He tasted like tequila and the fake name I gave him was Rose.

Four years ago, I decided to get over one man, by getting under another. A single night and nothing more.

I found my handsome stranger with a shot glass and charming but devilish smile at the end of the bar. The desire that hit his eyes the second they landed on me ignited a spark inside me, instant and hot. He was perfect and everything I didn’t know I needed. That one night may have ended, but I left with much more than a memory.
Four years later, and with a three-year-old in tow, the man I still dream about is staring at me from across the street in the town I grew up in. I don’t miss the flash of recognition, or the heat in his gaze.

The chemistry is still there, even after all these years.

I just hope the secrets and regrets don’t destroy our second chance before it’s even begun.

Willow started writing after having her little girl, Evie, December 2015. All during her pregnancy with Evie she continued to read and she only wanted to read romance. She was reading a book a day — sometimes two.

In January 2016 Willow was staying up late with Evie and just thinking of all these stories. They came to her constantly so she finally sat down and just started writing. She always wanted to do it so she figured, why not? Today Willow cannot be happier for making that decision!

The Hero(s): Brody - he is an entrepreneur who is opening a brewery and a bar in the South Carolina island community that Magnolia grew up in.

The heroine: Magnolia - she is a single mom with a 3 year old daughter. She has gone through some very difficult times, but is coming out on the edge of them now and is making a life for herself and her daughter.

The Love Story: Four years ago Brody was mourning the death of his grandfather and had a one night stand with Magnolia who told him her name was Rose. She had just been dumped over the phone by her high school sweetheart whom she had dated for 5 years. She got drunk and in the morning got a phone call that made her run back to her hometown.

Brody moves into Magnolia’s home town and they recognize each other immediately. Neither had forgotten about the one night they spent together. Brody immediately wants to date Magnolia and she wants to tell him about her daughter. She had tried to find him after she discovered she was pregnant but wasn’t able to remember where the house was where he was staying and she didn’t know his last name.

The story was a good one. Magnolia has something with Robert, her old boyfriend but it is unclear what her feelings are and it seems a bit shady on his part. Though it is obvious when Brody comes into the picture that she wants him. I was unclear as to what was happening a lot of the time and most of my questions were answered in the end, but I think this could have been one book instead of two. It seemed short (Amazon says it is 242 pages), they went fast. I would have guessed it was at least 100 pages less than that.

It just seemed a bit dumb that magnolia couldn’t tell Brody about her daughter when it was such a small town and much of it centered around the fact that nothing is secret in a small town where gossip abounds. So if she wanted to be the one to tell him, she should have just done it on their first date. Though I will give Brody credit for not wanting to know what the town gossip was about Magnolia and wanting to find out about her himself.

I voluntarily read & reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts & opinions are my own.

Brody & Magnolia’s story
ღ. This will captivate you from the first page & leave you wanting more at the last one. The chemistry between these two is off the charts hot. This is a well written & very entertaining story.

In full disclosure, I'm a huge fan of everything Willow Winters writes, so I happily jumped into this one, fully expecting a great read, only thing that I didn’t like was the cliffhanger!

She's a small-town southern girl who went off to college in the big city somehow in between there she managed to keep long distance relationship with her high school sweetheart for 3 years, out of the blue he decides that the relationship no longer works

Tired of crying over a relationship that no longer works she decides to have a one-night stand with a stranger

That one night changed her life dramatically. Then she gets a call the next morning that completely shattered her whole world

That one night with that mysterious woman helped him in more ways than he could ever imagine he was not in a place where anyone would want to be

He never thought that he would see his Rose again, but 4 years later Destiny let them cross paths once again

This is a fun start to a new series from Willow Winters

. ⬇ With that said ⬇

📚 Hope you enjoy this read & also always keep in mind this is just my opinion+ Also I wouldn’t never discourage anyone from reading this book.

Tequila Rose is like the hang over after a night of tequila. Personally, I do not like tequila. It is a nasty drink.

Through out the story, I am confuse why Magnolia keeps the secret from Brody. Miss Winters does not explain it either. I felt something is missing in the plot. The reason why Magnolia keeping her daughter a secret is just baffled me. And not enoug suspense to hold the plot.

Since this is duet, maybe the answer is on the second book?? Anyone here read the next book??

“The one-night stand I had was my first and last.
Because that morning, my life changed forever ... in more than one way.”

Tequila Rose was the first book I read by Willow Winters and I loved it so much!! It was cute, sexy and just lovely! It's about Magnolia, a southern belle going to study away from home and the night that Robert, her high school sweatheart breaks up with her she goes out and meets Brody where they spend the night together.

“I don't want to be Magnolia. Tonight, I want to be a rose.”

The story is taking place a few years after that night and we get to see how much that night changed her life. Where is she now? Did she end up with Brody? Did she go back to Robert? Is she still studying or working? Where does she live now?

I really enjoyed this book! Granted I wasn't aware that this would be a love triangle, but it happened in a way that wasn't a problem with me. The writing style was really smart and the scenes were delightful to read. I didn't know who to root for. Brody won my heart, no doubt, but I can't say I'm hating on Robert, so it's not very clear to me what's going to happen in the end.

This book could belong in a few tropes such as single parent, small town romance and second chance and I truly love when there are babies or kids in general into books, so I loved the scenes with her daughter. Hopefully the next book will have more scenes with her. It's a sweet and light book to read and I recommend it if you need something like that. Let's not forget to mention swoon worth heroes and a strong heroine!! I can't wait to read the next book in this duet!! :)

These are 3.75 "frustrated" stars right here.
First thing, Tequila Rose is part of a duet so it ends in a cliffy but the second part will come out fairly soon.
Magnolia's boyfriend, Robert, breaks up with her suddenly when she is away to college and she has a drunk "revenge" one night stand with a tall and sexy guy named Brody. Not the best decision, but she was only 21 years old and hurting.
The next day, all hell breaks loose in her life and she leaves his place without getting his number and not knowing his last name.
Forward 4 years, Magnolia is back in her hometown in Beauport, Carolina. She has a 3 year old daughter and the last few years have been really rough on her. Robert is back in her life on a on again off again friends with benefits capacity.
Brody moves to Beauport of all places to open a bar and brewery here and they run into each other.
So this is the setup. First of all, this has a surprise pregnancy trope and I get that she could not contact Brody to tell him. But the indecision in telling him after they reunited was really frustrating to me. Magnolia is indecisive, young and beat down by her fate. She is torn between Robert and Brody. I did not like her.
Nor did I like Robert. I feel he took advantage of Magnolia and manipulated the situation to his benefit.
However, Brody is a gem of a book hero. I like him a lot. He fights for Magnolia from the moment they meet again and he is just a genuinely good guy.
However frustrating this book was to read, I can't wait for the second part of this duet.

My Rating: 2 stars
Genre Contemporary Romance | Love Triangle(ish)

Review Snapshot : I really wanted to love Tequila Rose, but it fell really flat for me. The book is too rushed for such an angsty plot.

︙︙︙︙︙︙︙︙︙

Tequila Rose is the first book in the Tequila Rose duet by Willow Winters. This book has many tropes and will likely be a winner for many readers, but it fell flat for me. The tropes associated with this one are: second chance, surprise/accidental pregnancy, small town, southern, love triangle romance. Phew, that’s a lot for one small book! Now normally I love all these tropes and find it even better when they are incorporated all in one book like this one. However, this one was way too rushed for me and the tropes that DO exist are really underwritten.

Possible Spoilers Ahead

I’ll briefly go over why I feel the tropes are underwritten 👇👇

• This is a second chance romance . The characters (Magnolia and Brody) had a one-night stand when she was in college and she left immediately without saying goodbye (her life ended up in flames because of a scandal involving her father). 3 years later Brody somehow manages to find her again when he “fatefully” begins opening a bar in her hometown. The second chance obviously comes in here. In addition to this, her high school sweetheart Robert (the one who dumped her right before she slept with Brody) decides he wants her back when he sees she’s starting to date Brody again. This is second chance number 2. Who does she choose? IDK but should find out in the next book. Now, why is this problematic for me? It was too easy. Both men wanting her at the same time is okay and lends itself to the triangle but Brody accidentally ending up in the same small town she lives in and just seeing her across the street? Seems a bit unrealistic to me. I like when my books feel realistic rather than forced.

• The accidental/surprise pregnancy aspect is good and all (I don’t mind the trope when it’s written right), but we don’t see much of her daughter in the book. It’s more like she’s an afterthought rather than the focal point of the story. We’re TOLD about her and see a few glimpses here and there, but she was never a priority in the story.

• The small town/southern romance aspects of the story are sort of the same way. Sure, the scandal turned everyone against Magnolia, but we never SEE IT. It’s as if the author is trying to get us to believe it without proving it to us readers. I was really disappointed with this because these are my FAVORITE tropes.

• I suppose this one COULD be considered a love triangle especially at the end, but there is never a fight for Magnolia (maybe this happens in the conclusion?). I want all the raw angst when it comes to love triangles and I never really felt this was that kind of book.

As you can see, this wasn’t a favorite book of mine and I hesitate to say I even liked it. Perhaps it’s just me being picky? I don’t know but it just didn’t work for me. I probably won’t even read the second one because I saw spoilers in another review in terms of who she chose. Either way, you can experience it yourself if you want to, but I don’t personally recommend it.

Thank you to Valentine PR for this Advanced Readers copy.

I will preface this by saying when picking this book up I didn’t realise it was going to be a duet so I think that seriously influenced my opinion of it. I also didn’t realise it would be a love triangle book.

I was super excited to pick this up as I love contemporary romances which revolve around a small town, accidental pregnancy and a single parent. A whole bunch of tropes that sounded right up my alley. Now each to their own but the love triangle trope is one of my least favourites so for that reason this book wasn’t a total win for me.

Though I do feel I am more likely to enjoy the sequel. It was well written and the characters engaging enough I just wasn’t super into the plot. I do adore a secret baby book though but the fact it might not even be a secret baby book was another reason I was apprehensive to enjoy it.

There is a lot of potential with this story and am excited to see where it goes next and develops from here. Also, there is quite a cliff-hanger so I will be reading the next book as soon as I can get my hands on it because I need answers.

Oh my God!!! My eyes. It was trash. I cannot believe I wasted my precious 2 hours on this rotten piece of shit. I HATE Magnolia. And I don't use the word hate liberally. What a bitch. I loved Brody. He was so sweet, charming, caring and understanding. Even Robert was an asshole. Aaaarrrrrrggggghhhhhh. I know I'll shamelessly read the next book because obviously it had to end on a cliffhanger and I want more for my Brody but I SWEAR this Magnolia is getting on my nerves.
In all honesty, Brody deserved better. Better than that stupid bitch.

Note: I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This story was brilliant, loved it. Although I did not appreciate the love triangle hinting - side note: I dislike love triangles - but I still loved it.

One steamy night. Two strangers. Mm, what could be more deliciously intriguing than that?

A heck load of obstacles, the characters' personalities, situations keep coming.

It is a true sight to see.

But I can't deny - it was a very awesome read for me.

Until the next read,

I have sooooo much to say about this, yet I don't want to ruin it for anyone. So, let me just say these few things-
This ends on a cliffhanger.
I don't like Robert.
I am really upset with Magnolia.
Brody deserves better.

I can't wait until the next one comes out to see where this goes. And if you want to know specifics about my thoughts, feel free to ask :)

One Chance meeting will change their lives as they know it. Three years ago, Magnolia Williamson got dumped and goes to a bar to unwind from her troubles. There she meets a handsome stranger named Brody Paine. Being recently heartbroken, she decides to tell him her name is Rose. One night to forget her troubles...what could happen, right? Well, that one night will change her life forever. She never thought they would ever see each other again in South Carolina. Brody can’t forget that mystery girl from the bar. Can he find her? What happens when secrets of the past threaten to change the present? This is an emotional, slow burn, semi triangle, second chance romance with all the feels. I can’t wait to see what happens in Autumn Night Whisky. Told in dual POV and ends in a cliffhanger.

Willow once more has created a story that will pull your heart-strings and grab your attention from the very beginning with its incredible blend of a surprise pregnancy, small-town romance, and possibly second chance romance.
Some rumors hide truths that are too big to be hidden. A night that offers everything she did not think she needed, a night of unbearable pleasure, of giving and taking ...., but also consequences that change the course of a lifetime ... And some innocent lies fade when the eyes they see the person who never fades from their thoughts, even after four years. That is the story of our heroine Magnolia, a girl torn between the old and the new. What will happen when all the truths are revealed and the feelings become visible?
A dark romance, mixing pain and pleasure, modern couple or romance in the small town of Beaufort, South Carolina ... absolutely it does not matter. The incredible talent of this author has the power to create stories, whole worlds, which will not allow you to watch them from the side, but as a whirlwind, they will drag you into their world and make you feel everything. What impresses me most is the fact that even on a classic theme, Willow manages to add a dose of freshness and uniqueness that sets the story apart from everything else. Using a small-town setting, she creates a story that contains so many classic elements, yet at the same time adding more than enough elements to keep the readers invested in the story till the very end. Magnolia, Brody, and Robert - mixed relationships and hidden truths, but perfectly created characters that fully correspond to this emotional, slow burn, semi triangle, second chance romance.
Tequila Rose is a perfect portrayal of a dreamy small-town romance, full of meddling townsfolk, funny and interesting moments, and more than enough steamy moments to leave you breathless. If we add the mystery and suspense in the mix, along with that unbearable cliffhanger then surely this promises to be one rollercoaster of emotions that will satisfy every romance reader.

First of all this was a pretty short read, however, it took me two entire days to read, when it shouldn’t have. At one point, closer to the end I was considering stopping, and coming back to this later on. But I forged through. I don’t know what to really say about the relationship between Magnolia, Brody, and Robert. It’s not really a love triangle... but let me just say I wasn’t feeling it (I mean no wonder I gave it 2 stars). Also, way to end a book, I mean I’ve heard of cliffhangers, but what a ridiculous ending. I know I won’t end up reading the next one. I’m not really that eager about this to really care. Good luck to those of you who want to take a chance on this. I hope it turns out to be a good read for you all, but unfortunately it wasn’t meant to be for me. I’m just glad I finished it 😅

I don't like Magnolia... I find her to be a damsel in distress personality. And I rather my lead women to be less “save me, feel sorry for me” then this.
In all fairness she did go through hard time. No fault if her own and the town seems toxic.
However, it's the decision made after that were I'm not liking.
Brody is a stand-up guy and a true victim in all this. Robert is a opportunist
He likes being the hero. The only one Magnolia depends on. And only when her eyes are elsewhere is the all of a sudden no longer ashamed. He's kinda pathetic...
The written and plots are great. I just fundamentally have issue with the personalities of the leads and supporting characters. I wish they have more grit.

***3,5 'Mixed signals!!!" stars***

IT'S AVAILABLE!!!

Honestly, I don't know how I'm feeling about this story...
This was my first book by Willow Winters and it was a really good story, but from some aspects, I got frustrated very badly, but hopefully, everything will get more clear in the second part of this story...
This was a lovely small town romance with a single mother as the heroine and we could call it a second chance story!!!
Magnolia and Brody had stolen the impressions, but I needed something more...

Four years ago, while Magnolia was still in college, her highschool sweetheart, Robert, broke up with her and she decided to fight her sorrow with going out and have a one night stand with a very charming stranger...
The next morning, her whole world tumbled down and she left in a rush, so she had no way to communicate with Brody again...

At the present, Magnolia is the mother of a three year old girl and she is starting to be in a good place, even though she had to endure too many ugly things in the past... Her two rocks that help her through all the ugly things in her life was her best friend, Renee and Robert...
Brody is moving into South in order to open a brewery and a bar with his best friend... And totally unexpectedly, he will see in front of him the girl of that night, the one who haven't forgotten!!!
And somewhere in here, things are starting to get complicated in every aspect...
The secrets and the lies are coming back to hunt them once and for all!!!

Well, I liked Magnolia, but honestly, I couldn't understand her most of the time.... On many levels!!!
I can not understand why she was keeping Robert so close to her and why she had this strange behavior toward Brody... And honestly, I can not understand what she really feels and for whom... So, I'm kind of frustrated at this point and i need the next book in order to find some light at the end of her soul!!! LOL!!!
Still... I can not deny that she was a good woman and that she did her best to provide a good life to herself and her child!!!

Brody is my favorite in here, even though i needed something more of him!!!
He was so understanding with everything and we already know that he has feelings for Magnolia and that he needs a second chance with her and this time for longer than one night...
The truth is that Brody and his 'Rose' were fitting perfectly together, but I'm not trusting Magnolia very much after what I've read in here, but I will give her the benefit of the doubt.

In here, I loved Renee very much and Bridget was sooo cute, but I believe that she had not much part in here, even though many things had built around her...
As for Robert??? Honestly, he is the one that frustrates me mostly in this book... I don't know how I'm feeling about him... He gives me weird vibes!!!
I just hope that i will understand everything better in the next part...

After the blurb for this book I was so excited to read because hello.......surprise pregnancy, small town romance and possibly second chance romance, that's my kinda book!

Unfortunately, I couldn't connect with the story and I feel it was because I lost interest which makes me sad because I wanted to love it. Magnolia had been through hell and back I get that, but she couldn't make a decision and it drove me crazy. Robert, well many words come to mind.....conniving, hero complex, jealous.....yeah, definitely not a fan. Brody, that man won my heart and had me swooning.....I will root for him until the very end!

As much as I wanted to love this book it was more a like kinda book but I still need to read the next one because I need answers!

It's been a while since we have had a true contemporary romance from Willow Winters and it was nice to be back in the romance lane, without the suspense elements she is well known for now. Tequila Rose is a small town romance, with a second chance vibe. After a break up in college Magnolia meets Brody and for one single night she gets lost, but by the next day her world is torn apart.

4 years later Magnolia is a single mother, trying to get by with help from her ex and he best friends. She is trying to live without the judgement from the locals after the scandal her Father par took in before his death 4 years earlier. Brody is back in town, opening a bar with his best friend when he see's a familiar face from 4 years ago he has never forgotten.

I really liked how the story was told, the flashbacks to Magnolia trying to raise her newborn and the support she received from Robert (her ex) was endearing. In the present seeing Magnolia try to navigate the awkward realisation that she doesn't know who her daughters father is and how to tell the guy who has just walked back into her life he may have a daughter, made up a little tension throughout. I found things I liked about all the characters so far, and I am interested to see how it's all going to play out. it's clear that the chemistry is there between Magnolia and Brody but will her guilt that she owes Robert so much for everything he has done for her win over?

My two gripes was it ended too soon, just as the story was building up the pace and I was getting invested in the characters journey it ended. Then for me Magnolia lacked conviction, she wouldn't make any decisions for herself, she constantly needed to "phone a friend" I just wanted to her to take control and have a little more gumption at times. I am looking forward to seeing where the story goes in Book 2 Autumn Nights Whiskey when that releases.

I NEED MORE! I couldn't get enough of this story! Magnolia and Brody are PERFECTION that I got addicted to with speed of light. And honestly, I have to praise Willow because that lady can do it all - dark mafia romance and even a small town second chance romance. This book has so many amazing cute moments, it's very sweet, but it does have its sexy moments as well. Magnolia and Brody have a great chemistry and you just know those two belong together. They meet again after four years when they had a chance encounter. Now, things are different. Beside those two, I also enjoyed the secondary characters (not you, Robert) who fit very well into the storyline. Great nice read, if you want something emotional but not overly dramatic!

Oh be still heart, be still...

After reading this, I didn't think it could get any better, but I was wrong. I listened to the audiobook and it was perfection... and I think this may be one of Willow Winters best books to date. Her softer and steamier side anyway! W. Winters and her dark romance will always have a special place in my heart.

THIS? This was amazing and I am needing book two NOW!
It was a small town, second chance, surprise baby and it was steamy as hell. Magnolia and Brody's chemistry was off the charts the moment they met and after four years the spark is still there. But do these two stand a chance if Magnolia is holding on to secrets or will this end faster than it started four years prior?

I NEED BOOK TWO!

As always, Ms Winters blows me away with her amazing ability to pull me into a story so deeply that I feel like I am a part of it.

5 Stars!

Book 1 in the new Tequila Rose duet and it was a great read. This will end in a cliffhanger but that doesn’t take away from this well written story. Loved Magnolia and Brody. They had a one night stand a few years earlier but he knew her as Rose. When he is in town and sees her again, the chemistry that was between them from before was still there. Loved their relationship but it won’t be an easy one. There are secrets and an ex with benefits that may get in the way of their path to the romance that never really was able to get started. Loved this read and can’t wait to read part 2 of their story. I want to know what is up next for them. Bring on part 2.

We finally know more about “Rose”–who’s actually called Magnolia–and her one night stand companion, Brody. And though there’s still a bit of mystery regarding the father of Magnolia’s daughter, we learn what happened after their night of passion.

That’s some coincidence that Brody ends up in the small town where Magnolia spent her whole life. But once you accept it, and you accept the fact that their unique night together meant so much to both of them, you can actually enjoy the romance. The small town here is as much a character as Magnolia’s circle of friends–that we met in other stories–or Brody’s friend and business partner. We read a lot about its cruelty and hive mind.

I loved how Brody and Magnolia reconnect, and the length he’s ready to go to seduce her and convince her to give him a chance. But there’s a lot of secrets and fears and traumas in Magnolia’s life, and it isn’t easy for her to give in. Plus, there’s one more problem between them.

There’s a third character that we knew nothing about, and he has an important role in the story. Robert is much more than the villain–he’s even quite nice, both with Magnolia and Bridget, her daughter, and he isn’t even harsh with Brody. All of that create uncertainties about Brody and Magnolia’s future together, and I can’t wait to read the next book to know how their story ends.

Oh, I completely loved this!

Magnolia meets Brody in a chance meeting after being dumped by her high school sweetheart Robert. They have one night together, where Magnolia had to leave suddenly due to a family emergency.

Magnolia and Brody have such an undeniable connection and I loved their interactions with each other. There's drama and romance and all I want is Magnolia and Brody to be together! Lol

This does end on a cliffhanger and I can't wait to see what Willow does in the next book!

Free 24/2/23 SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS🙄I don’t like a waffling heroine; nevermind one that waffles:
- over 500 pages
- in 2 “books”
- over 2 men
- about finding out who the father of her child is
- while sleeping with both men

I prefer a h who has more than 1 lover as opposed to one who has a flop of a love/sex life, but this one, in this context, doesn’t work for me. The desperation is real.😖
