The clarity on my five year old Dell laptop is better than the clarity on this $1400 screen. I ended up using my Mac on the table for every day task. And I only use the screen for scheduling my abs and notes. All the items that I only how to use 10% of the time. Even YouTube is not as clear as a Center in View in screen. I make it work because I don’t actually watch YouTube all I do is listen to it.

I had a laptop plus two 29" screen set up before. Moving windows is much easier and faster with this LG 49". The resolution and picture quality is great. The built in speaker works well for zoom, teams, webex.
The screen supplies power to the laptop via usb-c. So there is only one usb-c cable to plug in. Easy!
The only initial issue was that LG's web-page didn't have the mandatory "On Screen Control" - App download under the exact part # of this screen. So we downloaded it from a similar part# and it works perfect.

UPSIDES: I bought this monitor to replace my aging Apply 27" display, and planned on connecting it to my MacBookPro. It is absolutely huge, and I love the fact that I can split the monitor in half, into basically two 27" monitors, with each half using a different connection. This unfortunately requires two cables to be connected to my MacBookPro, but the results are amazing - particularly since I use an app called SizeUp to move windows around on my monitors and I can essentially divide the monitor into 8 individual windows with a few keystrokes. There are no apps that I have found to move windows around on an ultra-wide monitor like this that keeps the windows at a reasonable size, so dividing up the monitor into halves is key. Essentially, I now have 3 monitors - the two halves of this monitor plus the MacBookPro monitor. Clarity is fantastic, and I use it every day for work - mostly word processing. I connect it to my Mac with the DisplayPort on one half, and the HDMI port on the other half. The speakers are also surprisingly good, although I use external speakers anyway because I already had them and, well, they are Bose and sound awesome.

DOWNSIDES: Well, it is HUGE so be sure you have enough space for it. I mounted it to the wall behind my desk using the standard VESA mount on the back. It also has only one Thunderbolt port, so it will not act as a hub for other Thunderbolt devices (this is a HUGE oversight since there are currently no multi-Thunderbolt 3 hubs on the market). There is also no internal way to use the Thunderbolt 3 port for BOTH halves of the monitor, which is another oversight for people like me who use a Mac.

OVERALL: Great monitor if you have the space, but be prepared to use 2 ports on your MacBookPro if you want to use it as two 27" displays.

One of the main reasons for buying a ultra-wide monitor was to control two computers with one screen and one keyboard / mouse. The Dual Controller software is sketch at best, although I think I got it to work, instructions are marginal at best AND the software occasionally causes my mouse to stop operating.
