About the author
Vicky Jones was born in Essex, England. She is an author and singer-songwriter, with numerous examples of her work on iTunes and YouTube. At 20 years old she entered the Royal Navy. After leaving the Navy realizing she was drifting through life with no sense of direction, she wrote a bucket list of 300 things to achieve which took her traveling, facing her fears and going for her dreams. At the time of printing, she is two-thirds of the way through her bucket list.
One item on her list was to write a song for a cause. Her anti-bullying track called “House of Cards” is now on iTunes to download.
Writing a novel was on her bucket list, and through a chance writing competition at her local writing group, the idea for 'Meet Me at 10' was born. Vicky hopes she can change hearts and minds due to some of the gritty themes of the book.
Vicky is a keen traveler, stemming from her days traveling the world in the Royal Navy, and has visited around 50 countries so far. She has also graduated from The Open University after studying part time for her degree in psychology and criminology—another bucket list tick! She is currently writing a book about her bucket list adventures, entitled ‘Project Me, Project You’, alongside planning and writing more fiction books and book marketing guides for self-published authors.
She now lives in Cheshire, splitting her time between there and visiting her family and friends back in Essex.

A full length novel prequel introducing Shona. A girl running from her past. 1950 small town prejudices. Sticky subjects. Women,LGBDQ, poverty, race. Very well told. Lots of feels.
The narration was easy to understand and contributed to my enjoyment.

Shona is a fantastic character and it was wonderful to spend time with her again. Both her story – and that of the supporting characters – drive the plot forwards so that you constantly want to read ‘one more chapter’. This story has so much heart, yet the writers do not shy away from tackling some pretty strong subjects.
The writing is flawless and so evocative of 1950s America and I am in awe of the way this book is written as a complete narrative in itself, yet it gives away none of the secrets of the second book.
Absolutely loved it. Now, do I reread Meet Me at 10 or skip straight to The Beach House?
This is the prequel of Meet me at 10 but I read Shona first. I didn’t know it was a prequel until after I read it. My first thought was, the authors didn’t tell me enough about Shona’s background except to imply there was some horribleness that happened. But when I discovered it was prequel, I guess it made sense as Book 2 must have more detail about Shona’s background.
I did enjoy this book and would recommend it to people interested in drama.
I really liked the fact that the first few chapters of Meet Me at 10 were included at the end of the book so that those of us who have already read it can have a quick recap.
These ladies really know how to produce novels of the highest standard. Keep up the good work.
Anyway. Shona. What another amazing read for me, AND what an introduction for those who have yet to read any Claire Hackney & Vicky Jones stories. You, my friends, weave such exciting tales, characters with depth, and so much historical detail that it takes you along Shona`s journey as if you are right by her side.
Invest in the Trilogy. I promise you will not be disappointed.
