Yes, this speaker is made of high quality plastic.

I will put it to you like this If you don't know who Turbo, Ozone or Special K are you probably won't think very much of this  Boombox,  but if you are from the era who knows exactly who I am talking about you will LOVE this little boombox...The only thing I don't like is that it has no internal chargeable battery.  It has a power cord, but you will need 6 D batteries to make your Street Rock!!!!

I purchased this to play tapes to exercise with at the swimming pool. Good sound and easy to carry and since battery operated, very safe around water. Only had it a couple of weeks so far, but am quite satisfied with it with one exception. It will destroy a tape if you attempt to re-wind it. However, I can live with that if no other problems crop up.  The radio works well and I personally like the fact that it's not digital.

Nice attempt at a retro tape player

As others have said, the sound quality is not the greatest but the addition of bluetooth, micro sd and usb reader, plus internal rechargeable battery are welcome additions.  It has an auxiliary input but I'm getting some static and pops from it.  This is our second unit we're trying out and both have/had a loose function switch.  Love the style and retro aspects but not sure will keep due to quality and sound quality issues but I really want to like it.

Unfortunately, even though I was very excited to get this radio, specifically the cassette player did not work which was the entire reason I got it.

Defective

The speakers have a loud buzz when using the cassette player. I pretty much bought it to make mixed tapes . Im sending it back.
