Jane, from Relish, is unlike any other guitar available today. Its semi-hollowbody has a resonant aluminum core that's mated to a 7-ply laminate top and magnetically attached back. By pulling off the back, you get access to Relish's hot-swappable pickup system. This allows you to alter the voice of your guitar to cover a range of genres and styles by buying additional pickup sets (sold separately). To change the voice of the guitar, simply pull out a magnetically-attached pickup and drop in a new one — no soldering iron or tools are required! You also get a Graph Tech Ghost piezo system and a 17-way pickup blend strip for even more tonal variety. The whole body configuration is attached to a 1-piece bent maple neck that drastically reduces the risk of a headstock break, and the stainless steel frets are loaded into a woven bamboo fingerboard that resists changes in temperature and humidity. You won't ever have to worry about winter fret sprout or spring swells. The innovation doesn't end there. Innovative body design
Every detail of Jane was painstakingly engineered by Relish to give players a completely new playing experience. It all starts with the semi-hollowbody construction that Relish has dubbed the "Floating Sandwich." It consists of an aluminum core with 7-ply ash/maple laminate for the top and back. The top is permanently attached, while the back is securely held in place by a group of magnets. Rubber rings isolate the back panel, allowing the string-through aluminum core to vibrate as freely as possible. By using aluminum, Relish gave Jane a completely unique character. It's bright and powerful with seriously long sustain. And to top it all off, it feels just like a regular axe when you pick it up to play.
Climate-resistant tonewoods
If you live in a harsh climate or hop between deserts and rainforests with regularity, you know that the weather can take a toll on your favorite guitar. Luckily, the Jane was designed to solve this problem. Its tonewoods were chosen specifically for their resistance to changes in temperature and humidity. The HPL (High Pressure Laminate) top and back will remain unaffected by climate, refusing to warp even under the most demanding circumstances. The maple neck is topped with a woven bamboo fingerboard. Woven bamboo is more durable than ebony or rosewood and doesn't shrink or swell at the same rate. This means that you can throw Jane into the van in New Orleans and drive to your next show in Vegas without worrying about sudden fret sprout. All you need to do is adjust the truss rod to keep the neck playing just the way you like it. It is important to remember that the Jane is made from natural materials. Bent maple neck reduces the risk of headstock breaks
The Jane is equipped with a quartersawn maple neck that's unlike almost any other neck on the market. Made from a single piece of quartersawn maple, the neck features a bent headstock to provide the optimal string angle without compromising the strength of the neck. To prove how strong their necks are, Relish sent a replacement neck to Sweetwater's product testing team and challenged them to find a way to break it. Many people took turns standing on the neck, but none managed to deal any damage. While we don't recommend that you stand on your brand new Relish, we feel confident that this guitar can stand up to whatever punishment you put it through.
Patented pickup swapping system
Relish uses a patented pickup swapping system that enables you to drastically alter your axe's voice in a few seconds. Each pickup is completely removable and requires no specialized tools to do so. But how does this innovative technology work? Each pickup has plated contacts that transfer your signal without the need for soldering. The pickup is held in place by a pair of strong magnets located in the mounting hardware. And the Relish pickup swapping system is completely modular, which opens the door for some serious experimental potential. Need a P90 in the neck and a ripping humbucker in the bridge? You've got it. Want a single-coil in the bridge and a PAF in the neck? You're covered. Relish offers a variety of pickups to suit the needs of any guitar player including single coils, P90s, and PAFs. They also offer a selection of pickups from other manufacturers including Bare Knuckle and Seymour Duncan. 17-position selector switch gives you a wealth of tonal options
You'll never run out of new sounds with the Jane. It's equipped with a 17-position pickup selector slider with a helpful LED to light the way. This touchpad functions as a blend control between the two pickups, with 100% neck located closer to the headstock, and 100% bridge as you move to the opposite side. You can achieve an 80-20 bridge neck split with a touch of your finger. The slider also provides 2-finger coil-splitting options. Tap one finger on the pickup you want to split, then tap another in the middle of the slider, and you've split the pickup. This unlocks a whole universe of different tones. To be exact, a single set of pickups can achieve a whopping 206 different tones. Add more sets of pickups into the mix, and the tonal possibilities are literally endless.
Integrated piezo system
Jane has a few more tones hidden inside its semi-hollowbody. It's loaded with a Graph Tech Ghost piezo system located in the bridge. This allows the Jane to create realistic acoustic tones. The piezo system has a dedicated volume knob that allows you to blend the signal with your electric pickups. For further tonal variation, Jane's piezo knob is equipped with a push/pull pot that engages a mid boost. To handle any application, this guitar has a stereo output that splits the piezo and magnetic pickup signal so you can route them to different amps in your setup.
