I replaced my 24-70mm Zeiss for this and am very happy with it. It is heavier, larger, than the 24-70 but that is to be expected. I have 5 Sony FE lenses and this one is on my camera the most due to it's versatility and quality. I am no pro but am an avid hobbyist who uses Lightroom for post. The images I've gotten with this lens appear to be quite sharp across the frame at almost all focal lengths and maybe getting a little soft at the corners at 24mm. Overall, though, I find this lens to be better than the 24-70 but not by much. The 24-70 Zeiss lens is also very good and substantially less expensive but the extra zoom and IQ of this 24-105 makes it worth it to me. Highly recommended!

Great all around lens

After using the lens for a month and shooting in a range of lighting conditions I am overall very pleased with this zoom. The lens features excellent contrast and sharpness, and is light and easy to handle. The zoom ring feels great and does not creep like other zooms I have bought in the past. The addition of the AF/MF and OSS switches on the lens are a welcomed feature that I hope Sony continues in future lenses. If you are on the fence about buying this lens over some of the cheaper alternatives, I would recommend going for it. You will most likely be just as pleased as I am.

Very Happy With Purchase

I Purchased this lens to go with my new A7III.  Focusing is very fast.  Pictures come out clear, sharp and easily to post process.  This lens is absolutely amazing

Fast and Clear and Sharp Corner to Corner

The Sony FE 24-105 f4 G Lerns is the perfect companion for my Sony a7r iv.  Excellent focal range.  And when needed, a higher ISO eliminates the need for an aperture wider than F4.  For travel or street photography, it's the only lens you need.

Sony FE 24-105 F4 G Perfect Travel Lens

I had a kit lens and upgraded to the SEL24105G OSS.  What a difference in clarity, sharpness, and just a great range for carry around daily.  Took it to Grand Canyon and Arches National Park this spring.  I could not be more pleased with the performance.  Weight is good, zoom is smooth and with just enough resistance, and manual focus is spot on!

Excellent Travel lens

As professional wedding photographers we are always looking for the the best optics for our cameras and this is by far the best lens, within this price range, that you will ever find. It is SHARP, it has a great color rendition, an amazing autofocus, it's super versatile, light, oh, did I say SHARP? It is just awesome.

The best lens, period!

Recent trip to the big island of Hawaii was a thrill for me using this wonderful lens.  The shot of Akaka Falls was one of my favorites.

Best walk around lens I have every owned.

I hesitated buying this lens, considering instead a fixed prime lens. Also reviews stated problems with an earlier release of it. In addition, it as unavailable for several months. While peer pressure pushes to a prime lens, the focal lengths of 24-105 full frame are perfect for my current needs.  I bought in at the same time as the new Sony A78iii, also back-ordered for some time.  I have both now, and am making great images with it.  Both attached taken in 2nd week owning camera and lens.

Outstanding versatile lens.

I shoot a lot in back country - skiing, biking etc. - and the size and weight of this lens together with the a7RIII is just perfect. The quality is excellent aswell. This setuo is going to be my favorite light weight setup for shooting in remote locations.

Love this lens. Period.

If you are considering buying this lens, think again. Many people have had problems with
the auto focus dying. Now this happened to me. The lens is useless for my needs.
