Silhouette Kindle Edition

4.6 4.6 out of 5 stars 176 ratings

Dr. Molly Fawn’s life is surprisingly normal, considering that she spends her days running support for a man who can fly and lift city buses with one hand. But when Molly interrupts the Silhouette — the city’s most notorious thief — in a middle of a job, everything gets a bit more exciting.
Suddenly, Molly sees the thief everywhere, and those leather clad curves and wicked smiles are all she can think about.
The Silhouette seems determined to lure the mild-mannered Dr. Fawn out of her shell like taking a gem from a vault, but will Molly have the courage to let the beautiful thief have a shot at stealing her heart?

Silhouette is a standalone F/F romance set in a fictional Midwestern city with superpowered heroes, villains, and the sidekicks who love them.

Well that was fun and totally worth the price of admission!

"Silhouette" struck the perfect balance of super hero adventure and crackling with chemistry romance. Rather than a read, this more played like a movie and I couldn't help thinking this would make a great summer blockbuster.

Robin Hale managed to pull of a feat that Hollywood struggles with: a super hero tale that stars women, is actually enjoyable, and would make me cheer at the screen. This has a twist, however, in that the story revolves around Dr. Molly Fawn, the adorkable sidekick of a super hero, and Silhoutte, the villain she falls for. I loved both characters.

The pacing was on point. The romance was all based on tantalizing and delicious interactions. There was a humorous element that wasn't laugh out loud funny but the dialogue, situations, and inner thoughts were fantastic and gave me a lot of amused "heh" moments. The quality of writing was high and there were many passages I highlighted because they were so well written.

There's a titch of insta-love but, eh, whatever. The story was so good I didn't care.

The ages of the leads are a bit of a mystery but I placed them somewhere in their late 30s or possibly early 40s. The ethnicity of Dr. Molly Fawn was also a question mark but I took her to be non-white and either Hispanic or black. She's also bisexual and has a little meat to her.

Overall, this is just a really well done, grand of a time, fun read. 4.55 stars

I can't think of a single thing I didn't like. This may be the most entertaining book that I have read so far this year. Thanks to everyone else for reading it before me and singing its praises!

I didn't even read the blurb for this before I started reading. So imagine my surprise when it throws you right into the thick of things with humans that have special powers. I never thought I would be into a superhero/comic book-like story, but I suppose there is a first for everything!

Dr. Molly Fawn works in a research lab in Opal City who is also the comm link (and brains) behind Colossal, a superhero that the city calls upon for emergencies. Molly finds herself captured (in more ways than one as you could have probably guessed) by Silhouette, the nefarious master thief.

There was fun banter between Molly and Silhouette. Definitely a lot of attraction. I was rooting for these two despite overwhelmingly bad odds. I mean, how can someone working in tandem with the OCPD possibly be into a thief? Answer: The thief is mostly clad in tight leathers, rides a motorcycle, and is distressingly seductive.

This had everything. Action, comedy, romance, suspense, etc. And I can't believe that this is a debut offering from this author? There were literally scenarios that were too good for an amateur or first time writer. Stuff that just got me really excited and thinking "How clever?"

So clearly I recommend.

I appreciate the thought that an author would create a superhero lesbian fiction book, goodness knows I want them. This book is okay, good even, not bad. Written well with likeable characters doesn't make this book a must read however. The part I found 'troubling' was how this book kind of drags on and on. This story is interesting, but because each character's paragraphs drag on with unnecessary information it took me so long to finish this book. I lost interest and for a mega comic book geek like me that is very disappointing. Perhaps this book would be suited more to be a better comic book than novel.

It's a story with an unusual background: an american mid-west imaginary city where there's a constant battle between superheroes and supervillains.
One of the two main characters is the Silhouette, a genius of theft, a sort of Catwoman, velvety and sexy in her movements as well as in her speech.
The other one is Dr. Molly Fawn, sweet and genial scientist at the service of Captain Colossus, the city best beloved super-hero against all crimes.
Now, don't be deceived. 10% of the book is the comic superheroes environment, 10% is action and the rest is pure romance.
The story is simple, but it's very elegant, sexy, humoristic, a pleasure to read. Glamour with nice touches of adventure. And I found it to be also delicate, as the author made me totally fall in love with both of the characters and understand their feelings.
This is not one of those books where you can't understand why a character behaves in a certain way or dislike what they do. You'll love the super thief that totally lose her self-confidence for love and the timid scientist who has to decide new ways to manage her loyalty.
It's a 2018 book, but if you haven't already read it I suggest you catch it up!

The headline says it all. Well, not all, but it's a huge plus for me. Molly is lovely in a relatable, nerdy sort of way (and so very my type) and our titular Silhouette feels like she's been ripped right from the pages of your favorite comic. All lithe and confident and *fans self*. This isn't my usual genre, but between the rich plot, steamy action, and fantastic stable of characters, I would recommend. Love the setting and hoping for an Izzy story in the near future.

The chemistry between the cast is electric and the leads complicate each others lives in an adorable way. The super heroics are light and breezy, the history of the characters implies a longer continuity around them but in a way that is easy to follow.

A really great read :)
