Worth the price and more

After trying several nylon rigs and being disappointed with most, I finally found the one for right for me. There are better ones I'm sure, but for long time steel stringers looking to try nylon this is one is perfect. Plays great - I pick it up almost every time I sit down to pick a little - it has certainly broadened by playing. Thanks to the good folks at Sweetwater for hooking me up with this guitar. I look to these guys every time I have a little extra cash to invest in my "hobby." Give the Takamine a try - you won't be disappointed.

Takamine GC5CE

I have a La Patrie Etude model classical which now are made using the Godin name but still called
the Etude model. It has a solid Cedar top and sells for about $600.00 new without a preamp or cutaway body.
The Takamine sounds better unplugged than the Godin La Patrie which is made in Canada. The La Patrie is a nice
sounding guitar in its own right but again the Takamine does sound better. I bought the Takamine new from Sweetwater
a couple months ago and for what you get it seems like a fair value for the money.
Music background: Singer songwriter.

Very pretty, decent elelectronics

This is rare to find a classical that sounds better plugged in then with a Neumann KM 84 in front of it. I had no idea Takamine started farming from their Japan construction facilities to China. There was quite a bit of information miss information on this ace. It is not a rosewood neck it is not made in Japan and frankly it sounds like a cardboard box with six cheap strings on it. Imagine that, $ for a mediocre/ intermediate Chinese classical guitar with no case nowadays. Yeah I think somethings really wrong with the economy all over the world. My recommendation is to never buy a guitar and I should have played it for us no matter how good the salesman or the apparent deal
Music background: 30 years educated guitarist. Professional union audio engineer
