State-of-the-art Production Sound
If you're a professional production sound mixer, Sweetwater is about to make your gig a lot easier. Enter Scorpio: Sound Devices' flagship 32-channel, 36-track portable mixer-recorder designed for state-of-the-art production sound. You've got a tough job, and Sound Devices gets it. With Scorpio and its built-in Bluetooth wireless, cabling requirements are significantly decreased, decluttering your gear bag, increasing reliability, and vastly improving ease of use. And you can also say goodbye to concerns about battery life, power loss, and file corruption.
Equipped with 16 mic/line preamplifiers, 32 channels of Dante I/O, AES in and out, 12 analog outputs, and multiple headphone outs, Scorpio is ideally suited to any production scenario. A fully customizable routing matrix lets you effortlessly send any input to any channel, output, or bus; and up to 12 buses may be individually mixed. Thanks to its compact form factor, Scorpio is happy whether slung over your shoulder or in a mobile rig. Sound Devices Scorpio ushers in a new era of production sound.

The cutting-edge tech you need for big productions
Scorpio benefits from Sound Devices’ latest cutting-edge technology. Its ultra-powerful processing engine, comprised of three FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) circuits and six ARM (Advanced RISC Machine) processors, delivers the horsepower you need for even the most complex field recording. FPGA-based audio processing with 64-bit data paths ensures the highest sound quality and reliability. Scorpio also gives you Sound Devices’ latest analog mic/line preamp design, which delivers the best sonics and lowest noise of any preamp in the company’s history. Also onboard are phantom power, analog limiters, highpass filters, 3-band EQ, and delay.
Data redundancy with SSD plus dual SD cards
Whether you're on location or on a studio lot, capturing production sound is a one-shot deal: you don't get a second chance. With Scorpio, you'll never miss a word of dialog. Scorpio's internal SSD and the ability to simultaneously record to two SD cards for redundancy means that lost data due to file corruption is a thing of the past. For flexibility, you can send different files to your choice of media. And the SD-Remote Android companion app lets you control Scorpio via a larger display, so you can always stay on top of it, even on a dark set.
Advanced menus, battery, and timecode features
For over two decades, Sound Devices gear has been used to capture production sound on the sets of award-winning feature films, television shows, and documentaries. Sound Devices knows what production sound mixers need, and they applied their vast expertise to every aspect of Scorpio’s design. Frequently used menus are accessible with only one or two button presses, and many menu shortcuts can be accomplished with just one hand. Scorpio features an onboard dual L-Mount battery charger and may be powered with L-Mount batteries or via its TA4 DC inputs using smart batteries, NP-1 batteries, or in-line power supplies. The full-featured, ultra-accurate timecode generator even has its own battery to retain timecode for up to four hours after power off.
