Never in a million years did I think I’d be jilted on my wedding day.

Around the time Asher Rose was supposed to say “I do”, she was bellied up to a bar full of bikers, three sheets to the wind and feeling sorry for herself. The last person she expected to come to her rescue was Owen Shields.

He was tattooed, broody, and her ex-fiancé’s best friend. The arrogant jerk who was supposed to be the best man at her wedding was never supposed to be her knight in shining armor.

Falling for Owen was never part of the plan, but when the gorgeous town vet throws everything he has her way, including his adorable dog and angelic niece, Asher is in for the fight of her life.

This book is a dog’s breakfast. I’m leaning into the irony of this because the book is about a vet and heavily features two canines in the storyline. But honestly it fits because this book had no idea what it wanted to be and the author seemed to keep throwing new elements at us to keep some momentum for this pretty thin plot.
The beginning of the book caught my attention and features Asher, the FMC, right after being left at the alter. She is getting drunk at a dive bar and Owen -the MMC and her fiancé’s best friend- hunts her down to bring her home. It was sweet, Owen always had a crush on her but couldn’t act on it because she was with his best friend. Great start, yet everything went downhill from there pretty quickly.
I’m going to break down the major deficits of this books in list form, because I don’t feel like building cohesive paragraphs.

1. Spelling and grammar issues galore. This book needed a proofreader. I highlighted a few of the glaring mistakes to kindle, but there were so many that I just got tired and let them go. I hate this in a published book. My basic expectation of a finished book is that it be free from mistakes, this is the bare minimum for good writing and if you are a published author of anything, you should be ashamed of having so many errors in a finished work.

2. The cover: is he choking her? This cover conveys an edgy, dark type of book; hard alcohol, tattooed arm choking a woman. It makes no sense. This book is about a sweet and geeky veterinarian who has unrequited feelings for his best friend’s girl. It’s a somewhat sappy, instalove read which includes dogs. This cover does not fit with the book in any way. And also this cover is just aesthetically bad.

3. The premise: I’m fine with a best friend’s girl trope and a left at the alter beginning, but there is always a heavy lift there. Most of the time the best friend ends up being a really shitty friend and a really shitty fiancé and in this case both are true. I understand that this needs to happen to make the reader root for the new couple and not see the hero as an asshole who would betray his bestie and not make the heroine seem flighty and able to jump from fiancé to best friend so quickly. The author did not do a good job with this. First of all the fiancé/best friend Jackson was an irredeemable asshole. He was vain and shallow and petty and disrespectful to the FMC. He was not given ANY good qualities whatsoever and some of the book was dedicated to both of them tearing him down and commiserating over how awful he was (often times they did this after sex or while on a date, like so fun, let’s talk about a former lover in the afterglow 🤮). This all leads me to ask the FMC what the fuck were you doing marrying this guy in the first place? Do you have no personal standards? And to the MMC why were you friends with this man for so long and why were you his best man when you knew he was treating his fiancée terribly?
The author never addressed these questions and ended up making the FMC look very flighty and pretty stupid. A smart woman doesn’t stay with a guy like this, let alone marry him. It also made the MMC look like a doormat and a wimp because he never stood up to his dick of a best friend. I don’t know about you, but if a friend of mine is a shit pile of a person, I end the friendship no matter if I’ve known them since childhood. Ugh

4. Pacing of the relationship. The entire book took place within a month of the FMC’s ill fated wedding. A month for recovery, developing feelings (he was already in love but she thought he was cold and didn’t know him well), and then moving in together. It was way too quick. At one point at the beginning it looked like Owen was going to be patient and build a friendship with Asher. He had a plan to ‘be there’ for her during her recovery from her break up. This felt sweet to me. It gave me ‘aaawwe’ feelings. But it lasted all of ten seconds before he was figuring out how to make his move. He basically gave her a week to get over her break up before he started pursuing her. And she was totally on board and all over him. I like instalove, sometimes (that’s a lie, I hate it), but in this case it just made me wonder how long it would be before the FMC moved on from this guy to the next. If you can feel enough for someone to marry him and then two weeks later feel enough for someone else that you move in together, you are probably a pretty shallow person. Which leads me to my next issue:

5. The FMC. The only redeeming quality this woman had was that she was hot. She was a burlesque dancer *cough* fancy stripper *cough* and that was pretty much all we know of her. She’s a completely undeveloped character. I have no idea why Owen was in love with her other than she had a hot body and was delicate. She had no personality whatsoever and there was very little background on her. This sucked because the MMC was a well developed character, he had a robust backstory and complicated history with his best friend. His family was well developed and we met all of them and were showed the dynamic within them. Though we did meet the FMC’s mother, and she was wacky, we didn’t get very deep into any of her life. So we had this great hero in Owen, and this nothing, bland but pretty, heroine in Asher. So why did he love her so much? Why did he spend years yearning for her? I certainly have no idea.

6. The plot and main reason why this was a dog’s breakfast. This plot kept changing. At first it was a slow burn, best friend’s fiancé love story, then all of a sudden it was a steamy instalove, then it was a quirky romcom with wacky side characters, then the author threw in a dog rescue and rehabilitation, AND THEN at the 85% point a creepy stalker character is introduced… with less than 50 pages to go. This stalker plot line leads to an attack and the attempted sexual assault of the heroine and a rescue by the hero - ALL IN THE LAST CHAPTER! Why?! What was the point of throwing this bullshit into a romcom? Yes the initial plot was very thin and light on conflict, so did the author throw this in as a Hail Mary? It made no sense to the rest of the story and was jarring. Now this very light read turns into something that needs trigger warnings. But then it was all resolved and everyone was just peachy in less than two pages. Wtf? Jessica, what the hell were you thinking with this?

I’ve never read this author before so I have no idea if she is capable of writing a linear, well paced, engaging book or if this is her ‘style’, but to me it read like a debut novel from someone who had yet to learn pacing and basic story planning (and also spelling). Overall this was a disaster. A dog’s breakfast; a mess of ingredients that don’t go well together or make any sense.

Well written.
Girl posse.
Some humour.
Cute shy Hero who is not confident with the ladies and is a vet, so good with animals and his young neice.

The premise is 2 men, who grew up together, though one isn't so nice a person, see a woman at a bar, the heroine.
The Hero likes her but is working up the courage to ask her out when his not so nice friend does.
The woman ends up getting engaged to his friend and the book starts with her being dumped on her wedding day.

I couldn't quite work out why she was with the friend, marrying him, that didn't add up to me.

No intimate scenes other than the Hero and heroine.
No other woman drama.
Other man drama, ex wants back together and the history of her being with his bf.

HEA.

Quick thoughts

This was actually pretty ok, I usually don't like the h's to move on so quickly but it's clear the ex is an asshole.
The mcs were ok together and I loved the dogs
His big secret was really.... Dumb?! Idk it just didn't seem like such a big deal to make him keep a shit friend in his life out of loyalty 🤷🏽‍♀️

I easily plowed my way through Stunner by Jessica Prince. The opening scene alone will hook you as we find Asher in a state in a biker bar after being jilted at the altar. What ensues is an entertaining read that I didn't put down until I hit the end.

Owen is the hot tatted vet that I didn't know I wanted and by the end of the book I was completely in love with him. The moments between Asher and Owen were sweet and I along with some entertaining side characters were salivating for these two to get together.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and look forward to the next one.

Asher and Owen gave me a story that I didn’t even know I needed, but I’m SO glad I received! She’s newly single, he’s the guy who’s glared at her for over a year (and a half, but who’s counting?). He’s the guy who wants the girl and HAS since the first glimpse, but another beat him to her. And as the story unfolds and the truths come out, you’ll hope for more than just a few facial modifications for a certain moron.

Asher and Owen have some drama swirling around them, but they also have an attraction that neither is trying too hard to hide anymore. After all, Asher is single and Owen still wants a chance. But he almost messes up. Big. Luckily for him, Asher has decided (with some coaching from friends) that communication is key and this big hot jerk of a man isn’t going to simply brush her off. And that, folks, is exactly the catalyst that Owen needs to quit spinning his wheels. That and a makeover by Hazel. And I’m sure we’ll be seeing more if her soon also, so enjoy getting to know her here. The only problem left is to wonder what’s going on with someone who seems to like Asher a bit more now, or maybe it’s just because now she’s unattainable. Either way, man’s best friends are never wrong and they prove that the stinkiest southbound end of a northbound dog is worth it if they’re also your biggest fans/protectors.

Don’t worry though. All works out as it should and I hope to also see the men of the bar again. Maybe Hardin will make her way there with Asher in the future? Because they gave a distinct murderous teddy bear vibe that hooked me from the first page and kept me enthralled long enough for Owen to figure out where his wayward Asher went. Enjoy this one. You’ll find the humor, the love, a little angst, and some great friendships along the way.

Omg this book was swoon!!!! Owen was so charming & his words were just the most swoony that I couldn’t get enough of him. The hot tattoo vet had me loving him from the beginning. Asher being walked out on her wedding day was such a blessing, especially when she gets Owen in the end. The chemistry was oh so hot & was just oozing off these pages. I completely enjoyed the fun of their banter, their fun relationship it was beautifully written. I just couldn’t stop reading & was ready for it to end.
I highly recommend this book. Told in dual POV.

Pretty good read, Asher and Owen are great together! Owen is a doll with his niece, Ashers’ interactions with her mother are downright hilarious and so are Owen’s with his sister and parents. Overall a pretty good, funny, romance.

Asher and Owen

Cute story of a jilted bride who then ends up with her ex-fiance's friend/best man. The only thing I was sad about was that we didn't get to read more about the rough bike bar and the protective bikers who were introduced at the beginning of the book.

This was a fun and cute story with a little angst, a little drama and a whole lot of sexiness. Owen has all the charm and swoon. He is very protective over the ones he cares about. Asher is a jilted bride but is better off without that grade A prick. She’s sweet and caring and everything Owen wants.

Jessica weaves a easy read that will give you all the fluff and laughs for a good romance. The characters are likeable and the story was enjoyable. It’s a great edition to the Whiskey Dolls series and I can’t wait for more.

Great read

Fun, flirty times ahead! Jessica delivers a swoon worthy read. Alpha male who’s finally got his chance to get the girl he’s secretly been in love with.

A quick read, predictable but still entertaining. Heat factor is off the charts. The characters are likeable and engaging. The female lead is relatable, she’s fun and down to earth.

It’s a yes from me!

This book was just okay. When the book kicks off, Asher is getting drunk at a bar after being jilted on her wedding day. As the book progresses, Asher is written as a strong-willed, grounded, likable heroine. So I was really left wondering how she ended up engaged to an ass like her ex-fiancee Jackson and that is never really explained. Sure, there's some inner-monologue stuff about how she thought she was making a mistake at the time, but then why did she stay with him? Or date him in the first place? It just didn't make sense to me. As for Owen, he's fine. Swoony, tatted-up, good with puppies. Who wouldn't like this guy? My primary issue, though, was with plot pacing. There's a lot of saccharine stuff with cute nieces, family pranks, etc. Then all of a sudden, within the last 50 pages or something, there's a stalker plotline. Which would have been waaaaaay more interesting than the run-of-the-mill family hijinks. Plus Asher is brutally attacked but within 24 hours she's all "I'm good." I realize you don't read these novels for gritty realism, but that didn't ring remotely true for me.

This fast-paced story had my attention from the beginning.  After being dumped on her wedding day, Asher winds up in a biker bar. I knew at this moment that Asher was going to be a character that I would love.  Owen, the tattooed vet and best friend of the man that left her at the alter shows up to make sure she is ok.  Drunk and with nowhere to go, Owen takes Asher to his place.  We soon find out that Owen isn’t the grumpy friend who doesn’t like Asher.  He’s the guy that wanted Asher from the first time he saw her, but someone got to her first.

The book was swoony, funny, and spicy. What started as a slow building relationship starting with friendship, quickly moved forward at around 60%....then again it was a year and a half relationship in the making (at least for Owen).  Let’s talk about Owen, he’s a total sweetheart but can equally give off the protective vibes when necessary. From his love of animals, his hilarious relationship with his feisty sister, his adoration for his niece, and the way he treated Asher…..talk about SWOON!

I loved how the two communicated and got to know each other.  They faced drama along the way but not from each other.  I highly recommend this book.  There are lots of laughs, a little drama, one tense moment, and plenty of chemistry and spice to keep the pages turning.

This is the 3rd book in the Whiskey Dolls series, characters from the previous books do have an appearance but this can be read as a complete standalone.  I do think this may be my favorite from the series so far, well at least until the next book.  After the hint of what’s to come, I can’t wait.

Asher's just been left at the altar and now finds herself cozied up to the bar at a very rough biker dive. She's Asher, though, so it means she's made friends of the rough around the edges men who populate the bar. Then a very unlikely guy bursts in, intent on rescuing her and taking her out of there. Owen is the last person she'd ever think would come check on her after she got dumped by his best friend. The entire time she and Jackson dated, Owen made it clear he didn't like her, didn't think she was good enough for his friend. So why's he here, wanting to rescue her from men who have taken an instant liking to her?

Little did Asher know, but Owen felt the opposite of dislike for her all this time. Now that she's single, will he take his shot? Finally tell her how he really feels, has always felt? Or will he let Jackson get into his head again, and fall back into his old insecurities and break Asher's (and his own) heart?

A hot, tatted up veterinarian who isn't a playboy. A sweet, sassy dancer. A wealth of misunderstandings and miscommunication lay between them. Now they're finally on the same page and seeing each other without the filters they've placed on themselves. So much crazy chemistry. And finally, lots and lots of love. I adored these two together, them and their dogs, surrounded by her friends and his family, Stunner is another sexy, sweet romance in the Whiskey Dolls universe. I've been loving this series and Asher and Owen just made it even better.

Jessica prince is like KA only BETTER and without the exhaustive clothing and makeup descriptions and really dumb conversations. In short, she writes good romance and alpha males in a format that won’t make you want to throw your kindle across the room!

What I liked about this one, I’ll be honest, was the tattooed hero who was also a veterinarian! The dogs were cute; the kids were cute and the couple didn’t do a bunch of stupid games. The romance was kind of insta love but I forgive it in this instance since they technically did know each other for a while. I have really enjoyed the whiskey dolls series and I can’t wait to see who’s next!

Absolutely incredible! Asher and Owens story was a story that everyone needs in their life! Asher is very newly single, drinking her feelings at a bar, one that I hope we see again in the future! Her ex fiance's best friend comes to her rescue.
I loved seeing Asher and Owens relationship progress from her thinking he hated her to absolutely In love.
There was some drama that happened with both the ex fiance and someone else. They made it through the drama as a couple who were absolutely meant to be together.
I'm loving the whiskey dolls series. I'm really excited for more in this book. I can't wait to see if Hardin gets a book.
I recieved an arc for my opinion

What a story!! Asher was left at the altar by a coward and surprise surprise his best friend came to her rescue. What Asher wasn’t aware of was that Owen had always been attracted to her. He helped her out as much as possible and they danced around so much until they finally confessed their feelings. But then the delusional ex showed up trying to wreak havoc. Then an added twist to the story and it was like omg they can’t a break. There was some very funny moments and some moments that you wanted to strangle someone hit it was a great read. I hope Owen’s sister gets her own story.

Goh I have mixed feelings..
If there was a better communication it all could have been avoided. That she didn't know what a man her fiance was that's a bit weird. To me it was clear he wasn't a nice man at all.

I loved the meeting in the bikers bar, but I would have loved of there was a bit of closure in their like did she go to the tournament or not? Because I definitly would have loved to see that.

Otherwise it was fun, but not mind blowing..

I always get excited when I see a new book by this author. She is one of my favorites for a reason. I was excited for Asher and Owen to tell their story. In many ways, this hit all my favorite things about why I love how this author depicts small close-knit communities and their friendships. I loved the interactions between Owen and his niece as well as his sister. I even enjoyed Asher with her friends. Yet, something was off with this story that made it so that this story wasn't my favorite.

The story started great. I loved getting to have a birdseye view of how life was and how things progressed. I would have liked it even more if it didn't change the trajectory and add a whole new plot twist and direction so close to the end. It made the ending feel rushed and abrupt. I felt that the additional story and what happened to Asher needed more depth. It just felt out of place and the story had reached the maximum amount of pages that the author wanted and therefore was just done.

Still, even with these issues, I am rounding up from 3.5 to 4 stars because I did enjoy the characters and getting to reminisce with old favorites. Even though this is not my favorite, I am still a huge fan of this author and her hard work in creating characters and books that I become invested in.

I absolutely adored Owen and Asher’s story. Owen has the tattooed bad boy looks; his actions scream swoony small town hero; add in a whole bunch of alpha hotness sprinkled on every page; basically, he’s got every element of what we all love in our book boyfriends. He gets bonus points for being a vet because, seriously, all that and he loves animals. This man is practically a gift from the book boyfriend gods, better known as authors.

Asher is as sassy as the other women that work at Whiskey Dolls, which is one of my favorite things about the heroines in Prince’s stories. Each and every one of them is independent. None are looking for a white knight to save them, not even when their world is crumbling below their feet. Although that wasn’t the case with Asher, her ex did her a favor by not going through with the wedding. She wasn’t broken by that, and instead was able to form a relationship with the person she was always meant to be with.

Owen was the best man, but he and Jackson were as different as night and day. Owen had dreams and aspirations that he worked hard to achieve. He had his reasons for sticking beside the man who had been his childhood best friend, but the moment he slipped out of the wedding, he took the last eff Owen had to give with him. With a little nudge from his sister, he decided it was time to pursue the woman who was always meant for him. Owen was loyal to his core, but the moment Jackson took the cowardly way out of marrying Asher, Owen’s loyalty to him came to an end. He was the perfect blend of possessive alpha and swoony small-town charm.

Owen and Asher’s connection could be felt the moment he walked into the bar she was at, but that was only a small taste of what was to come between these two. It was more than a physical connection they shared; it was in the way they read one another’s emotions with no words being spoken. They just got one another on a fundamental level. As the dynamic changed between them and they grew closer, their connection ignited the all-consuming passion that had been building from the moment they met.

This story was light on emotions. Not that it didn’t bring emotions out of me, because it did. It just wasn’t laced with heavy tear-inducing emotions. It was mostly witty banter, swoony charm, and uber-hot steam. It was the perfect read for being able to get lost inside a fictional world for a few hours, which allowed you to close the book feeling a bit lighter than when you opened it.

Stunner is an unputdownable combination of intoxicating chemistry, a swoony alpha hero, a sassy heroine, a tension-filled explosive slow burn, light on feels, teeming with clever banter, and set inside a world that never ceases to make you feel like the characters are so much more than fiction.

The only reason I gave this 4 stars and not 5 was because of what I feel is an overuse of pet names that seems to be something that happens more frequently. Honest, baby, sweetheart, all of which are used for the same person, in the same conversation. It’s become irksome and I find myself getting annoyed as it has a tendency to pull me from the story and the worlds I love so much.

Being left at the altar is a less than ideal situation, but Asher Rose is handling it just fine. You might even say that she's completely relieved to not be married to her spineless ex-fiancé... well, she will be once she gets past their wedding day...

Owen Shields may have been "best man" to the wedding that didn't happen, but he has never gotten over the idea of Asher marrying another man. So when the bride splits from the ceremony... Owen is the first to volunteer to find her...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Stunner was another delightfully sexy, entertaining, and incredibly fun read, from the always amazing Whiskey Dolls series! Asher and Owen never got along when she was with dating his oldest friend, but with Asher's recently single status, the pairs true feelings for each other are all but simmering near the surface...
This book was such a fabulous and engaging read! Asher and Owen's frosty history encounters a serious thaw in the midst of their previous apathy, turned into an unlikely friendship... and then of course, sparks fly!
I loved Asher and her abrupt realization that her ex-fiancé did not deserve her. She didn't waste any time pining or thinking she did something wrong... and she had her crazy group of Whiskey Doll friends cheering her on all the way...
Owen may technically be friends with the groom, but it's been years since he's actually found the dude in any way likable. And even though the sexy veterinarian had wanted Asher for years, he never got in the way of his buddy's relationship.
This story was super sexy, funny, and completely endearing. The relationship between Asher and Owen was seamless and sweet, but it was the dogs that stole the show! I also loved the dynamic between both of the main character families. They all shared great relationships which were celebrated and so easy to enjoy on the characters behalf.
I loved this book and the series SO MUCH and all I can say is... more Whiskey Dolls, please!
I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.
Love the Whiskey Dolls
I really love that the author gave us the Whiskey Dolls series. I fell in love with this world when read Gypsy’s story in the Hope Valley series, which is not required to read before this series. It’s very good though, so I recommend circling around to it if you have not read it.
This time we get Owen and Asher’s story. Owen has secretly loved Asher for almost 2 years. Before he could bring himself to ask her out the night he first saw her, his best frenemy Jackson jumped in. He spent that entire time watching them together and even agreed to be the best man at their wedding. When Jackson literally leaves her at the altar, it’s Owen that runs to find her after she bolts. All this time she thought he hated her, but finds she was completely wrong about him. He’s the perfect combination of protective and swoony and 🔥🔥.
I love these two together. Owen is the hot tattooed town Vet, but still feels like the nerdy uncool kid on the inside at times. That’s why he hesitated to ask her out first. Asher finds she really wasn’t all that sad about her failed wedding, and realizes they have way more in common than she thought. It’s a fast burn, all in pretty quick, although they aren’t exactly strangers so it’s not unbelievable. And Owen has loved her from afar for a long time. Jackson is your basic dbag entitled rich kid, and I’m glad he didn’t get to cause much drama for these two. I would have liked to see more of the Whiskey Girls club in this, as it’s what connects these lovely ladies. Plus it sounds amazing, and I wish I was there in real life. Overall another YES! from me, and I look forward to seeing Hardin’s story as she seemed like a great person to know.
Asher and Owen
Asher and Owen were everything I’ve come to expect from a couple written by Jessica Prince. They definitely had some bridges to cross and hurdles to jump, but once they became a couple, they never looked back.
Asher was left at the alter, and it was the best thing that could’ve happened to her. Her ex-fiancé was terrible. The more that came out about him as the book went on, the worse he looked, but that’s okay, because Owen was perfect for Asher. He thought he’d missed his chance with Asher when his best friend acted before he could and stole his ideal woman right from under his nose, but when the opportunity to right that wrong presents itself, Owen is determined not to let her slip away again.
Owen was definitely a cinnamon roll hero. He was the town vet with a heart of gold and a soft spot for his sister and his niece. Despite his outside appearance, he was a little when it came to women and that made him even more endearing. He had some major insecurities and a false sense of loyalty to his (now) former best friend, and when the reason for that loyalty comes out I’m glad it didn’t affect his relationship with Asher. He was the best kind of man and perfect for Asher.
While I don’t usually like the ex’s best friend trope, this one didn’t really feel like any kind of betrayal on Owen’s part because of how terrible Jackson was. I loved both Owen’s and Asher’s families. They brought some pretty comical moments to the story. I also liked Asher’s relationship with the Whisky Dolls and how easily she enveloped Hardin into the fold. I’m excited to see where her story will take this series next!
This was an awesome story featuring Asher who we have met in other books in the series and it's her second chance romance, runaway bride romance with her exes best friend.
It has HOT scenes, is full of romance and has two adorable dogs that save the day. There is some angst and some drama and even some suspense. Plus, some new characters I really loved.
In this story we get to know Asher. She is a sweetheart, maybe a bit too sweet, kind and giving. She is also an awesome dancer and thats how she fits into this story as she is a dancer at the nightclub Whiskey Dolls. We meet her as she is pulling a runaway bride when her fiancée runs away and crawls thru a bathroom at her wedding's venue.
And that's when she ends up running into her ex's best friend, Owen who she always thought hated her. Owen sees his chance and decides they need to become friends and he hopes this will get her to finally see him.
One of the biggest themes in this story is to not judge a book by its cover. Owen seems like this hot, tattooed guy who is a veterinarian but inside he is a huge nerd and doesn't really see that he is HOT and wonderful guy!
This was a really fun story and I really enjoyed watching Asher fall for her nerd and I adored the two dog heroes in this story. If you love runaway brides, second chances and falling in love then you will love Stunner!
I received a complimentary early release e-book prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.
***5 Stars***
This was a fun read and another great addition to the Whiskey Doll series & Hope Valley world at large. The angst was low, the sweet and swoon worthy was high and there was just enough outside shenanigans and drama to keep things interesting as I got to know Asher and Owen and watch as they fell hard for each other.
I adored Asher and Owen. Asher is all kinds of feisty. Sweet and sassy, she has a huge heart and it was hard not to like her. Owen is a sweetheart. Protective and caring. He’s a pretty laid back guy, a little grumpy, but when he considers you one of his, there isn’t anything he won’t do to ensure their happiness.
The journey to their HEA was a lot of fun. Their chemistry was intense from the start, their bantering was a lot fun and their chemistry was HAWT. They do have a few bumps in the road to deal with before they get their HEA, but I really liked how everything worked out for them in the end.
As I already said, this was a great read. While the majority of the book was low on angst and drama, there are a trigger or two in there that could make some readers uncomfortable. But other than that, I loved catching up with the Whiskey Dolls ~ Sloane was awesome! ~ and Owen’s family was awesome all around and I gotta say that I am totally looking for Hardin’s book considering what was stated in the epilogue.
I knew that this book is going to be humourous just after reading a few pages of it. Asher's situation as a jilted bride should feel angsty and intense but nope, Jessica Prince wrote it in a hilarious and cute style with all those big bad bikers. I have a smile on my face while I'm reading through it. And da**, she still got me hooked by her heros every time because Owen is soooooo swoon-worthy!
Asher and Owen's love story is quite forbidden because Owen is a friend of Asher's ex but I don't feel like it. After Asher's disastrous wedding, they have a chance to get to know each other and I have to say that Asher deserves better than her ex and Owen is and will always be her person. They have a chemistry and it is scorchingly hot (fan my face.)
Aside from their love story, Jessica Prince also gave us a little bit of mystery to solve just to spice the story and make it more intriguing. It may easily be predictable but I'm still impressed.
At the end, this book still has all Jessica Prince's charms... funny, steamy, and exciting. I might think that Asher is a little careless but I still enjoy reading this book like all of her books I read so it's easy for me to give the book 5 stars ;)
Stunner by Jessica Prince is the 3rd book of her Whiskey Dolls Series...
... and be prepared to SWOON! 🥰😍
Asher never thought she'd end up in a biker bar on her wedding day. But Jackson - her now ex-fiancée - had other plans and left her. So here she is: drinking with some bikers... and then there's Owen...
Asher and Owen.
Be still my beating heart!
Their story is sooooo awwwwwwwww!
I absolutely couldn't stop swooning!
When you read books of Jessica Prince you just know that there's always this perfect combination of romance, attraction, emotions, drama and suspense.
So of course Stunner isn't an exception!
The chemistry between the main characters is sooooo good! Gah! I got goose bumps everywhere!
Aaand their story is soooo lovely! I'm such a fan of this special kind romance but I can’t tell you more about it because I don't want to spoil it for you.
So you see: the struggle is real! LOL
What's even not to love about a hot veterinarian with tattoos?
Owen is the perfect gentleman but of course he makes mistakes too.
No ones absolutely perfect - but Asher and Owen are perfect for each other!
I won't say more about it!
Just read their story and fall in love as well!
I definitely did and can't wait for more!
HELLO OWEN SHIELDS! Asher Rose might have just put through the ringer, but I would be more than happy to if it brought me closer to a man like Owen Shields- talk about SWOON ALERT! This guy is pretty much the epidemy of my perfect guy- super hot but doesn't realize just how much, a freaking veterinarian, a loving brother and uncle, and just the right amount of sweet and gruff. Seriously, where can I find one of these? Asher is pretty awesome as well, but I have to say that Owen definitely stole the show here. I dare you to read this book and not enjoy seeing how everything plays out between these two, the chemistry is STRONG with these two.
All in all this book is freaking amazing, I loved seeing the connection, swooning over Owen, and wanting to be BFFs with Asher and her friends. I cannot recommend this book (or series) enough, check it out! I always enjoy reading Jessica Prince because it is full of steam and heart and just darn good stories, Stunner definitely fits the bill and gets 5 stars from me! Can't wait to see what is next....
PS: Thank you to Jessica Prince and Love Affair With Fiction for allowing me an advanced copy of the book to read and review honestly!
Wow Just wow , where do I even find the right words to express all the reasons you absolutely need to read this amazing series !!!’ Not really sure there are any as it’s really something you need to experience for yourself by simply picking it up and reading. What I can say is that there are very few authors and series I come across that hold my attention and make me feel as many wonderful and crazy emotions as Jessica’s book do . She truly is a queen when it comes to writing well all tropes in romance . Small town , grumpy hero , enemies to lovers Stunner is the perfect blend of all three , it’s everything a great romance should be , intriguing, steamy, heartfelt, heartbreaking, emotionally charged , filled with angst , witty banter , humor , family , friendships, unexpected surprises, wonderfully written characters that are so unique, so likable and relatable as well as very multi layered. Asher and Owens journey is definitely one that will grab onto all your emotions so tightly and pull at tout heartstrings in ways you definitely will not be expecting. So prepare yourself for all the feels and a very late.night of reading !! 💜💜
My expectations of fictional men are wholly based on Jessica Prince and her characters. Stunner is the third book in the Whiskey Dolls series and can be read in either series order or as a standalone.
This book is freaking stupendous! Asher and Owen is a story that all readers will want to consume, and not just because of the spicy bits (though there are plenty). When Asher is at an all time low thanks to her non wedding, who comes to her rescue? That’s right, the hot, tatted vet who also happens to be her ex’s best friend and the best man at said wedding. There’s irony in that for sure. -Giggle-
Reading Asher and Owen’s story and how one moment Asher thinks Owen hates her, to the next when he clearly cares for her was so thrilling. There is of course a little drama on both sides, but as any good romance, they make their way through it. It has it all, grumpy giants, tatted vets, swoon worthy romance moments, and so much spice. Always though, the characters are what make the book the most worth it. Way to go JP for another lovely book!
