About this item

  • Magni 3 has the power, performance, resolution, and versatility to meet all your headphone needs.
  • Designed to have low distortion, an exceptionally low noise floor, and switchable gain. Magni’s gain stage is an-all-new, fully discrete, high-speed, DC-coupled, current-feedback design. This current-feedback gain stage is typically only found in very exotic designs that sell for more than 10x the Magni’s price.
  • With its built-in time-delayed start-up and instant shut-down, there’ll be no glitches or pops through either headphones or speakers.
  • Use Magni 3 with any headphone from IEMs to hard-to-drive planar designs. With a full 2000mW into 32 ohms, Magni has tremendous reserves of power. 115VAC, USA Plug.
  • Magni 3 includes preamp outputs so you can connect it to your desktop powered monitors for a complete system--or even connect it to a speaker power amp and use it as a preamp.

Product Description

Go ahead. Compare the third-generation Magni to anything out there at its price. We think you’ll find there’s really no competition. This is no “starter amp.” Magni 3 has the power, performance, resolution, and versatility to meet all your needs—no matter the headphone.

  • Ready For Any Headphone
Magni 3 is ready for any headphone, from IEMs to hard-to-drive planar designs. With a full 2000mW into 32 ohms—rated in the most honest way, RMS continuous, both channels driven—Magni has tremendous reserves of power. Combined with low distortion, an exceptionally low noise floor, and switchable gain, Magni is ready for any headphone.
  • Powered Monitors Welcome, Too
Magni 3 includes preamp outputs. This means you can connect it to your desktop powered monitors for a complete system—or even connect it to a speaker power amp and use it as a preamp. With its built-in time-delayed start-up and instant shut-down, there’ll be no glitches or pops through either headphones or speakers, either.
  • Compare at Many Times the Price
Most headphone amps in Magni’s price range use op-amps (integrated chips) for gain and power output. Not Magni. Magni’s gain stage is an-all-new, fully discrete, high-speed, dc-coupled, current-feedback design, completely different than the first and second-generation Magnis. This current-feedback gain stage is typically only found in very exotic designs that sell for more than 10x the Magni’s price.
  • Designed and Assembled in USA
The vast majority of the total production cost of Magni 3--chassis, boards, transformers, assembly, etc.--goes to US companies manufacturing in the US. Our chassis are made minutes from our facility. Our PCBs are done just over the hill from us, or done in NorCal. Yes, the wall-warts are made in China, but there's some give and take at this price point.
  • 2-Year Warranty
Magni is covered by a limited warranty that covers parts and labor for two years.

This amp really is the Schiit!!

This amp really is the Schiit!!
I blame Amazon for purchases LOL! Actually I started to play with Amazon Music HD, and was very impressed with the sound quality. But it quickly pointed out the weak links in my setup, namely the use of my new Apple Mac Mini's headphone jack output to my Klipsch Pro-Media 2.1 powered speakers. So having already done a lot of research about Schiit Audio products, I decided to put together a system with the Modi Multibit DAC, and the Magni-3 headphone amp. All I can say is WOW! I am outputting the audio from the Mac via USB to the Modi and then using a new high quality short RCA patch cable to the Modi. The Modi is a headphone amp that has a pre-amp output using two RCA connections. I purchased a short RCA male to female 3/8" stereo adapter to plug in the feed to the Klipsch powered speakers. With the headphones unplugged the volume controlled pre-amp outs are active. There was no specical drivers needed for the Mac. I did run in to an issue that anyone using this type of setup needs to be aware of. After connecting the system as mentioned I was receiving a LOT of static, and it didn't dawn on me what the issue was at first, but in a nut shell it was a ground loop issue. You MUST have the Schiit equipment, your powered speakers (or amp), and PC (Mac or Windows PC) plugged in to the same source for power. Once this was corrected it is perfectly quiet. I can't tell you how much better all music sounds with this setup, it is just amazing the depth and definition with all music, but man with the HD Amazon streams it is just incredible and this coming from a Apple Music fan (which might explain part of it LOL). This does also have another drawback, the last weak link is my headphones. So I had to remedy that with a new pair of Beyerdynamic DT990's which should sound awesome when they arrive. So in summary, if you are looking to really upgrade your PC based music, or looking for a really good headphone amp and DAC, and you don't want to break the bank, I can't recommend this combo enough (the Klipsch Pro-Media 2.1's are also awesome if you are looking for the best speakers for your PC, I have had mine since 2001 and they still sound amazing).
