Skye manages to spin a story so enthralling, my heart was in my mouth all the time. The pulsating danger was hiding on every page and by the end, the massive twist just pushed it out of my mouth and it plopped on the ground!
I was stunned. The unbelievable ending was a cherry on top. Even though it didn't go MY way, I still accepted it with teary eyes. Defying my expectations of Love being a weakness, it was actually the strength that amazed me.

"A woman who loves two men.
One cop.
One criminal.
Opposite sides of the same coin.
Love can be a weakness… "

It's love triangle unlike any I've read before. The scales of Hope Delayne are evenly balanced between the destroyer Gabriel DeLucca and protector Luke Sanchez. Her dilemma is the main character of the story. I could totally understand her swinging heart that couldn't decide. In this unusual scenario the heart is divided perfectly into three pieces and they couldn't survive without the love of each other.
They had been tied together since childhood.

description

" I’m the rule follower. Hope is the humanitarian. And Gabrial is the crime lord. Three people from the same place that all chose different paths. "

I'm not supposed to like this weird setting...but I did!!!
I was supposed to be frustrated with Hope's indecision...but I wasn't!!
It was supposed to go the predictable route... But It Didn't!!

description

"They’re like the angel and the demon and I’m the fucking weapon that can take them both down. Though aren’t most demons fallen angels?"

description

It was so fantastically written that I began rooting for all three!!
When did that happen?😮
My first book by skye and i was really impressed.
Go ahead and pick up this book and let your jaw hang open right till the very end!!
How and why did I love this book so much that made me cry? 🤷‍♀️

Woowee this book was intense! I really love love triangles but at the same time I hate them because the triangle has to end and one man is picked on the end. Let me tell you, the author made it hard for me to love one guy more. I wanted them all to just end in a HEA together. Gabriel is the criminal, who had a heart of gold and honestly I loved him so much. Then we have Luke. Luke was the good guy and opposite of who Gabriel was. Then we have Hope. My heart hurt for her because she had two men who loved her wholly and in the end she had to pick one. there was some amazing action, some moments where I had tears running down my face and moments where I was rooting for these characters. While it is labeled dark, it’s not super super dark. Someone that isn’t sure about dark romance would really enjoy this as an intro to the trope. In the end I was very pleased with the story. I don’t wanna go into too much detail because I don’t want to ruin other readers enjoyment. 4 stars #2OCCJD

"Salvation: A Dark Twisted Love Triangle Romance" by Skye Turner was a fantastic read. I loved Hope, Luke, and Gabrial's story. This story was packed with romance, passion, friends to lovers, good versus evil, twists, emotion, and more. This story hooked me and I didn't want to put it down. Highly recommend it to all fans of dark romance, love triangles, friends to lovers, and twists.

Three people from the same place that chose different paths.

Hope is a humanitarian. Hope runs a shelter for battered woman and children. She has a desire to help the less fortunate and will bend the rules to make this happen. Hope loves Luke and knows that she could have a good life with him and he will protect her. The bad boy that needs protecting and love, Gabrial, holds the other half of Hope’s heart. She does not feel that she can let one go as she loves them both equally and needs them both to complete her.

Luke is the detective. He wants justice for the crimes he is investigating even though that means he would have to bring down the crime lord Gabrial. Friends since childhood, Luke loves Gabrial like a brother. He is also the man that holds the other half to Hope’s heart. Luke loves Hope fiercely and wants to be with her but holds back because he can not share that part of her with anyone; not even his childhood best friend.

Gabrial is the crime lord. Gabrial breaks the rules. He believes that hard work can bring money even if it comes at the expense of others. Contrary to his occupation, Gabrial takes justice in his own hands but never harms women or children. Gabrial loves Hope and will protect her at all cost.

When Hope is threatened will they be able to put differences aside and find the threat?

This is the first book I have read by Skye Turner and it was a really good book. I wouldn’t call it a dark read by any means but more of a twisted love story. It is one woman that loves two men and can’t choose between them. Experience the intense passion and burning desire along with the anguish. This is one book that you don’t want to put down when you start reading. My only disappointment was the book ended. :) I wanted it to keep going some more.

I liked the unexpected twist in the story. I never saw it coming!

I recommend this book to anyone that likes a complex love story with a twist.

Dark and light, good and bad, this is what this read is about.

Hope is a young woman that has grown up around 2 men that are in her life. She struggles on a daily basis with the love that she has for both of these men. One is very bad for her, the dark and the other is good for her, the light.

Gabrial has really not had a great childhood, when he is a very young boy her comes across two other children that befriend him, keep him safe and fed. Gabrial has sworn that he would never feel like he did when he was a child and has made a name for himself within the crime world and now is a mafia boss.

Luke has gone the completely opposite way to Gabrial and is law enforcement. He knows what Gabrial does but at times he is torn between his love for someone that he calls a brother, but also knowing that the love of his life Hope loves Gabrial as well as him.

This is a love triangle story, but in some ways it is very different to the norm. There is a lot of twists and turns and you will be taken on a journey of emotions.

This is the first book I have read from author Skye Turner, and I thoroughly enjoyed her writing style.

This book is slightly different to any other storyline I have read, and to be honest at first I struggled with the concept of the leading lady Hope being 'in love' with two men. The author handled the storyline well and for the majority got me on board with the concept, but I still struggled with Hope's decision to date both men. I definitely had more respect for Luke Sanchez the hot Police Detective over Gabriel DeLucca the crime boss, and it wasn't simply because of their chosen professions. For me Luke had a little more respect for himself and Hope and this is reflected in the choices he makes.

This is a good story with just enough suspense to keep you reading. A few funny moments and a few teary moments, this book is definitely worth a read if you are looking for something a little different.

O.M.G. I finished this book a few hours ago and I'm still feeling the after shock.

This author knocks my socks off....AND she does it again with this incredible story.

Good versus evil.

Love versus love.

Every word, every scene...it was BRILLIANT!!!

From the first page I was sucked into the lives of Gabrial, Luke and Hope. Their story pulled at my emotions in so many ways. I was happy, distraught, laughing and crying as if I was right there with them. The action was intense, the desire felt through the pages and the angst ripped at my heart strings.

I loved this book and highly recommend it to everyone that enjoys a dark love story till the bitter end.

FOUR Stars!

I received an ARC for an honest review of His Only Salvation by Skye Turner

Hope has loved two boys for almost her entire life and yes at the same time. She has cherished their relationships and has shared secrets with each of them. Gabrial seems to have a dark side but shows a gentler side to Hope. While Luke is a softer, kinder and more generous man.

These two men never wanted to make Hope choose but like life things happen that aren't expected. The ending was a total shocker. I didn't have a clue what was going to happen. This is an easy read.

Hope loves 2 men. Her best friends growing up that have gone in very different directions. I fights the good fight and the other lives a life of crime. I struggled to stay wth the story, as the relationships were very different and the focus was primarily about Gabriel. Luke definitely didn’t factor in as strong The ending was extremely abrupt, from the shooting to a marriage and family with no adjustment and little explanation about Gabe. What happened there???

EXCERPT
The sound of the gun going off reverberates throughout the metal of the warehouse. It ricochets like a rock bouncing down a tin roof, only it's louder… So much louder.

That didn't just happen. This is a nightmare. It's not real. It can't be real.

Only as my gaze strays across the room and I take in the scene, the walls start to close in. I can't breathe. All I can focus on is him… lying on the ground. A dark red puddle steadily increases in size and I hear a mournful wail. It pierces my heart.

The voice calling my name, in absolute terror, finally catches my attention and suddenly the sound stops and I realize that the scream was coming from me.

"Hope… Hope… look at me… Stay with me. Goddammit. Stay with me. You have to get out of here. You can't be here right now, Hope. They're already on the way and you can't be here when the police show up."

The screams don't stop. I can't. The horror is too much. If anything, I scream even louder. I hear the voice imploring me to look away from the scene on the dirty floor of the warehouse, but I can't. I can't look away from him. He's on the ground. My vision starts to waver and I blink to try to make the scene disappear.

It will be ok. This isn't real. None of this is real. It's just a night terror. Like I had as a child. If I take my time and breathe with my eyes closed, when I open them, I'll see everything is ok. I'll be in my pink childish bedroom and everything will be fine.

Something sounds like bubbles under water. Opening my eyes, I look past the man in front of me, desperately trying to get me to move, to leave, and see him lying on the ground as the puddle continues to spread and darkens. That's black… it can't be blood. Blood is red and that is almost black. Blood isn't that dark. It's not real.

Only, he gurgles as blood trickles from his mouth and he looks at me with a mixture and fear and acceptance.

Dear God, he's choking on his own blood. This is real.

He gurgles once more and his eyes widen before he reaches out for me… I can't move. I can't breathe. This is real. This is happening… Oh my God… this is really happening… It's not a nightmare.

The darkness consumes me and I feel weightless as my bones liquefy… I try to speak but nothing comes out as I succumb to the darkness.

No light… only darkness.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

My heart belongs to two men. They are darkness and light personified. I know I must choose. One is my curse. He says I'm his salvation. The other loves me just as fiercely. Things aren't always black and white. Am I strong enough to follow my heart when my head screams that I can't have it both ways. What prince and I willing to pay?

This is dark little tale that is a love triangle and the main character is in love with two men. Hope is a girl who has always seen charity given by her father as she was growing up and one day she finds a starving little Gabriel and she and her friend Luke befriend him and when they grow up Hope runs a women's shelter for abused women many of them that Gabriel has saved. Gabriel is a criminal and the other man in her life is Luke and he is a detective. Now talk about two complete opposite men. She loves them both fiercely. And they love her and Gabriel has always left like she has saved him and keeps him halfway sane though I didn't think he was a bad guy. Now here is where I almost lost my ever loving mind and threw my precious kindle in the bathtub. I didn't care that she couldn't pick. I didn't mind that she was in love with polar opposites. None of that bothered me at all but when this book is almost over I don't think a book has ever made me as mad as the things that happen in the end of this book. I literally felt like someone punched me in the gut and I just couldn't believe what I was reading. I wasn't the biggest fan of some of the writing at times. Its kind of odd in the way the conversations run on and I really had to pay attention or I wasn't sure who was talking at times. But that ending. I am still so mad. Its' taken me three days to be able to be calm enough to write this review . I don't know that I would let that stop you from reading the book. I did read it basically in one sitting but man I am still livid. I can't even believe that happened!!!

Sexy Love Triangle
Trigger Warnings ⚠️
Violence against animals (one occurrence), men and women including rape (not graphic), drug use, murder, and graphic sexual situations. - taken from the disclaimer page

WOW.

This love triangle is SPICY!
🔥🔥🔥🔥

Hope, Gabrial, and Luke. They were inseparable until they weren't. Life took Gabrial and Luke on opposite paths but Hope was their grounding force. They love Hope and Hope loves them. She can't breathe when she thinks of having to lose one. How could she choose? They mean everything to her they are her whole world.

Hope is an independent woman who runs a shelter for in-need ladies who have nowhere to go other than this place where Hope takes care of them and gives them and their children a roof and food.

Luke is a police officer who abides by the law and he knows Gabrial is the cause of a lot of his problems in his cases.

Gabrial is like a vigilante who protects animals, women, and children. He has his values and protects things and those who are important.

The ride is wild and is completely worth it. I highly recommend this read. I fell in love with the story and the characters. Great world building!

Such an intriguing dark read. Right from the beginning, Skye Turner captivated me with her words. It was instantly clear things would get interesting by the initial scene. I wasn’t wrong because when Gabrial, a crime lord, and Luke, a detective, were introduced, I just had to know where they stood with Hope, who runs a battered women’s shelter.

Was Luke the innocent detective, not a person to stoop to Gabrial’s level? Was Gabrial the horrible person society paints him to be, considering his role in running the streets? Hope was torn between the two men, and rightly so. Especially since both men, regardless of their profession, have a penchant for protecting others.

But things take a turn for the worse when Hope receives a letter in the mail. Who’s watching the trio, and what kind of danger were they facing? Hot damn, this author has me all tangled up in this triangle. By the end, I wasn’t sure who I’d choose either. This was a fantastic tale spun just right even though I’m selfish and wished for the perfect happy ending. I look forward to reading more of this author’s works!

Salvation is first and foremost a love triangle and it is a really well done love triangle. This isn't just a girl who wants her cake and the icing, though there's nothing wrong with that. Hope loves both of her men and she can't pick between them so she doesn't. She loves the dark and she loves the light and neither man can or will change themselves, and she doesn't ask them to.

Hope accepts both men for who they are and that's a beautiful thing to read even if you know it can't last.

This is a love triangle and a friendship, even a brotherhood to a certain extent. These three are a family and as families do, they go in their own directions. The ending was expected but it still got me all up in my feels when it arrives. It was my first real foray into dark and angsty romance and I enjoyed it from beginning to end.

Gabrial, Hope and Luke meet very young, and they were always together with Hope taking Gabrial under her wing. Although as they become older Gabrial and Luke became total opposites, their paths taking different directions. The only thing they have in common is their love for Hope, and Hope loves them both, left in the middle, loving good guy Luke and bad boy Gabrial.
Both men don’t want Hope to have to choose, but Luke won’t share her even with his childhood friend, and Gabrial will do anything to protect her.
Will Gabrial and Luke be able to put aside their differences when it comes to Hope and protecting her.
Who will Hope choose, she loves them both the good boy and the bad boy.

It has been a while since I have read a book that thoroughly engaged every single emotion a person is capable of feeling. From anger and hatred to heartbreak, to joy, to tears, to ... well, you get the idea. I can't express enough that this one WILL hold you captive. How can one person be torn between two polar opposites? How do you choose? How can you love two men at once and go through all you have.

This one will leave you with some thoughts. You will have feelings long after you complete this one. Good or bad, this author truly knows how to pull you and and take you on a ride.

I am glad I not only read this one, but was able to feel this dark, angsty, story.

Trope: love triangle

I have been putting off this review for some time now lol. Let me start off by saying I hate love triangles HOWEVER I am glad I read this one. At the beginning of this book, we are immediately aware of Hope's torn heart between Gabrial & Luke. Of course me being me, I fell in love with Gabrial and much preferred his and Hope's connection. Luke wasn't necessarily a bad guy but was a little boring and uninteresting to me. The reason I can't rate this book as of now is because I need more time to process the ending. There was a lot that happened and mentally I'm just not there yet

TW: violence against animals/men/women (including rape though not graphic), drug use, murder, child abuse/neglect/poverty mentioned

What?! I don’t even know where to start. I don’t want to ruin the story. I love to hate love triangles. I was angry and sad most of the time, I couldn’t help liking Gabrial more. Hope is the only light in his dark life. I felt like he needed her more than Luke did.
The ending took me completely off guard. Be prepared to experience a full range of emotions, not all of them good. I may not have liked the way this book made me feel all the time but the fact that it made my heart hurt so bad proves it’s great writing. I recommend going into this book blind, I always do but you definitely don’t want to wreck anything for yourself!

It's official this book twisted my heart. Because I do not want to spoil it so I will have to keep this short. Hope is caught between loving two men one bad and one good. However, the bad one is one I could not hate. So I can see why she struggled. This had jealousy, violence, angst, STEAM, love triangle where both men were friends. It was hard for her she loved Gabrial and Luke and they loved her. Great read that I was easily enthralled and on the edge wanting to know how it would end.

I received this copy and my honest review is voluntary

Dark Mafia Romance, with a twisted love triangle.
4.5 stars
Gabrial, Hope, and Luke. A sweet and steamy love story you want to have a happy ending with twists that leave you sweating and cursing. Skye Turner writes believable characters with heart and faults against a Louisiana backdrop. The story ticks all the dark romance boxes, with plenty of angst, but it’s not so dark that readers new to the genre would be overwhelmed.
I recommend this book to readers who enjoy romantic suspense with a Noire edge.

These three grew up together and she has grown to love both men in their own ways.
Luke the cop and Gabrial the criminal and she is the owner of the a homeless shelter.
There is a recent crime that Luke knows in his bones that Gabrial is responsible for and he nows that he should hate him but he can't because he's his brother.
She struggles with her relationship with both men. I knew this was a love triangle and thought that maybe it was just gonna end up a MFM and been mislabeled. But it was a true love triangle in a dark romance fashion.

This book was heavy and deep and hard to read at times, but just as much as my heart went into shock and I thought I’d put it down, I couldn’t. That’s how engrossed I was in this love triangle that rattled my heart.
Seriously, it was clanking around in my chest.
That’s what I like when I read a book with trigger warnings.
Salvation satisfied my dark thirst for reading. It also made me aware that Skye can write just as good in this genre as she has all the others.
I definitely recommend Salvation a thousand times over.

Wow!! If you have triggers then this may not be for you!! But if you can handle a dark intense story then get this book now!! The love triangle between Gabe, Hope, and Luke started when they were children and the bonds are strong and lifelong. But as they age the feelings change , increase, and desires are added but the love is always there underlying the major differences that came as adults. How can she choose between the two loves ? The ending will shock you and hurt your heart!

I read a lot of books but this one captivated me. I was hooked from the first few pages and not many books can do to me. I love how Ms Turner wrote about two opposite’s loving one Woman and her love for both of them. She had a great storyline, I understand the Title even more and it totally fits the book. I hated how one of them had to end but it did result in a HEA. This was very well written by Ms Turner capturing the lust, love, sexy, story of 3 people loving each other. Good Read!!!
