Rate this book
The trauma surgeon, dedicated to his work…

Ivan has spent the better part of a decade working in the harshest regions of the world. A talented trauma surgeon, he has dedicated his life to making a difference in the lives of those less fortunate than himself.

With his father’s health deteriorating, his mother wants him settled at home, preferably with a wife by his side!

Ivan knows that pampering to the rich clients of his father’s cosmetic surgery practice would make both of his parents very happy, but could he ever settle for such a life?

The single woman, chasing a miracle…

Emma has spent the better part of her life in the shadow of her younger sister, unseen by most. Her job at the switchboard of the local hospital is fast paced and fulfilling, but she returns to an empty home each night.

With her biological clock ticking, Emma takes the plunge and flies interstate to undergo a round of IVF treatment using an unknown donor.

Emma knows this is her only chance, her savings depleted, all of her hopes rest on this single procedure.

A clinical error…

When a clinical error sees Emma accidentally inseminated with a sample Ivan provided decades before, their worlds collide.

Ivan has no intention of allowing Emma to raise his child without him, convinced that she is a manipulative schemer.

Emma has no intention of allowing Ivan to interfere, she doesn’t care how much money he has, no arrogant surgeon with a reputation for being a ladies man is going to tell her how to live her life!

A way forward…

Calling a truce, Emma and Ivan forge a tentative friendship for the sake of their unborn child.

When his mother’s interference has catastrophic consequences, will Ivan and Emma’s relationship be fractured forever, or will they be brave enough to stand up and fight for what they want?

This is a well written book with strong characters in Emma and Ivan. The author does a great job developing their relationship and taking them on an up and down journey on their way to their HEA. She paints her scenes perfectly and moves the story quickly and smoothly. It's a cute story and I enjoyed reading it.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.

This is book two in The Out back Doctor's Series and it is Ivan and Emma's story. Ivan is a trauma surgeon who helps people abroad that need help but can't afford it but when his father's health gets worse his mother wants him to come home and also get married which was not what Ivan wanted as he didn't do commitment of relationships but what happens next is something that he is not expecting. Emma works on the switch board at the local hospital but with her biological clock ticking she decides to have IVF by an unknown donor but things don't always go as planned. Ivan and Emma are both stubborn and know what they want but will they compromise and do the right thing for there unborn baby. I really loved this book with all its twists and turns and I had to keep turning the pages to see what would happen next. This is the first book that I have read by Kathleen Ryder but definitely not the last as it was so well written and definitely worth reading.

Emma and Ivan's Story . . .

Ivan Delgado has been all around the world providing his services as a trauma surgeon to those who could not normally afford it. But now his father’s health is not good and his mother wants him home and preferably married!

Emma is lonely and would like a child of her own before her fertile years tick away. She decides on IVF treatment using an unknown donor as her best, most uncomplicated choice. However, when the clinic accidentally reveals identities, and Ivan had submitted his sperm years before, he wants to be involved in the life of his child. Unfortunately, he had preconceived false assumptions about Emma’s character, thinking she is a manipulative schemer. Emma sees him as a womanizer and won’t tolerate his telling her what to do. But for the sake of their child, they need to work together. And as they get to know each other, Ivan realizes he has feelings for her.

When Ivan is ready to take Emma home to meet his parents, his mother’s interference may inadvertently ruin everything as a snowball of misunderstanding threatens an avalanche of disaster. Will they pull together once again for their child and their relationship? Or will Emma call it quits and walk away?

Emma wants a baby. She's getting older with no romance in sight and she wants a family. Someone to love her, something she didn't always feel growing up. She wants an anonymous donor so her baby will be all hers. Then a spanner gets thrown in the works and suddenly her baby's father shows up. Tall, gorgeous and a doctor and he's working at the hospital she works at. This will never work the way she planned. He just knows he can't let his child be raised without him. It will also take him away from the future his parents have planned.

I received a complimentary copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it.

The book felt disjointed to me. The way it went back and forget between the characters' POV was confusing. It may have been just a formatting error based on it being an ARC copy not the final version. Also there were plenty of spelling and grammatical error

The subject is an interesting one but it really felt off. I did enjoy seeing the dual POV format.

This is a very sexy book so I would not recommend this to someone under the age of 18.

Emma has decided to have a child on her own using an unknown sperm donor. When there is a mix up at the clinic revealing who they are, Ivan, the sperm donor, wants to be involved in the child's life. They do have a strong connection, other than the baby Emma is expecting. Could the mix up have brought them together for more than they expected?

This was an easy story to read. Although Ivan and Emma met through difficult circumstances, Ivan was determined to take full responsibility from the start. They had a few ups and downs but love eventually won the day. Nice story.

Goodness what a journey these two take! There are mistakes, assumptions, judgments, negativity, power plays, strong wills, family, friends, twists, character development, connection, chemistry, passion, plenty of emotions and falling in love. Some things I saw coming and others I didn't.

This is the 3rd book I've read written by Kathleen Ryder; I can’t wait to read more of her books.

She’s written a good story about Emma getting pregnant by IVF that was suppose to be by a unknown donor but because of a clerical error she is inseminated with the donation that Ivan’s sample.

I found this book to be an easy read. I was drawn into the story really quickly and it held my attention throughout the whole book. Emma is pregnant with Ivan’s baby due to a mistake at the sperm bank. Ivan wants to be an involved father and Emma wants nothing to do with him. Let the fun begin. I received this book from BookSirens. I’m voluntarily leaving my honest review.

I really enjoyed this book. Emma decides she wants a baby and takes matters into her own hands. Due to an error in the lab, the father wants to be more hands on than she ever imagined. Great read.
