy.
With each book in this series, there's been a growth in River that I've enjoyed reading, but in The Forever One she is the Fierce Queen that she's been becoming. I've loved it and I love her.
Her man, I'd keep him forever myself and let him be my Twin Flame ANY DAY! Ever since he's turned up on the scene, this man has had me salivating and going through batteries like no tomorrow. This book, he's all of that and yet so much more, leaving me swooning A LOT and falling more and more in love with him.
The writing is amazing, I can't even put into words how good it is. I am so grateful to have come across this dynamic duo and for being able to get lost in their world. The Forever One is truly phenomenal and this series is incredible. I couldn't recommend this enough, read it!

You have to read all six books to appreciate River & Rose. The characters are very well developed and I loved River's witchery ways along with the gorgeous Petal, Kai and Ev.
