    Awesome for butterfly photography
Using this big heavy 135mm f1.8 prime lens on a crop sensor 90D (@ 216mm effective focal length).Awesome clarity. Excellent build. Crazy shallow DOF if you open it up.Works great for butterfly photography @ around f2.8 to f4.Definitely not a walk-around or multi-purpose lens but if you have a specialty application such as environmental portraits and you have adequate room to work, this lens is great !!Update: This lens also has interesting applications in product photography. Definitely recommended.

Outstanding lens. Laser sharp, excellent contrast & focuses quickly (hit rate was ~9 out of 10 using AFS with ambient indoor lighting and wide open - pretty good for an adapted lens) on the MC-11 on a Sony A7RII.

It's quite heavy, especially for a lens of this focal length. Hauling it around for a few hours will take it's toll, but you eventually acclimate to the heft - and the resulting images are worth it.

This is the new portrait lens for me. Pics are so sharp and clear without the need for editing. I love this lens, for the quality and well built. The downside is the weight, it is a little heavy to hold, but I don't mind as long as my shots are perfect. It's fast when autofocusing at any aperture; it's an expensive toy for sure, but worth every penny. I love it!!
