IF YOU HAVE SEEN THE....CUBE......SERIES, YOU ARE IN FOR A TREAT. THOUGH NOT THE SAME, THERE IS ENORMOUS CLAUSTROPHOBIA AS WELL AS TERROR. A STRUGGLING ACTOR WHO YEARNS FOR FAME IS SEDUCED INTO PLAYING THE PART OF
A SINGLE MAN CAUGHT UP IN A LIVING ENVIRONMENT WITH ONLY MIRRORS, AND FINDS OUT HE IS BECOMING FAMOUS WORLDWIDE, AS HIS DAY IS BEING STREAMED. BUT AFTER WORK IS CONCLUDED, HE IS DRIVEN BY A LIMO TO HIS LIVING QUARTERS, IN WHICH HE REACTS WITH NO ONE. HE NOW KNOWS HE HAS ACHIEVED FAME, BUT AT WHAT PRICE AND WHERE ARE HIS ADORING FANS. QUITE A THRILLER WITH A TWIST OF A TERRIFYING CONCLUSION . A BRAVURA PERFORMANCE.

It's not the WORST attempt at this done-to-death symbolic theme, but the acting gets it pretty close to capturing that title. Every character, whether intentional or not, is an absolute stereotype from your run-of-the-mill jerk slumlord/landlord and your "I made a mistake so I'll reach out to an ex" character to your meta narrator whos presence is inconsistent and arguably unnecessary as well as your expectedly disconnected Hollywood staffers.

Despite the lead actor seemingly being cast in a meta role as a bad actor playing a bad actor, looking past that you'll find a movie that's filmed and framed in such a way that you just tolerate the plot holes (i.e. Why would you ask for a sledgehammer then use a knife to bust through drywall and brick?!)

The good things about the movie? It's run time is mercifully 71 minutes.

I could have done without the narrator. It was a bit too cheesy. The screenplay needs work. If I hadn't slogged through the first 25 minutes, I'd have never reviewed it. And if I had, it would have been 2 stars without commentary. But I give it a firm 4. If the first third had been better, it would have been 5.

The people who panned this movie, in my opinion, are completely wrong. They're entitled to their opinion, but I have to wonder what they do for a living. My guess is it's nothing remotely connected to the film industry. So I say pay no attention to them.

Watch this movie. Once you get past the first third, which might be difficult if you're the impatient sort, the film takes a distinct turn and, in my opinion, gets much better. It gradually becomes clear what's going on as it moves towards the end.

Watching this movie left me feeling the great pangs of loss for people like Robin Williams, Kurt Cobain, and so many others who opted out. This movie paints a poignant picture of success which never produces happiness. In fact, quite the opposite.

I invite the people who said awful things about this movie to give a bit more thought to it. Perhaps even rewrite their reviews, soften them up a little bit.

It's not a horror movie, but more of a "psychological thriller". It was overall an ok effort for a B movie, and I watched it all the way through, but I didn't like it much.

This movie should of been called "Risky Business"...I believe that's where the director and writer got his pace for this film. The lead actor for some reason captivated me as much as Tom Cruise was able to captivate America in his first lead role in Risky Business. Though the movie has the pacing of Risky Business, the movies plot is more like watching an episode of the twilight zone meets one step beyond....I really enjoyed it!

It is so ironic that the main character is playing a bad actor, while he himself is playing a the role he was born for, a bad actor!
Honestly though I really enjoy artistic and metaphorical movies...but this one wants to be so deep and introspetive, when in reality its just all over the place crap.
I mean an hour in they introduce a gf character which has no reason at all, it is called the box and at one point goes 40 mins with out any box scenes. It just is trash....the other "The Box' movie is really good however, do yourself a favor and check that one out.

Set in LA, California, present day.

Lewis is an actor trying to break in to movies and not having much luck. Too much competition and not enough good parts.

The premise is that when he sleeps, he dreams of being locked in a house with mirrors. He attempts to break out but each door he opens only reveals a mirror. The introspection of self is quite obvious.

He finally gets a call back when his first reading was tempered by his locked house with mirrors dream.

This film is something that all aspiring actors who travel to Hollywood will relate to. One has to feel sympathy for Lewis/Tyler as he's getting to the age where no one wants to employ him as an actor. There are some flashbacks to his youth.

The issue with the film is that it wanders aimlessly through the plot. The viewer wonders if Lewis/Tyler will get out of the house. When he meets the producer, it's at his home. When he meets the director, it's in the locked house. The analogy apprently is that even when one becomes famous, he's still trapped.

The ending is lame which is why I give it 4 stars, but some will like the psychology of it. I wasn't really impressed but it's a decent film of interest to those who went through the trials and trubulations of the Hollywood scene.
