About this ebook

I don’t understand Americans.

Or, as we say in Scotland, I dinna understand ye eedjits.

And I definitely dinna understand the crazy mother-in-law of my cousin Declan. Who in their right mind names a wee dog Chuffy?

I’m stuck in New York after ma agent makes a bloody mess of an otherwise good endorsement contract for a sports towel company, and this crazy American holiday–Thanksgiving–is in two days.

The invitation to spend it in Mendon, Massachusetts, with the Jacoby family is about as appealing as rotten haggis. As far as I can tell, Thanksgiving is about stuffing yerself silly, watching pathetic American “football,” while fighting with relatives ye only see once a year.

If I wanted that last one, I’d head back to Scotland, where we dinna need a holiday to be salty to each other.

Ma firm answer is nae.

Until I remember Amy is part of the family.

Suddenly, I’m available.

Eager, even. Perhaps she’ll pull ma wishbone. I hear that’s part of the Turkey Day festivities, aye?

What I canna admit, though, is how she pulls ma heartstrings, too.

Which shouldna feel better than the wishbone, but it does.

And here comes Amy's mother with another holiday tradition, this one a bit early.

A sprig o’ mistletoe, dangling right above Amy’s bonnie head.

Shopping for a Turkey features Scottish football player Hamish McCormick and Amy Jacoby as they navigate unusual cultural norms, new traditions, and the undeniable attraction between these two characters, who have appeared as supporting players in Julia Kent's New York Times-bestselling Shopping series.

It's their turn to have their own all-new spinoff series. And to pull the wishbone. ;)

5 star review Shopping For A Turkey (Shopping for a Billionaire #13) by Julia Kent Whenever I pick up a new book from Julia Kent, I know I am in for a wonderfully entertaining read. I was in stitches having laughed so much I cried. That’s right, not only laughing but snort laughing. I was supposed to be in the US this year for my first Thanksgiving but sadly fate had other plans for me. I lived attending a Thanksgiving dinner vicariously through reading this book. This is Hamish McCormick and Amy Jacoby’s story and was a fantastic addition to the series. We have met both of these characters in previous books and I couldn’t wait for them to get their own story. This book was pure chaos, but in a good way. The family and shenanigans were as outrageous as always and made for a fun read. It was so much fun to see all the familiar faces that we have come to know and love in this story. There were also some swoon worthy moments and I felt that Hamish and Amy were well suited to one another. Shopping For A Turkey was a brilliant addition to one of my favourite romantic comedy series ever.

If you are looking for a book to put you in the holiday mood look no further than Shopping for the Turkey, like all the previous Julia Kent’s books in this series expect to be entertained. I laughed or should I say snorted throughout this quick read and I loved everything about Hamish McCormick and Amy Jacob’s story. We have meet this couple in previous books and I was excited for them to get their own story and I wasn’t disappointed, this book was everything I expected and so much more. This couples story is set around a Thanksgiving Dinner and let’s just say not everything goes to plan, it’s chaotic, it’s funny, it’s outrageous and it was a perfect romantic comedy. There is plenty to love about this book because it’s a love story mixed with plenty of shenanigans. I guess all I need to say is please one click this gem you won’t be disappointed.

I was so excited for another Shopping book, and this one soooo did not disappoint. It’s Thanksgiving again at the Jacoby asylum—I mean, house—and there’s plenty to be thankful for this holiday. This year, we are most thankful for the presence of a certain Scottish footballer who’s as sexy as he is cocky… and he’s pretty damn cocky. Just ask Amy, she’ll tell you… very loudly and colorfully. Oh, how I have missed these characters. This series just continues to get better, which is amazing because every single book is phenomenal. If you’re very familiar with this series and these characters, you might think you can hazard a guess as to the shenanigans the Jacobys and McCormicks (and their extended family & friends) might get up to on turkey day. But you would be wrong… oh so, very, very wrong. Laughing out loud is pretty much an expectation with this series, at this point. And again, this book did not disappoint. This book is chock full of laughter, love, lust (Scottish footballer, remember?), very hot yoga, turkeys, cats, dogs, and the occasional cougar. More than anything though, this story and this series is about family—the kind of family that makes you appreciate your own. Because no matter how crazy your family is, it could always be worse. I dare you to read this book, though, and not come away with a smile on your face and joy in your heart. I absolutely adored this book, and I cannot wait for the next one! * I was given an ARC of this book and voluntarily chose to review. All of my opinions are honest and entirely my own.
